Not exactly.

There has been cases of babies being switched at hospitals by either mistake or purposely.

There was even a case of an hospital worker who did it for fun for years
shocked
That hospital worker should be shot on sight

Our hospitals are compromised. Even the general hospitals are culpable. They do all sorts of unimaginable practices there. Couples having babies there, need to be more firm, challenging and in-control. Don't just let them keep pushing you here and there, they do all sorts of hideous things there and these are young health workers for crying out loud.

Paternity fraud should be a criminal act and should be punishable by law any government that has hasn't passed that law will always be a false government to me especially all those moronic LGBTQ nations will never have my respect no matter how good or evil they think they are along with this baba bat government that we are

Paternity fraud a criminal act or else is like saying a thief or a fraudster should not be punished.

u can't expect to do a court marriage back by law, so paternity fraud must be illegal by law or else the law is not the law but a scam

But why would a woman conduct DNA test on her child? Does she not know who got her pregnant?
for a woman that sure know her onion would go for one soon as the child or children don't match her spouse for she knows she's clean, at this point hospital would get the fallout for children fraud.

FreeStuffsNG:
Very interesting data. I wish there's data on the profession, the location of the testing centers and marital status of the contact clients too.

I am not surprised that there are more men interested in determining paternity than women, it's largely because of our patriarchal traditional society. However, that percentage for women is significant. So what's the main motivation for women conducting paternity tests on their children? We grew up being told that a woman only knows the true father of her children. Has it changed now or those sampled did the test to meet emigration requirements ni?

If the testing centers are located on the Lagos Island then it will be biased to Islanders than Lagos Mainland residents. The sampling size compared to the whole population of Lagos is too small and raises doubt about how popular the paternity test service is especially if compared to data of people who use the traditional oath taking process for confirming paternity.

Above all, it's a good news overall that there's no epidemic yet and perhaps explain why Lagos has remained peaceful from generations to generations.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
first of all DNA isn't design for or to detect paternity fraud. it goes beyond that, it is originally design to confirm the relativity relationship between two or more different existence. so a woman calling for a DNA test knows fully and well (wey I know sleep with another man) she has been duped one way or the other. we've seen cases of men drugging their women for other men to sex but this case here isn't that it is clearly the hospital mostly might have done baby swapping during child birth.

But what will happen if after you have done all the needful by raising the child and another man shows up that he's the father of your now-grown-up child?

Don't be surprised that the child can let you down and follow his or her real dad.

Nawaoh....I don't know how a married woman should have the mind to open her legs for another man to sleep with her... our culture as Africans doesn't permit it and God himself as the creator of all things doesn't permit it either...so where do such women get the liver to cheat on their husbands...a man should be faithful to his wife or wives for Muslims and a woman should be faithful to her husband unconditionally...to avoid bringing disgrace to yourself when exposed through DNA test

It would have been nice to know the percentage of the couples who tested negative that are polygamists.

Person like Ned Nwoko go fit analyse things with 13 previous wives.

Furthermore, the report highlighted the demographic distribution of test requesters, with the Yoruba ethnic group accounting for the highest percentage of tests (53%)

It is a cultural thing for those people. Their women are the worst. They are very inferior when it comes to family life and raising children. Tufia!

These paternity issues will never have to arise if both man and women decide to do away with the wayward life of "chop and clean mouth". Many women will decide they want to get married to a responsible caring and loving man and raise a family BUT are not willing to give up that their "bad guy" ex bf because deep down inside us.....we still love the whoring lifestyle. Some even go to the extent of chopping one last mouth on the eve of their wedding all in the vein to do "one last one for the road". dont be surprise to find out that a large percentage of families with paternity issues is with the 1st child of the union......that "one for the road" go come turn life wahala.

1st my marriage is built on trust.
2nd, I'm not in anyway against DNA, but if I didn't detect any reason to do a DNA &went ahead to nurture a child to being old enough to see me as daddy, then I wouldn't be needing a DNA.

Anyway, that's my personal stance.
