The subscription is cheaper in Nigeria. I’m in East Africa and paying ₦75k monthly, and I use only around 500 GB monthly
They probably price based on the average income of the population.
I think Americans pay $100 monthly while is 150k in naira.

Highest i ever got was 265mbps. Mostly hovers around 150. Not too shabby,I watch everything in 4k and download PS5 games in a couple of hours, especially CoD with its endless updates.

MTN Fiber claims 1gbps, but MTN is generally dog shit these days. We'll see.

I only hit +400 mbps once and never touched that level again.
It was incredible seeing 58mb/s

Spoken like an educated dullard, The airtel router STRUGGLED to reach 20mbps.
What's the point of paying for more speed when you can't even reach the maximum speed of the initial package?

Those could be Airtel agents or sales reps 😜😜

Boss, go for the Series X or S, I have the Xbox One S, although because I have Ultimate I can stream those games that cannot be installed on the One S. It's Expensive but worth it.
Thanks Chief. Which kind of game pass do you use? I'm looking to pay for core annual, but I don't want to have the issue of paying and it not working. Na Xbox series s I dey eye.

I don't even bother about checking the temporality of my usage in relation to browsing or Download speed because I almost always ha e very decent speed. So I am not bothered about that time of the day it is. Most often than not, I am downloading while the kids are also streaming media on the TV all without any buffering whatsoever.

Alright, if Airtel works well for you, stick to it. Personally I used to be a huge fan of MTN but their data speed is getting unpredictable with many downtimes. I've used Airtel as well and it was just there, not really worth writing home about...

Exactly. I share MTN data 4G to my smart TV and I get more than 20mbps. It goes close to 35-43mbps.

emmyN:

How can Airtel 5G be capped at 20mbps? My normal 4G MTN exceeds that speed on a very good day.

Please can someone help me get insight on the starlink subscription.. if I want to use it in a hotel or office.. will it still be the 38k sub.. plenty people will be using it, as such 1 terabyte wouldn't be enough.

It is games that take that much Data, the previous screenshot I shared was from this morning, and now that I checked.

I am installing COD 310gb, Fallout 4 80 gb
Omo, those mist be highest end games. Here's me thinking my phone of 256 rom is just enough or anyone with a 512 rom laptop wouldn't need more space, how much wrong I'd all this while. But CoD on phones don't take that much space anyway. Takes less than 3 gb for CoD on my phone

I can't buy it until am earning serious money in dollars...

If you are earning in dollars or competing with digital companies overseas, it is a good investment because I am sure after you use it, you can still sell it as second hand for that exact 400k (due to how the naira is losing value). This is after 5 to 10 years use,.that's naira.
You can earn money as an arbitrage trader in crypto. Just open bybit invest $100 and make 10% profit daily by studying price on different pools. It's simple as abc and within first 30 days you'll make $1k and you can be making 10x of ur capital each month meaning of you invest $100 you can make $100,000 in 4 months of you're dedicated and sabi basic maths. Nb: don't dm me as I'm not a financial adviser

I use game pass ultimate, the $20 one.
I am paying monthly. Get a trial for ultimate for $1 and test it out, then cancel the subscription before the 14 days ends to avoid the $20 charge.

That Series S make sense pass Xbox One

I think it’s like a bundle, because I can access like 3-4 other versions of COD from the menu and it is already telling me there is another COD 6 coming out.

Games take up space o, serious gamers usually get external ssd. Me, I just delete and reinstall when I need to.

COD on phone too will be large o, check am well, will it not be up to 6gb?

I am waiting for the Starlink mini to solve the portability problem.
grin Funny enough, I ran across an ad sometime, saying they offer starlink MIFI powered by airtel.
When I called to enquire, the gentleman told me the gadget and its outside antenna is free, but you must always buy data to reload else, it will be withdrawn from you.
I am still surprised it’s not widely known that starlink and airtel already have some form of collabo.

My MTN runs at 100+ mbps, the interesting thing about the Airtel is the unlimited data plan

Pastorjohn2:
Hello everyone, I made a post on my review on the airtel 5G unlimited router. Let's just say the speed nearly drove me mad, There were times I couldn't use the router unless at night time because it was just too slow.
It's truly unlimited but the speed is a joke.
So last month I purchased starlink and it cost me about 440k on jumia with 38k monthly subscription fee and I must say, The speed is incredible!
I experience an average of 200-300mbps and even hit up to 458mbps as compared to airtels 20mbps.
I can download a 75gb file in 1 hour but I used 3 days to download a 100gb file with airtel router.

The only major disadvantage is, If you don't have constant power then you have to use your gen constantly to power it and it's not portable at all. You'd have to completely unwire it to take it to another location and the data plans are very specific to your current location.

So if I go from Lagos to Abuja, I can't use it in Abuja as I'd have to resub again for Abuja location.
If you can afford it, I highly recommend it! My videos almost never buffer even at the highest possible quality.

With starlink, Nigeria is slowly getting to where majority of other countries have been for a while. Unlimited very fast connectivity is the norm in most other countries. Streaming, iptv, tv on demand, etc is the future. Hopefully the starlink startup costs will drop a bit to make it accessible to more people.

Yes, starlink is truly unlimited. I do nearly 1TB every month as well, and you can connect to up to 128 devices at a time without the speed being throttled down
