I just confirmed something. Seems 'your friend' bought from JSE not NGX.

OandO is trading on JSE between ZAR 0.18 and 0.23 (NGN15.87 and 20.20).

We would only be concerned IF his NGX portfolio is updated to reflect the units bought... wink

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 3:43pm On Aug 29
Same company. Different Exchanges. Entirely different rules... wink

e.g. JSE does not use the ±10% daily price cap. This implies that ZAR 0.23 can become ZAR 0.001 overnight... grin

Please does anyone know when Unity Bank will return to the stock market? Insider info perhaps? Also when will UCAP bonus be allotted? These questions keep me up at night

This option is serious... angry

In my opinion, people buying NB are basing their hopes on a company they once knew, not the current reality on the ground. NB will sell for 15 naira or below when things become clearer (negative equity already). It's a very risky stock; I would stay clear of that one.

KarlTom:
IMO
The bolded is a possibility only IF USD sells for ₦2500+ (which is not looking likely) ... smiley

NB, Nestle, MTN are in same WhatsApp group.

I told you NB has big issues. You replied to me like so. Even that MTN that you are seeing is in trouble. I pointed it out then, but MCY56 talked me down. The next day, it did 10%, confirming her. So, I shut my mouth.

Where is MTN now? Do you think it's easy to sustain such losses and dismiss them so easily? Some of these companies will probably disclose even more losses when the 2024 results are out. Watch out for Dangote Sugar.

Meanwhile, some very resilient companies are being overlooked. CAP, which is in paint and owns Caplux paint, has a debt-to-equity ratio of less than 10%. I think two years ago, the debt was just 1%. And the equity has grown annually by an average of over 25% since 2019. All this forex turmoil didn't affect them; they sailed through smoothly.

I waited too long... Tomorrow I am cashing out all my Oando shares too.

Oando pullback will be epic

Bank your loot quietly.
Clean your mouth. Thank God.
Don't join the oandocast choir.
Leave Baba Market to deal with Oando as he deems fit.

So I asked ChatGPT:

Yes, you can sell OANDO shares that you bought on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), but like with SEPLAT shares, the process is not direct. Since OANDO is also dual-listed, you would need to go through a cross-border transfer process to move the shares from the JSE to the NGX before you can sell them on the NGX.

Here’s a general outline of the steps:

1. Initiate Transfer: Contact your broker to initiate the transfer of your OANDO shares from the JSE to the NGX.

2. Registrar Coordination: The company's registrar will handle the cancellation of the shares on the JSE and reissue them on the NGX.

3. Settle and Sell: After the shares are reissued on the NGX, you can then sell them through your broker on that exchange.

This process might involve fees and could take some time to complete, so it's advisable to consult your broker for detailed instructions, potential costs, and timelines.

Ok. Let's talk about NGX rules......
How is it possible for a transaction of N16 to pass thru the automated trading Engine, bypassing all the full bids at 69.95 to sell at 16?

All transaction's must pass thru the trading Engine for proper documentation, etc.
Pls note that youre not talking to dunce here....

I dey come......make i do small search....😊

Since Monday I don dey queue to get my top up 20 units, it didn't reach my turn even up till today, how someone can now buy 16 is the mystery we have to unravel here...
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 4:11pm On Aug 29
Can anyone shed more light on the REISSUE aspect?
Will the reissued units be ranked pari-pasu across exchanges OR the value on LSE will be used to reissue on the NGX?

@Ginalex.
How does it work with SEPLAT

Like an arbitrage trade, buy low in one market and sell high in another. I'm not exactly sure how it's done but I know it's possible. There'll definitely risks involved (foreign exchange risk for example)

If you place a sell order for your units tomorrow, I can bet you that it won't last 10 seconds before you see it executed. So, if na me be you ...I go by this ₦16 units to add, then sell everything at ₦70 per unit tomorrow.

For the NGX Oando or the JSE Oando?

Only ENI AGIP is worth ₦100 per share given their valuation.
