I think Oando will start putting brakes on its fall tomorrow, if it closes low at all. I think Oando will cross 100 based on observation. It has exchanged over 24 billion naira in the last 5 days. Even today, with the risk of further decline, it managed to exchange 3.2 billion naira, which is 2 million dollars (at a rate of 1600). This is just observational analysis and not buy or sell advice. shocked

It exchanged 1.4 billion naira today, which is actually a good thing for the people riding it because it means that many of the bids chasing the stock didn't get it. You want to see exchanged funds in the millions of naira so they can slow down the eventual exhaustion of funds. There are still billions trying to get in, and the slower, the better for now. Those of you who went in late due to "wolves in sheep's clothing" will be fine. Again, this is mere observational analysis and not any form of buy/sell coercion. shocked

Seplat has been on full bid since, but the 100k single transactiin remains the main issue.
It might not get it unless one of the ogas does the needful.
Because of that rule, stocks like this need special intervention to make any movement
That flat 100K unit threshold for all stocks is actually to the disfavour of those invested in high cap-low OS stocks.

Tinubu is a madman. This scheme has always been one of his plans, but he is trying to implement it without people knowing and compromising it by bringing their brothers from neighboring countries up north. Although I strongly believe having a robust, accurate, and reliable national database is essential to effective poverty alleviation and a general social security system, people should not be dehumanized before we can establish a working national database usable for many economic and security planning purposes.

Regulatory changes are very slow in the NGX. They have been talking about changing this 100k unit single trade for more than 5 years.

Couldn't have been better said. You won't even be surprised to discover that despite SEPLAT's very low outstanding 583 million shares, its free-float might be about the minimum 20% allowed therefore making the tradeable shares in the neighborhood of just 117m. Then one can now understand better how bad the 100K units difficulty is for the stock.
My prayers are with those in SEPLAT and similar stocks.

Don't you think that even the 50k is still too small for stocks like SEPLAT, Nestle, Geregu, Total and, CONOIL?
I think the management boards and some shareholders of these companies have to stage a protest to the exchange one day if this reversal is to be considered at all.

But it wasn't so initially. I recall that in the days of Onyiuke Okereke (permit my possibly wrong spelling) a stock like NESTLE needed only 5K units to move.

The only time I enter stocks like SEPLAT is when it falls by 10% for three to four consecutive trading days. Under such a circumstance, the threshold volume is easily released by the major holders to drive it back up.

It is not to their disfavour, rather to trader's disfavour. Traders would have be the one dictating the direction of those big caps if they apply 5k units threshold. Traders avoid MTN and Dangcem even with high OS. grin grin grin

What is the reason behind the 100k rule? Was there a particular incident or what are NGX trying to avoid. Honestly, the NASD method of using a Volume Weighted Average Price reflects demand and supply dynamics better in terms of price movement

A point also..
Weighted Majority owners(Major shareholders) determine the market value of their company rather than the simple majority
(mostly retail investors/traders)

It's 20% or 20bn.
117m is too far sef.
Just about 5.5million shares is enough to meet free float @ current price.. 😂😂
So theres no how they won't meet free float.

It's a really a good paying stock for early n patient entrants.
