Whatever respite the average Nigerian gets under this government would be completely incidental.

The contraption is in complete control of a GBoy...if it serves his larger interests to make it 3k/$, best believe that's what the Naira would trade for.

The original marketcap growth livelongnprospa brought was in Naira to claim it's Tinubu effect. I just dey clear am by saying it's only partly so and some of it is dollar effect.

This is the major reason why people need to separate Finance/Accounting from Economics.

Finance will tell you FAAC allocation has increased since Tinubu came into power but Economics will tell you NO. Nothing increased, it might even tell you it decreases if you factor in the exchange rate.

Finance will tell you NNPCL just made the highest profit in years but Economics will tell you NNPCL just made the lowest profit in years if you factor in the exchange rate.

Dollar is a universal currency, the S.I unit of currencies and everything is measured using dollar.

I have a question especially for those who go have lived in the west or have mixed with people of other races over time.

Is it just Africans that see epilepsy as a spiritual ailment or there are other people like Chinese , Indians , asians (in general), Arabs , westerners , etc who also believe epilepsy is spiritual?

I remember one of our neighbor’s daughters ; Aunty T while growing up. Aunty T used to drop me and two of her younger siblings way back in primary school. She also picks us from school during closing hours. Aunty T then was already in her 20’s while we were in primary 3 and 4 respectively .

We never knew she had epilepsy until one day she was taking us home and she had seizure on the main road. We were confused as kids that we are, we started crying not knowing what is happening to her . She foamed in her mouth and the elderly people there had to cover her up while the seizure lasted . I guess her younger siblings whom we were together never really saw her that way before too.

After the whole thing she became conscious and she had this sense of shame sha. That was the beginning of a tortuous period , she had those seizures severally afterwards and almost everyone in the neighborhood knew of her condition .

The parents spent a great deal of fortune taking her to medical centers , trado-medical centers , spiritualists and even all these white garment prophets . This Aunty’s life was placed on hold ; she couldn’t proceed to university because of her condition cos things got worse. There were instances she had seizure while cooking and her face burned because she fell unconscious directly over the fire she was cooking from.

At a point the thing caused friction between the parents because the father who studied in Germany for his tertiary education believed it was a medical condition that needs to be managed and the mum thinks it is spiritual ailment that can be cured. You know a woman who cares about all her children thinks it’s not normal for her second born to be stuck with epilepsy while her 3rd , 4th and 5th born are forging ahead with their tertiary education and getting good jobs .

The last I knew of Aunty T, she had a child after several guys ran off witnessing her seizure for the first time.

When I was much more grown and I read about epilepsy , I remember their mum once narrated to my mum how aunty T as a young child was playing outside and somehow got stuck under a car unknown to anyone. The driver of the car entered his vehicle and drove the vehicle for a long distance before people informed him a child was under the vehicle he was driving.

Apparently , the vehicle dragged her on the floor with her head experiencing serious trauma in the process . She was taken to the hospital and all the bruises were treated and she was declared fine . My book mind tells me her epilepsy is linked to the head trauma she had as a young child child in that incident which later manifested in her 20’s ; but the African mentality of enemies shooting “evil arrow “ made it hard to actually conclude if it was spiritual or medical condition.

My own concern is ; with the way this Dangote refinery coming onboard is being celebrated , will that Port harcourt refinery and other NNPC owned refinery see the light of the day ?

I mean let’s say Port Harcourt refinery comes onboard next month , but what happens to Dangote refinery ? Where will Dangote be getting his crude ? Will FG not sell crude to PH refinery and sell to Dangote Refinery instead ?

Or did NNPC suddenly ramp up crude production to the extent that they can give crude to Dangote, give crude to PH refinery and still be able to meet OPEC quota ? Will NNPC still be able to be profitable when they are selling few crude in dollars while selling majority in Naira to Dangote , PH refinery and other refineries coming onboard ?

I read about the discrimination, how they avoid them like plague
I had 2 experiences with epileptic patient
The first one was a boy in the neighborhood, his parents had to abandon cause of shame, I was young then I saw him had the attack he hit his head on hard surface and that was it he died, elderly people were around but no one wanted to touch him
They said it's warapa

The other one happened in my adult life, my colleague at work had the attack but this is a more educated environment what we did was to make sure his head didn't suffer any more trauma by placing it on a pillow
Then we called his parents who came immediately
The boy even travelled to UK the next week to have a break and resume like nothing happened

The discrimination is real and it is mostly due to the fact that people feared epilepsy is contagious just by getting physically closer to an epileptic person.

When people talk about depression, mental health and some of the newly christened ailments, they sometimes forget about how life is difficult for people living with epilepsy. It's almost impossible for epileptic patient to live normal life in this part of the world. They lose their relationships immediately their lovers witness their seizure for the first time.

In this part of the world, it is almost impossible to avoid all the warning triggers for epilepsy. In fact, a lot of people don't even know it has warning triggers that need to be avoided sef.

I'm always scared when I see kids falling over their head and parents dismiss it as nothing.

The base price for gasoline as of the last hour is $0.52/L. At 1611/$ (yesterday's closing rate), that comes to N838/L.
Put differently, if you want to place an order for cargo at a US refinery for gasoline in the last hour for an October delivery, the base price is N838/L.
That's before any factoring for grades, shipping, loading and port fees, storage and what have you.

Dangote is giving NNPCL ex-factory, "because say na you" price.
No middlemen.
If they don't buy, he'll sell on the open market. Retail rate in Ghana is above N1400. Their downstream players enjoy a generous profit margin.

Unfortunately, there is no hard evidence that anything can be done to prevent post-traumatic epilepsy. The best thing is to prevent the head injury in the first place, because after the injury the one that will lead to Epilepsy will lead to Epilepsy.

Prevention of head injury by wearing helmets and using seat belts is the key. Sadly, Nigerians are allergic to wearing helmets.

N.B Post-traumatic epilepsy is not exactly the same as an acute post-traumatic seizure.

The base price as accepted by the world isn't the issue here.....

We have been importing even paying landing cost as well as other pms related expenses yet were paying way below the price at fuel stations..

All of a sudden, there are statements about smuggling and incompetency at the border garnished with some debts......

Within 2 days a jack up of pms price wch corresponds roughly with the "almighty dangote" pump price is released..

If you believe Dangote is selling way below market price without some sort of agreement which I termed [sinister understanding] then u can believe anything...

What is the price of diesel today at NNPC?
If Dangote was not supplying diesel, it will cost above 1400 per liter in Lagos (higher in other jurisdictions).
A $ is 1610-1640.

Dangote's sales rate to NNPCL is not by itself the reason for the pump price change.
NNPCL used Dangote's intro as an opportunity or smokescreen to raise the rates and cut its per liter subsidy, shortfall, under recovery or whatever they call it.

Dangote has a set rate to sell his gasoline like he has for all his other refined products.
NNPCL can either pay or a foreign off taker will gladly take it off his hands.
NNPCL has been playing games but let's keep our eye on the ball.

You still haven't explained how Dangote is selling below the globally accepted price

Do you actually believed there was a transparent undertaking wch involved the Naira swap, hence, the released price of 897 as against real price...

If Naira vs dollars drops, will there not be a corresponding flexibility of the pump price?...

In all,I appreciate ur response thus far but I don't really believe the fact that NNPC saw d price hence adjusted......I believe there was some agreement bw both parties

I have only come across Epilepsy once. They have full time carers here if they have severe epilepsy so it's a recognised medical condition

Just before covid, I went to a pay-to-play football game where you just turn up, pay and you don't know the other players. I was harassing the left winger regularly for not tracking back, that's when the LB came and told me to go easy on him, that he has epilepsy and if he overdo, he will have a seizure, and he (left-back) is his carer. True true before the match ended, that guy had a seizure on the pitch and the LB recovered him. It looked like something from the exorcist movie.

There will be an increase that will reflect in NNPCL's books.
The open question is if they'll pass the cost on to consumers. And if so, when the price change will be effected.

The theory, at least according to a makeshift in-country economic consensus, is that by axing a huge chunk of $ transactions; the FX rate will be more stable. Fewer naira chasing the $. And the wild swings we'd been accustomed to will significantly reduce if not cease.
If the naira crashes to the dollar anyway, gas prices will go up like they habitually do.
