afesco: π€ @afesco 1. I would not know if N8. M would be okay for it. That would be a generalized answer, when you did not state the number (s) of people involved, and the specific reasons for visiting. 2. However, the first thing to calculate is your to and fro flight tickets, follows by accomodation cost for the duration of stay, and unexpected expenses which must be targeted specifically towards medicals, if you do not plan to get health insurance during your stay in the USA in case of illness or injury. Best Wishes π |

I understand your concerns and I would be concerned too. There is an option on the new site to call/message them. I suggest you give that a try. Here's the link to the site- https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/country?country=NG thediva: |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Ikebabay: 9:18am On Aug 27 |
Hi. I copied the message below from the new website and I believe it addresses your case "If you had an appointment scheduled on the previous website, your appointment remains on the original date you selected. You will receive an automatic communication within the next two business days to the email address you registered on the previous website. You do not need to contact us; your instructions to set-up your account will be sent directly to your registered email address." To see it for yourself, you can visit the new site. Right at the top of the page, after the welcome message, click and expand on number 2 "Applicants with future appointments scheduled before August 26" https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/country?country=NG All the best! sanyaolurilwan: 1 Like |

Has anyone received a passport pickup email this week? My visa was issued yesterday with interview waiver (tracked on CEAC) and Iβm still waiting. |

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Browser123(f): 4:25pm On Aug 27 |
LadyCaplin:August 12th Full transparency, Iβm not seeking a visit visa. Iβm on a H visa, this is just to get the visas in our passports. We have approved petitions. There just isnβt a thread for people like me that I could find and the renewal process is the same. 4 Likes |

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 5:19pm On Aug 27 |
afesco: Hey π€ 1. If your accomodation is going to be provided by your host, that amount should be sufficient, but if you want to stay in a rented apt for the duration (4- wks) , that amount is going to be scantily enough. Either way round it's kind of enough. PS: Staying 4 wks for graduation ceremony, without side activities is much. Why not 2- wks ? Best Wishes π |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Taredi: 5:20pm On Aug 27 |
hi everyone, has anyone been able to schedule a 221g IW follow up interview on the new website? there's also no information regarding this under the websites FAQ - only information regarding administrative processing. |

I tried to create a new account on the new site but I didn't get the confirmation email so it keeps saying invalid account. Please is anyone else experiencing this? |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 6:35pm On Aug 27 |
toluolorun: Hey π€ 1. The instructions says; those with previous VISA appointments B4 the update should not sign up or tamper with the new website, they should keep checking their email for instructional notification from the embassy , which will guide them further . 2. Other applicants without prior appointments with the embassy should visit the website , sign up, choose payment option and proceed with MRV payment before they would be able to schedule an appointment. PS: If the number 2 above is not working as expected, then probably they are still updating . Best Wishes π |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by toluolorun: 7:04pm On Aug 27 |
OyoTunjiUSA: Thank you so much for your feedback. I had my appointment scheduled for last Friday but it didn't hold because I didn't appear with my 1 year old daughter who is on F2 visa based on information found on the website. Getting there, they said my daughter must appear. My sister eventually brought her but couldn't meet up cos they closed a few mins past 9am and we got there around 9:10am. It was a terrible experience. That means I have a missed appointment. I don't know if situation one will apply to me. The officers at the check in counter said I would need to apply on the new website. |

LadyCaplin:I also submitted on the 12th of July, Status still says "Application Received ". My husband picked his own 2weeks after we submitted, we submitted together. Someone mentioned yesterday that he submitted on the 10th of July and still waiting as well. |

The entire thing is so frustrating. I have been unable to reschedule my mom's appointment on this new website. I have opened a complaint ticket, called several times. No information, no feedback |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by LadyCaplin: 7:33pm On Aug 27 |
The delay is unprecedented and mind boggling to be honest. What could be the issue really? Purpleplus: |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 7:40pm On Aug 27 |
toluolorun: π€ 1. I will summarise that the appointment you missed was for renewal ? Anyways , it was the consular who was supposed to decide your faith , at worst, he or she would place you on 221g and ask you to bring your daughter at a later time, but you did not even go inside based on the confusion outside the gate ? 2. It seems you have missed the appointment, but let's hope if a twist of event could happen. If after 2 days you are not rescheduled via email, then i doubt further hope. 3. Call the embassy helpline if they can give accurate solution, otherwise, you will have to start all over. Best Wishes π |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 7:48pm On Aug 27 |
MysTeerioz: Hey π€ 1. Did you follow the instructions? The instructions says ; visit the website , sign up , choose payment option , and pay MRV before you can schedule an appointment. 2. If your mom has previous appointment date, then she does not need to visit the new website yet. She should just relax and be waiting for an instructional email from the embassy (which will guide mama on how to proceed). 3. If the sense 1 is not working yet , please give them time , today is the 2nd day. There are very likely ongoing update . Best Wishes π |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by MysTeerioz(f): 8:10pm On Aug 27 |
OyoTunjiUSA: So I initially booked drop-off on the former site but they sent a mail about picking a date for interview. The initial visa interview was Dec 5th and they rescheduled to August 13th which she couldn't attend because she is not in Nigeria, but they did not open her MRV/profile for rescheduling till Aug 16th(which they stated in their mail would be availablewithin 24-72hrs), then the service transfer. Now I have created a profile for her on this AVITS site and done the 'create application' but that doesn't even apply to her case because her visa just expired in March. I can't create and pay a new MRV when the last one hasn't been used. Please does anyone have a customer care number for their Lagos office please? |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by toluolorun: 8:14pm On Aug 27 |
OyoTunjiUSA: Yes, they confused me at the check in counter. I should have just gone in regardless. Anyway I'll call the helpline tomorrow for clarity. Thank you so much |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Lotusflowerbomb: 8:54pm On Aug 27 |
OyoTunjiUSA:Boss please is the new website expected to be better, as in can one easily see appointment date? Cos I donβt understand if this change is negative or positive. |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Habibasunramu: 9:12pm On Aug 27 |
OyoTunjiUSA: Pls does it mean you can now payment with the new website rather than going to the bank |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 9:35pm On Aug 27 |
MysTeerioz: Hey π€ 1. There is still elements of hope in your mom's scenario. The embassy states that people should keep checking the new webpage for rescheduling procedures for those who were unable to attend interview. Also check her email too. 2. I read somewhere that you have to sign up on the web for you to be able to access the helpline. I don't know if the previous phone numbers are still working . Best Wishes π |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 9:41pm On Aug 27 |
Habibasunramu: π€ 1. There are various options , including going to the bank or not. 2. The major info is that one must visit the webpage to sign up and choose payment option, after which you pay the MRV with one of those options. Best Wishes π |
