Due to the new policy, your wife can't accompany you on a spouse open work permit. She will be eligible for a visitor's visa. Diyke4rich: 1 Like |

Collins399:I am assuming that you have paid tuition fees right!Yes you will need to submit POF but it is not like you will need to have all the required funds in the account as initial application outside canada..If you can have funds deposited in the account, it is not a big deal. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello, Greetings everyone, please does anyone here know about a group call naira to cad exchange pound, USD, Aud foreign currency? I don't who added me to that group, but I saw them exchanging 1 cad for 1k, USD for 1300, pound for 1700. I feel they are not legit because the admin strongly warned that no one should private chat anyone outside. My question, everyone will want to sell his dollar or pound for higher rate, why are they selling below what is sold out there? If anyone here know about the group and it's genuine, should please tell me oo.🤣 awoof dey sweet, but e no go porch my belly o🤣🤣 |

Kindly assist with a friends request, he is in Canada as a visitor and he applied for study permit, wife (sowp) and children (study permit) inside Canada instead of Outside Canada. Meanwhile they have requested for medical and it has been passed but it has been 12days now since medical passed. Could the error be an issue for the delayed response. |

Babzilini: No, it is just that normal processing time, tell your friend to be patient. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by chrisifeanyi: 9:55pm On Aug 24 |
How fast can one process and get PR to Canada from Nigeria? Someone was just telling me how people are wasting fund to study in Canada whereas most of them can actually get PR while in Nigeria before travelling. Is it worth exploring? How long does it take to get ITA? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Predator188: 3:13am On Aug 25 |
chrisifeanyi:Canada is changing it's immigration policies almost every month in 2024..it is no longer business as usual getting PR from abroad in express entry draws if you are referring to express entry draws for PR,they have slowed down express entry draws overseas candidates, increasing cut off points, concentrating on those already with Canadian work experience, CEC. The only priorities in express entry daws nowadays is French language proficiency draws and once in a while health care draws.so if you have proficiency in French you can create express entry profile or work experience in health care, the other professions are uncertain. While you can still create profile anyways. On 26 of August 2024 ircc will launch francophone minority student pilot, to allow students in 33 african countries, majority are French speaking to study In Canada, they can bring family members with work or study permit and with direct pathway for PR after graduation..this can even slow down French language proficiency draws in the future.More economic policies are proposed in 2024 that may effect express draws for overseas candidates exploring PR options in express entry. 3 Likes

Hello everyone, I need your inputs. I applied for a study visa in December 2023. I was approved in January 2024 (my studies is to begin in September 2024). I am enrolled in a diploma program in a college. In April 2024, while I was still in Nigeria, I put in a visit visa application for my wife because they had banned SOWP for spouses of students in diploma programs. While we were applying for my wife's visit visa in April, I was still in Nigeria so we applied for my wife's visit visa independently and that she's going to Canada as a tourist (tourist visa). I didnt mention my study visa in her application and also used myself her one of her hometies since I was still in Nigeria at the time of applying for her visit visa. We haven't gotten a decision on her visit visa yet... This month (August) I have now arrived Canada to begin my studies next month (September) and I have gotten my study permit. My question now is, do you think i should raise a webform on my wife's visit visa application to update IRCC about my studies? Or should we just wait for a decision? Another thing to note is that my wife is currently pregnant and may deliver this month or next.. So what would you advise we do or how would you advise we proceed at this point? Thanks as I await your responses |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Holladoyheen: 7:51pm On Aug 25 |
Hello House, pls I need some clarification. I logged in to my IRCC portal now and saw application withdrawn (study visa). Can IRCC automatically withdraw my application themselves or it can only b done from my end. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by kennyjoy(m): 7:56pm On Aug 25 |
jayciekey: In my opinion, since your wife is pregnant, it would be best for her to have the baby in Nigeria while you focus on your studies. A one-month timeline isn’t practical for visa approval, submitting your passport, and booking a flight, which would be costly. Additionally, it’s not advisable for a pregnant woman to fly within a month of her due date. Bringing your wife to Canada on a visitor permit to give birth could cost you between $10,000 and $15,000, or even more unless you have the resources. In conclusion, just wait for decision, don’t worry about updating IRCC for now, concentrate on your studies and I wish your wife a safe delivery. After the baby is born, apply for the newborn’s passport and include the child in the visa applications if they still wish to visit. That’s all. |

From your previous post, hope you know that college student are not eligible for SOWP, you might also need to recheck your fund for family of four. Also studying a course below your current level education is a bad signal. Given that your application was rejected in less than two weeks of submission, Why not share your details and document submitted for the gurus here to assist you. damyzel: |
