Even the original peak, cowbell etc, how are we sure we're taking the authentic and not one packaged in one shop like that. That's why I like buying fresh milk from Fulani cowboys and pasteurize.
This is not limited to milk, all products we consume.

You would ignorantly argue with this report if you have not had milk meant for European and American markets. I stopped buying Nigerian shit called milk after I received some packages of milk from someone in Europe.

This country is ruined on many fronts. Why do you think people are sick everywhere in Nigeria? Most of the consumables here are not fit for human consumption. The coke, Fanta, Pepsi drinks you gulp like water are not of the same quality with the ones your fellow humans consume in advanced countries, not even in South Africa. Nigeria don baje o. cry

Anytime, I am in Europe , especially in the UK , I drink fresh milk. But in France I prefer their condensed milk.
Have you tried Milo made in Australia? You will know that most Nigerians are drinking rubbish not Milo.

If we import all our milks and yet have the markets filled with inferior milk products, why are the Fulanis disturbing Nigeria with their lean cows?

If only they embraced ranching, by now they would have displaced Ireland as the hub for milk in Nigeria, instead their gworo chewing elders like Buhari are clandestinely pursuing Fulanization and Islamization to conquer other parts of Nigeria

So, the only people eating pure milk in Nigeria now are :
- newborns/breastfed babies
- cattle herders
- those who can somehow get fresh milk from cattle or the ones classified as 'milk' by the EU...

Those product you called original are not milk! According to this write up, they are milk substitute which are wrongly labels for Nigeria and West African markets!

This is what you get when a country is overdependent on imports.

Milk can be produced in Nigeria but wickedness will not allow Nigeria achieve this.

Re: Milk or Mimic: Nigeria’s dairy market, a hub for inferior EU products by casualobserver: 1:56pm On Aug 27
I remember trying to educate people on Nairaland about this a few years ago and all I got was abuse. Your so called evaporated milk and powdered milk is nothing but vegetable oil.

casualobserver:

Please go and check. Powdered milk is 29% palm oil and other stuff

You are the one saying what you don’t know. I was in this business at some point so I know. If it is not fresh milk, you are really wasting your time and deceiving yourself. The next best is UHT milk although most of the nutrients have been destroyed under UHT but it is milk. Powdered and evaporated milk is really just a waste of time, a lot of chemicals and other stuff go into making powdered or evaporated milk.

If you must drink canned milk make sure it is unsweetened full cream and dont make a habit of it.

Same way margarine is bad for you, Eat butter instead.

Cv: babaawooo47 I hope you can read. You were arguing with me last year.

Great post. These are the topics that should hit front page. NAFDAC should be educating the public about this.... and cracking down on Fat Filled Powder being labeled as milk. This kind stuff must have some negative effects on our health most likely in the long run. And we wonder why we are having so many diseases that are now common when they were rare years ago. No doubt ..we have the weather ..the land space ... everything in our favour to develop the dairy industry and be self sufficient in dairy products ... just need the right cows and to implement proper policies and support.
