I have visited most of these states and I can attest that this is an unbiased, objective report. It is interesting to note that highly commercial states like Lagos,Anambra and Kano are among the dirtiest states.Trade/manufacturing puts a lot of pressure on the environment. Commercial cities also have very high population densities, hence, serious efforts must be made to keep such places clean using their IGRs which are also higher than other states.

Why is Imo not among the dirtiest?
Substitute the whole Abia for that Douglas Road, Ph Road and Nekede, all in Imo State.

What of Oyo State?
How about the most useless president in Africa?

Oyo is not dirty; it has many ugly-looking bungalows with zinc roofs, but the city is clean and green. Anambra and Lagos are dirty

Top 10 dirtiest states in Nigeria 2024

Akwaibom Isong o

My sister drove me round Akwaibom and I was amazed at the sanitation, fresh air, lush greenery and plum vegetation that dotted the landscape.

Akwaibom and Cross river(no wonder they are Nos 1 and 3) place premium on personal and environmental hygiene.

Lagos, though with a population that is bursting at the seams need to up their game. The governor just dey cap on that their metroline every year as if its the best achievement on the planet. With a humongous IGR, the governor should elevate the scenics and give that beautiful acquatic mileau a facelift.

Akwa Ibom
Plateau
Cross River
Enugu
In that order

It's so insulting to the word 'clean' added to Delta and Edo in the list of clean states

Lagos own is due to population
You can’t find many places in island dirty

What government need to do let local government take care or dirty collection in partners with private firm it should be compulsory bill monthly
Every house should have big waste bin and all business and public places

It is really interesting that Anambra and Lagos all bagged the dirtiest cities award in 2024 because they are 2 highly industrial cities with high waste turnover but poor management

Lagos has poor waste management.? Which state has a better waste management system that matches that of Lagos, talk less of surpassing that of Lagos?
