If he goes to Chelsea, he has another chances to increasing his legacy footballing wise and be remembered in the form of a drogba. If he goes to saudi, he will become RICH but posterity and non-Nigerian fans will remember him as a one season wonder. Saudi moves are signing that one should do in their late 30’s not in their prime

Nna, I used to think this way until I realized no footballing career is promised. You can collect a career ending injury on your first day at a new club and that is that. Once your contract is up, you’re done.

Osimhen, in winning the Italian golden boot and Scudetto has done something most professional footballers have never done.

Playing time and funds may be promised when you sign your contract, but winning trophies isn’t.

To me, for Saudi to even come for you is still a sign of success if you think about it. There are thousands of players across Europe but only a handful are getting these bumper contracts.

Assuming the reports are to be believed about the €740K per week figure, it’s hard to tell someone to turn down that money. €130K a week is a lot but it’s almost 6x less than the Saudi offer.

Footballing legacy is a term people dangle to cover up what football has been about for the past 20-30 years; money. Football at the end of the day is a job first and foremost.

A lot of these pundits that talk about footballing legacy never had the chance to get this massive contracts from Saudi.

Footballers have a life after football. Some want to invest, build schools, start businesses etc. You need deep capital for that.

Only God knows how much Ronaldo or Neymar without kicking a ball will be collecting per week.

52 billion naira a year is crazy blood money though.

That's like a country's GDP in your bank account.

However having said this.
30m is not game-changing money.

Haaland in the Premier League earns 19.5 million, Salah earns 18.2m, De Bruyne 20m.

Move to Chelsea, break records and the oil money will never stop chasing you.

In fact, a legacy at Chelsea will see him earn these figures post-retirement

I beg to ask, why chiesa so cheap?? I remembered juve paid about 50 Mila to fiorentina in 2020.
He experienced a dip in form especially with his injury issues.

All these people advising osimehn to transfer to Saudi in his prime are indirectly accepting that he was only a “season wonder” you have a 25 year old at his prime that can win multiple European trophies including the premier league, Champions league etc and retire in a saudi league and your advising him to transfer at his prime. Why didn’t the likes of Messi, iniesta, drogba transferred to Money leagues in their prime? All these money leagues will be available even 10 years from now. But, your prime only lasts for few years. Osimehn has the ability to surpass drogba and some yes men are advising him to transfer to Saudi at his prime. Bunch of dullards

the one season wonder narrative only exists in your head. When people think of osimhen in Napoli, they will think of the guy that led Napoli to a league title in a long time, the highest scoring African in serie a, the African player of the year 2023. Your point about the time for money league is right tho. He is already making generational money even now in Europe but then if he decides Saudi is his next destination then so be it. It means our focus on the next African superstar will be on another person cos I have never seen anyone go to Saudi or any retirement league and still remain relevant in the grand scheme. Even ighalo that went to China could only secure petty minutes in Europe before running back to the mediocrity league he came from.

My friend shut up you just buttressed my point. Your claim All which happened in one season (2022/23 season) and has never been replicated. If he goes to Saudi, that’s his reputation. A one season wonder that performed for a season and decided to run away to chase money. If osimehn knows what’s good for him, he better accept that CHELSEA deal because he has the potential to surpass drogba based on his antecedents

The last sentence is a banker.

Drogba's success overshadowed by Mourinho.
Salah's success overshadowed by Klopp.
Haaland's success overshadowed by Pep.

Osimhen is going to Chelsea as a king, no blockbuster manager to contend with.
His ceiling is mega high.

Add to that, he's one of the most consistent players at national level.

At 25? He can help Chelsea win the Premier league, Fa cup, calling cup and champions league. In addition to that, he can score 100 goals for Chelsea, a higher position at the BLD and create a legacy that posterity will remember. Drogba came to Chelsea at 26 and see what drogba achieved. If he transfer to Saudi, he will be remembered as a “One season wonder” that helped to win the Seria A alongside Kvara. Infact, kvara was even listed as Seria A player of the season that year. All these emotional attachment can never replace facts and I’m so annoyed that, there are plethora of destitute dollards here who think finances are the only incentives at sports. Why didn’t messi and cristiano transfered to Money leagues in their prime

The implications should be considered for both his career and caf apoty rep. Plus he has haterz that will ring bells of fluke form even if it doesn't stick it will be loud. Those in saudi are those done with UEFA and at most won 1 UCL. He needs better uefa teammates and a better atmosphere in Europe imo
