Lol.
There was a certain Nigerian who wanted to operate the Nigerian way in the UK. When the law was about to grab him he fled to Nigeria. I doubt if he had ever stepped his foot to the UK ever since.

Does anyone on thier own open a new Anglican church in one corner? NO, these are the traditional churches and we should go back to them not these new John 3.16 churches

Yes I agree, but the OP just condemned all churches in Nigeria as though none of them is worth attending because he has japaed and seen a church that gave accounts of their finances.

Very commendable decision.
Nigerian churches most of the Pentecostal churches are gigantic disgrace to Christianity.
And who still wonders why Oyibo countries are advanced and still keep advancing?
The answer is: Accountability culture even in the churches there.
They have numerous churches and yet keep developing.
Remember The US national motto is "In God We Trust" and she's a superpower.
Whereas Nigeria has millions of churches and new ones keep springing up daily, yet we haven't been able to make reasonable economic development progress since the end of the military regime.
Nigerian churches contribute greatly to the culture of embezzlement, that is inherent in our politicians today.
We pray and pray expecting manna to fall like that from Heaven, but forget that Heaven helps those who help themselves.
We pray and pray, yet foolishly vote in incompetent leaders into power out of stupid ethnic bigotry sentiments.

They will even quote 1corinthians 12:28 telling you to learn HONOUR (a subtle term for manipulation, control and corruption) because he is appointment into the pastoral, prophetic, apostolic office over you! Being fully aware of the ignorance of the scripture of believers. Yes there are ministry offices but to someone is appointed over another is radical corruption because no Mr oyedepo, adeboye, adekoya, baba j, babalola, kumuyi, okonkwo, Lazarus was specified there. What it means is that every believeer is called into those offices and you don't have to be in a certain location in a certain building called a church to worship.

Well he might be right with his view is is exclusive to him.

The tin is, Those village orthodox churches use to give account of how they received and spent the church money/donations at the end of every year...in my hometown that is the norms actually so I was used to it before I left for the cities.

It was when I got to lagos I saw that there also used to be different churches with different ideas, management system and extortion techniques in the name of collecting dues and gifts.

Some of the churches are direct clones of the old orthodox churches we were used to in the village, same mode of service and all but the only difference is the way they collect money. These clones churches are hungrier for money more than a responsible family man. And the funny thing is that nothing like accountability or reports on how the money was spent.
If u dare ask the pastors and some followfollow church members will blackmail u in front of other listening ears into believing u re a devil, antichrist, antipastor and a person who is not filled with the holy spirit. That time u need deliverance grin

Every church does that but not openly. There's department that handles that in every church though i prefer this method from oyibo people.

Christianity is a personal race. Attend a church where you can worship God freely and not where your mind will start to stray to topics like "what are they using my money for"?

Find your way to the nearest Church of Christ. You'll experience true worship as lije the early Christians. Where there's openness, the truth is being said and Christians worship God in truth and in spirit.

Appeal To Our Beloved:
•Mr Adepoju, you are free to stay in your house whenever you come back to Nigeria, for Nigerian Churches will continue to March Forward and the gates of hell will not prevail.
-Nigerian Churches are not NGOs, neither do Govt gives them Sisi( Kobo) as supporting funds, and those Churches abroad have been existing since generations and must blend with the rules of times in their respective Countries.
-For your information, there are many Churches in Nigeria, feeding the Orphans, the weak, the feeble, and those in Prisons, steadily. Some have Mission Outreaches, they Clothes the Naked, home and Abroad,Feed Beggars,Feed the Widows, etc!
For example,I know those Churches that Cooks good, every Weekdays and Weekend and Served the Prisoners, even though, I'm not in that Church.
What is more Accountable - is it until they show you the Statement of Accounts on how they Spent your Money? How do you make Heaven with this attitude?
•My Money Is My Money Attitude and you think you are growing in Faith?
Much as I know that some Churches are for the belly ,but not ALL,so why the Comparison of how they spent the Church Money?
-Don't be like those condemning the Churches because they wants to used them during Elections and the Nigerian Churches refused them, now they are saying all manners of accusations, against the Church Leaders.
•The Church Mandate is to Win More Souls for Christ ,which You should be be part, but if you follow those who wants to know how your Money is Spent, then ,go and read more of the Bible for Guidance and Counseling on the Churches Growth.
Remember those you are entertaining here on Social Media are neither believers nor want it well, with the Church.
May you know the Truth and the Truth Set You Free.
Leave the Pastors for God's Judgement, after all,you are not the one that Call them, not those on the Social Media, for their grievous condemnation.
Remain Blessed.

Gone are the days if you don’t go to church one will be seen as someone whom the devil has taken over. Not so like that anymore. So unfortunate that majority of families don’t go to church any longer. A religion meant for the museum, but still ON outa peoples selfish desires order than selfless desires. What a shame

Meanwhile, one general overseer in Nigeria said God never told him to give account of how he spends his members' tithe to them and the member that attempted to demand accountability from him was punished by God with severe calamity.

Is it an inferiority complex of the black man or just an outright "village boy" mentality that makes them disparage anything Nigeria at the slightest opportunity when they just land US or Europe.

While it's reasonable to give accounts for how money is spent anywhere, a church is not Biblically compelled to do so. The Church is built on trust. There are many risks and sacrifices that pastors would take for church members sef that based solely on nothing else but trust.

TRUST is the bane of the assembly of the local church. Trust for God and His men. So giving account is good. But I don't need my pastor to give account to me when I give in the church. That's the church where I'm being blessed. My giving there is in thanksgiving to God and in response to my trust for HIM and the men He has chosen to lead me.

Mind you, there are hundreds of churches in Nigeria that do exactly what he's exalting "oyibo" for. Many of the orthodox churches and even some pentecostals.

There is no inferiority complex when you recognise that you are not doing something well or as well as others. It is a challenge for you to improve.
If you say the original poster has an inferiority complex, you too can be said to have a backward mentality for saying that your Pastor do not need to account for the monies collected in church.
Why then do you expect your political leaders to give account for the monies they receive?
Why not extend the same trust you have in your pastor to your political leaders?

Some of you just write meaningless tripe in the bid to defend the indefensible. What's your point now? That the pastors in Nigeria actually account for how they spent money and donations? What exactly is your point here? I have read it twice and I cant see it. You want people to dispute the fact that pastors in Nigeria are accountable to no one but themselves?
If you have any evidence of pastors in Nigeria doing something similar to those in the UK, show it to us. Or you want everybody to be like you and start disputing clear facts without reason because pastors are involved?
Next time, use wisdom to know the time and place to make a point.
