Don't mind them.
These Nigerian "abroad" fantasists amaze me.
They would dream of a perfect picture of a country they have never visited and
have little to no idea of how low-wage workers survive.

Imagine comparing a toilet cleaner to a bank manager?

That toilet cleaner can travel around the World for holiday if he or she is a citizen can bank manger do the same?

I moved to america with out an education or skill
I got a part time job with ups and at same time was eligible for career choice meaning any school I want to go they will pay
I decided to get my CDL to drive a truck which pays better
After that I I found another job with Amazon full time while I’m still working with ups and hold my CDL and about transitioning to trucking department but when I got to Amazon the feeling was different

I got a whole lot more offers
Like learning how to drive forklift
Learn Amazon robotics
Learn Amazon web services and also got a career choice to choose from list of schools to advance my self and move to the management team if I want to
Currently I’m doing a bsc on cybersecurity
Fully paid for by Amazon
And mind you I’m still with ups part time
I’m planning on leaving ups and move to Amazon full time once I get my schedule changed from Monday to Friday cause my normal schedule are Tuesday to Saturday
I’ve 60hours work week and I earn 23$ an hour In Amazon while I earn 21$ with ups
Why I choose Amazon everything is automated
From picking to stowing
To packing, buffering, sorting etc
But ups is all manual and the management are too hostile but In a I love ups still cause it my first job in the US

Come to Amazon or ups and see cars small boys or 19-23 years drive and you will wonder if it a warehouse job

I’ve meet some nigeria and all of them have their own cars and living on their and doing very well

I’m not downgrading Nigeria but the truth is our leaders are wicked and the worst part their are some evil people who support their wickedness just for selfish and wicked reasons
And yes a cleaner in Amazon is doing so well than a bank manger in Nigeria
Even before I started school and all that I’ve access to benefits in both ups and Amazon but I picked Amazon cause their benefits are top notch
If you’re not a billionaire or a millionaire in Nigeria you can’t even think of having a life insurance
As I’m talking to you I’ve 246,000$ worth of life insurance which I service with just 0.34$ every week to stay updated so when I die my family will have something to fall back on
I got all this as a mere warehouse worker
I’ve not even mentioned other benefits cause you will be shocked

When people come online and talk nonsense Nigeria is better I just laugh
I had that mind set till reality set in and I moved and I thank God I wasn’t late

Here in America you can be a school dropout and still make six figures
No one is bigger than anyone here
If you like drive Lamborghini no one cares

In every country they have their own up and down but you see america, Canada, Australia, uk, New Zealand, Norway,Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy are better but America na the king of all

Unlikely to own a car in the first place.

A toilet cleaner won't be kidnapped in Nigeria either. Use your brain.

Anyone in Nigeria with a cheap generator can have 24/7 electricity.

Not necessarily. There are very long waiting lists for operations and surgery in the UK's NHS for example. You have to wait YEARS for an operation in some cases. Many perish before their turn. Only the rich who can afford the monstrously expensive private hospitals can be guaranteed of ''excellent medicare''. SAME AS IN NIGERIA.

A toilet cleaner is more likely to be shot in America or stabbed in the UK, or get his house burgled, than meet any armed robbers in Nigeria.

WRONG. Toilet cleaners in the west are among the underclass who tend to eat cheap, processed foods like frozen pizza, frozen chips, and eat junk food. A Nigerian bank manger eats fresh, highly nutritious, natural, organic foods.

Not necessarily. Some of them live in terrible places a Nigerian bank manager could never live.

Free education is not new to Nigeria. How old are you?

What studies have you conducted to make that claim?

You can't just come online and make outrageous claims from your big, loud IPOB terrorist OUTCAST lips.

IPOB has eaten deep into your thinking I love it .

Yes. It's why I asked my friend as I don forget how much Nigerian corporate workers earn. I hope she replies. Those days, I had the raw data but inflation and Buhari have rendered them obsolete embarassed

Right. And keep in mind that pay hasn’t gone up in the same way inflation did.

When I was a teenager/adolescent adult, my mom was chief nursing officer in a govt hospital and even for a civil servant that was a nice spot to be. Since that time, income hasn’t been reviewed and they still earn the same income from then. Especially those of them who retired in their positions at that income rate.

You can’t even do much with that same amount of money now. That’s how these conversations come about

I do appauld/admire developed countries' elites for ensuring there's upward mobility, to a large extent meritocracy and rule of law. But that cleaner in the US doing better than a bank manager in Nigeria isn't the right comparison.

P.S. I applaud you for what you have achieved.

Fair assessment depending on location. And yes, that's a middle class lifestyle by Nigerian standards. Every bank manager earned more than 500K even before I did NYSC. So, by now, the minimum should be 1.5M per month. Bank managers are big boys in Nigerian corporate world.
Im not resigned to bank managers alone thats at the top end,
Many people on here don't even earn up to N500k a month is this not Factual?

Most of what you typed was misleading.

It was shocking that despite claiming to live in the US for many years, you could not understand that those cars you wrote that your warehouse colleagues were riding were being financed and not fully paid for. They must pay certain amount, depending on the choice of car, every month, otherwise the car will be taken from them.

You mentioned many countries and made US to be king of all without any justification. Each individual has a unique case, and you can’t just generalise.

Maybe your lack of education made you think a toilet cleaner is better than a bank manager in Nigeria.

This is why the whites call blacks names; how you guys try hard to even bring this topic to the cyberspace is shocking. These new sets of japa are the worse, individuals with no hope of getting visas are now having gullible opinion.

Leave them to their stupid analysis.

Full time bank workers go abroad to shop and come back to the country.

Leave these low lifers to their opinion. Most of them never had a life while in Nigeria, so it’s normal for them to be intoxicated when they see their first 1000 USD or GBP.

When we say a toilet cleaner in USA, Canada, UK, Australia is better than the manger of zenith bank, what we mean is that the toilet cleaner will never suffer what you are currently suffering in Nigeria.

Example include:

A. A toilet cleaner will never queue for fuel.
B. A toilet cleaner is less likely to be kidnapped in those countries
C. A toilet cleaner has 24/7 electricity.
D. A toilet cleaner has access to excellent Medicare.
E. A toilet cleaner is less likely exposed to armed robbers
F. A toilet cleaner eats better food and fruits than your bank manager.
G A toilet cleaner has access to good amenities
H. A toilet cleaner may have his children schooling for free in primary and high school
I. A toilet cleaner has a longer live expectancy than your bank manager in Nigeria.

i don't blame you for being so miopic. What it the joy of being a toilet cleaner or even better than that if you will always be treated like shit. so that's what's giving you joy?

It’s more of a cultural thing. Africans pay for all they own. They prefer it. The West create a bubble to make you feel you are okay, meanwhile you are buried in debt.

So why making it sound like your colleagues are driving cars which they fully paid for?

Debt is the way the world works, have you not seen it?
All developed countries are in Debt, but Nigeria is in debt yet we are not remotely developed.
Its such a bad idea for one to pay upfront for their car when they can invest tha money in something that will bring money. However if buying a 90K car is ur cup of tea so be it, like that guy said if you like drive a lambo or a roly no one cares here.

Do you know any toilet cleaner that said they are poor, look, be definition, if you earn N400k in Nigeria you are real poor by reflection of inflation, you are living in poverty, you cant build a house, even renting in the cities is out of reach
Now, do the comparison.
£42.24 × 30 days = £1267.2

Compare that to someone who is earning 400k assuming the person is living in the UK and is earning the 400k in pounds

Cleaners are poor everywhere
