austino677: This is not new. It is usually $1,000 if you are traveling to any country on tourist visa. If you are on resident permit or a resident visa such as VITEM, no one will ask you for PTA. |

austino677: It is only a random check and not a big issue. |

Hello from Sao Paulo I've been here for a few days, and the weather is COLD. I guess I'll get used to it. I got an airbnb but still on the look out for a decent accommodation (couldn't get a place for less than 3,600 Reais). Brazil is a lovely place; at least the few places I have been to since my arrival. MsKay04: 1 Like |

Are you in the main Sao Paulo or neighboring city in the state? Which airline did you use? Give us information about the trip from Lagos SP if you can. I wish you the best. MsKay04: |

I am in the main São Paulo. I flew Qatar - 9 hrs to Doha and 15 hrs to São Paulo. The staff all the way from the Lagos airport were nice, and the cabin crew took good care of me. I’d advise you pay for extra leg room for comfort (it’s what I did). I had no issues with immigration. The questions were pretty much straightforward. Why are you here? How long are you staying for? That’s it! oluomoadeb: 2 Likes |

This is good to hear. Qaarr airways didn't asked you about medical certificate or you are not that showing? In my experience, Airbnb is your best choice until you have your RG. Many people could offer to help you to rent an apartment with their documents but the terms would later be ridiculous. MsKay04: 1 Like |

Does Anyone have a Clue of How long i have to wait? I have been under review going to 2 months now after spending 3 weeks to move from sent to under review. |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by MsKay04: 12:40pm On Aug 16 |
I downloaded thier medical certificate "fit to fly" and got my doctor to fill and stamp for me. As long as you're not up to 30 weeks, you shouldn't have any issues. They may run another check at their medical centre to confirm how far you've gone. It comes at a cost though. Aside from this, you are good to go. I agree with you on the airbnb option. Most apartments want a one year contract which would cost more, so airbnb it is. Letsmove: 1 Like |

donova2009: Hello, please have you received your package? Was your visa approved? I am in a similar situation where my application is still showing "sent" and its been almost 3 weeks since I submitted. |

hephzibah003: The process is surprising this days They hardly attend to application recent times. I doubt if they still make decisions |

hephzibah003: Yes I received my package 3 weeks ago. I submitted a 6 month statement of account. So they returned it that I should send 3 month statement. Which I think is ridiculous, because they could just have ignored the first 3 months and work with the last 3 months. I have reapplied and submitted since last 2 Fridays and they are yet to send a mail for me to submit my documents. Going to 2 weeks now. I don't know if I should just send my documents or wait for them to send me a mail authorizing me to send my documents. |

Not a good outlook if you ask me, they will now scrutinize every female or pregnant female trying to travel to Brazil. Birthing onboard a flight is big risk, what if she needed emergency surgery or other kind of care not available onboard that flight and which could put her life at risk. Nigerians should learn to do the right thing at the right time. This could potentially block this pathway for others. Obinnau: 8 Likes |

Griot77:Spot on. there are things people do and they do know that they blocking the chances of people coming after them, but they still go ahead and do it. not nice 2 Likes |

The funniest thing is that she went on IG to announced it to the world. Nigerians are very loud. If this is a Russian couple, you would hardly hear anything. Obinnau: 1 Like |

Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by hephzibah003: 9:32pm On Aug 25 |
untamedd: Hello, how are you doing? Your comments have been very helpful on this thread, thank you so much. Please I have two questions: 1. I understand public hospitals are free in Brazil but are there any other cost implication that can likely come up during the process, either via vaginal birth or CS that one would need to pay for? 2. What is the total cost implication for the child documentation process as well as PR for both parents and the possible duration it may take to complete this process? |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Newboy1102: 1:53pm On Aug 27 |
Anyone coming to Brazil right now should be extra prepared because of the recent happenings in Brazil regarding immigrants. Embassy might be more strict and some airlines might not fly Africans. |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by tensazangetsu20(m): 1:56pm On Aug 27 |
Newboy1102: A whole lot of Nigerians are claiming asylum in Brazil. Even to come to Chile transiting through Brazil is very hard now. They won't let you pass. They can even send you back if care isn't taken. |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Newboy1102: 1:57pm On Aug 27 |
MsKay04: Try to use Quitoander or Vivareal, u can look at places closer to the metro for easy transportation in and out of the city. Belém, Tatuape and co is nice with shopping malls and all. 1 Like |
