As for Ellah, another company I'm following, their FY'24 result is expected first week in October.

At the very least, I hope they have completed the installation of their CPO mill in Edo state and onboarded local farmers to supply Palm fruit bunch. They were well behind schedule for planting of their own crops as at the last update. Also, I hope the MOUs/JVs with partners or State govts have kicked off.

My expectation is that the market will look kindly on this one considering the industry in which it operates if it can show some progress. They are cashed up and ready to go. Major concerns are security, farm encrouchment and availability of palm fruit bunches (they will be competing with Okomu oil for supply of fruit bunches in Edo state).

With UCAP alone, Oga Agba should consider stepping aside and letting me build upon his progress. I'm willing to upgrade your UCAP benefit to 500,000 units, as I anticipate a significant bonus of over 1.2M from this deal. If you agree, I'll also include Mag7 as an additional incentive."
I no dey waste time, make I kuku go file for divorce.
The UCAP dey sweet πŸ˜‹ me for Belle.

The Mag7 ministry was meant to bring us inspiration and motivation.
But it looks like the Mag7 power is now beginning to intoxicate a bit, and to corrupt.
If that be the case, is there not a glut of Abuja MagLadies out there to help manage the condition?

Haha.... But I don't know the future nah!

If they announce a gold discovery, chances are the SP will rerate. I listed the possible SP catalysts in previous post.

If they are unfortunate to not find gold in commercial quantities which is also a probability, yawa don gas be that.

Unfortunately, unlike other market jurisdictions they don't report exploration progress so investors can act early.

They intend to acquire some assets and develop them, so the future still looks bright. They are also sitting on one or two discoveries but not sure how substantial it is. Looking forward to the near future for this company.

So all na based on hope?

There project is better than both okomu and presco project.

Yes, they are targeting a few cash crops too.

Palm Oil, Soyabean (Soya oil), Cassava and Maize.

"Ellah Lakes Plc. currently owns 2400 hectare Greenfield palm plantation in Edo State (on which planting has commenced and mill installation is to take place before end of Q1 2024), 5,000 hectares in Ondo State (to be used for planting of Cassava, Soybean and Maize), and approximately 3,700 hectares, located in Enugu State which is being developed for the cultivation of Soybean, and Rice. The company went into a public private partnership with the Enugu State government, taking over a strategically positioned business in the state. Three leading FMCG companies in Nigeria have already been signed up as off takers for our produce."

This one too na hope level o - #green shoot. Keen to read their next report.

Good to see your take on Ellah/Elijah Lakes grin This are the things we want to see on this forum, not the posts of the sadist/juvenile above. It is always the sweetest to get into a stock before the stock's upward journey begins. But then, it is worthy to note that Elijah lakes activities are always characterized with "WILL", yet no practical activity to suggest reality on ground. That is why someone classified them as AUDIO FARMERS. The most recent discussion we had on Elijah lakes on this forum was to the effect that someone promised to visit their farms physically to assess their work and feed us back, which we are still waiting for. We are missing some people like Sir wanajo, he would have given us the inside and off the street analysis on Elijah lakes.

I do food storage business a lot and I know my ROI, am just imagining a company into production of these products.
The probability of making it happen overweight not making it happen.

If it works out as said, the results will be loud and visible to the blind and if it goes other way round, nothing will change as I have already factored that I'm in my financial projections. No. No surprises.

If you risk just 1m you have chances of turning it into 40m in 2-3 years and if not, the worst that can happen is to lose 1m..

No pain, no gain.

Ellahlakes is my spiritual stock in mankind voice. grin grin grin

Capitas7:

My longest term subsector is investment banking. My thoughts are simple -

1. pensions are becoming more responsibilities for employees than employers.
2. the younger generations tend towards high risk high reward investments/trades (crypto etc.). When age catches up, less riskier investments will become their lifesaver.
3. ravaging inflation, currency devaluation, unemployment concerns are growing at unprecedented rates all over the world.
4. the level of japa means a lot of foreign funds will be injected into third and second world countries as "homecoming investments" in the coming decades.
5. the consciousness of financial planning/education is growing at unprecedented rates due to the internet revolution.
6. these firms know how to earn in both local and foreign currencies.

All these reasons present huge potentials for investment banks that are built on solid foundations. With UCAP trying to reach every socioeconomic strata (expanding clientele from streets to organizations), there's a bright future ahead.

Concern: how much of UCAP's growth and success stories can be attributed to efficient/stellar management? For how long is the stellar management promised, or what happens if management changes dramatically?

Microfinance is a good way of entering the streets - reaching small, medium scale businesses et al.
Could Access ever spin off an investment bank as a listed entity in the future? What future potentials does unrepentant acquisition of banks hold for Access under good management?

Think essentials, thing agriculture/agro-biz, think healthcare, think investment banking. The new essentials!

Based on current plans and progress, Ellah Lakes Plc is anticipated to commence revenue generation in 2025. Their 2,400 hectare oil palm plantation in Edo State is projected to commence oil production in 2024, and their cassava processing plant is also anticipated to be operational in 2024. Upon the operationalization of these facilities, Ellah Lakes will be able to begin selling their products and generating revenue.

Its total equity stands at 19.9 billion naira as at the end of July 2023, which has been increasing, primarily owing to land appreciation. The group has been incurring an average of 900 million naira annually to run the farm and business. I estimate that they will expend a total of approximately 2 billion naira before commencing revenue generation in 2025. This amount will be covered by land appreciation.

ELLAHLAKES possesses 5,000 hectares of land, with 2,100 hectares currently planted, while OKOMUOIL owns over 32,000 hectares of land, with 19,000 hectares planted.

Below is a simplified back-of-the-envelope calculation of what may be anticipated from ELLAHLAKES in 2025:

*Currently, OKOMUOIL generates 16.2 billion naira in profit after tax (PAT) from their 19,000 hectares.

*I project ELLAHLAKES to generate 1.8 billion naira in PAT from their 2,100 hectares proportionally.

*Assuming reduced efficiency due to ELLAHLAKES being relatively new, 0.8 x 1.8 billion naira = 1.44 billion naira in PAT.

*Earnings per share (EPS) of 1.44 billion naira / 2 = 0.72 naira.

*At the current price of 3.13 naira per share, the price-to-earnings (PE) ratio should be 4.34 compared to 14 for OKOMUOIL.

*Estimated dividend yield of (0.72 naira / 3.13 naira) x .8 = 16%.

Conclusion: If all goes well, purchasing it now or at a lower price, if feasible, would be akin to purchasing UCAP in 2020, lol.

Additionally, I have observed increased interest in the stock in the last 3 months. A stock that previously traded below 10 million naira in a month is now trading 300 million and 190 million naira monthly.

grin grin grin

This Chief used his torchlight on Ellah Lakes last year. Very insightful! That was the beginning of Ellah Lakes' attention and discussion on the forum.

Identifying a potential 10-50 bagger takes a lot of work. Respect boss!
