states that say they cant pay 70k min wage, how will they fund state police?

Those can't and won't fund state police. Their local issues aren't a national concern. The states can and are willing will be the first. Look at state prisons as the case study. Any state can establish a state prison but none of them have.

It won't be as successful as we think it's going to be. Reason for this is the tribal sentiment element, one tribe dominating the police will cause friction. So Federal character will have to play into it, in the sense that not one tribe hold sway over the other. Especially for states with multiple tribes, but their overall aim will be preservation of the state and the protection of its people. Studying Afghanistan will be a good starting point but that nation have so much similarities with Nigeria. Only difference now is that they have managed to an extent to put most tribes under the totalitarian Islamic rule.
federal character in indigenous people's state Indigenous people should constitute their state police and you constitute your state police too from ur state of origin.

It will come as a shock, just imagine states with multiple tribes. For example delta state, where the urhobos are the majority then you have the isokos, itsekiris, ijaws and northern delta. What would the state police personnel consistitue of? I feel it will even end up magnifying issues that where never there. Take a look at south sudan, after years of fighting the arabs sudan they still ended up fighting themselves. And there's still tension within the southern tribes, these are people that where share the same religion and culture. I am just saying tho, because I might be wrong.

You are only spinning your own narrative to an imperative action that would set the ground norm for a great country we all seek just because I hate tinubu's face......it doesn't matter who does it so far it's what will augur well for us all,it's long over due .....with this policy, the power of Abuja will be greatly diminished and more responsibility given to states.

As for state that can't take on 70k minimum wage,I already told you that is a very lame escapist analogy by the lazy govs who want status quo to remain to their own benefit.....if you support them good luck to you!! No gov has no excuse not to pay 70k minimum wage......there will be a provision in the law that will make states start state policing when they are ready to,such states will still make use of the federal police buts states that can would be allowed to go ahead.
Hate tinubu all you want but he is one of the most purposeful politicians we have in the south alongside Wike, they are bold and have the political will to push anything they want unlike GEJ.....nobody can push them around remember it was Wike that brought up the vat matter, tinubu has brought lg autonomy and state police, this are what we need to set us on a pedestal for development no more Abuja controling what happens in your LGA.

how is LG autonomy and state police the "ground norm for a great country we all seek"?

how is the lack of LG autonomy and state police responsible for nigeria not being "a great country we all seek"?

if you say the governors are lazy, how will having state police now automatically make them hardworking?

can you identify the "hate" you are talking about?

how is tinubu purposeful? how has his purposefulness resulted in him fulfilling the oath he swore on May 29, 2023 as follows:

I, .............. do solemnly swear/affirm that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I will discharge my duties to the best of my ability, faithfully and in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the law, and always in the interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well-being and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that I will strive to preserve the Fundamental Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy contained in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that I will not allow my personal interest to influence my official conduct or my official decisions; that I will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that I will abide by the Code of Conduct contained in the Fifth Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; that in all circumstances, I will do right to all manner of people, according to law, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will; that I will not directly or indirectly communicate or reveal to any person any matter which shall be brought under my consideration or shall become known to me as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, except as may be required for the due discharge of my duties as President; and that I will devote myself to the service and well-being of the people of Nigeria. So help me God.

how has tinubu and wikes purposefulness and boldness in politics resulted in better standard of living for nigerians?

sorry, what Jonathan got to do with the discussion?

Leaders with foresight is what we have been lacking as a country but this one seems to have the political will to right some wrongs we have been suffering for a long time......you have heard stories of certain tribes killing certain locals over land or livestock, the CP or gov can't act immediately to check them because they have to await directive from Abuja which may be delayed or may never come.....that's the problem we are facing with our current security architecture.

Govs for too long have been hiding under Abuja and pointing fingers to cover their own ineptitude now they are getting blown out of the water as more responsibility is being pushed to them, how can a gov say he can't pay 70k minimum wage and you agree with him, that's nothing but BS,if you aren't competent, leave the damn place for those who can.

I tell you, this policing move and LG autonomy are the game changers that would steer us towards wholistic development as a country especially the sub nationals......some regions are contributing so much to our GDP while some are doing absolutely nothing....we cant continue like this....... everything isn't tinubu,Buhari or Jonathan,Nigeria as a country is defective and we need to start changing things for our own good.

pls how are state police and LG autonomy the game changers that would steer us towards wholistic development?

if you say governors are inept, is it state police and LG autonomy that will now make competent?

what makes nigeria defective? is it lack of state police and LG autonomy?

what are the things that need to be changed for our won good?

It's on record that Nigeria faired best when we practiced regionalism as against what we have now.....even LG chairmen would point fingers at abuja for not being able to provide basic education or primary health care......more responsibility means more resources and thats what LG autonomy seeks to solve.

Our security architecture has been parlous over the years due to inefficient command structures....domesticate security and let the people be in charge of their security which they have been doing in many parts of Lagos already.....the dpo to the nearest division in my area isn't even known to many and has no link what so ever with the locality....how do you get such to be committed to his duty.
