The team still needs positional organization to help them build up plays better and also defend better. This will reduce rash tackles and careless giveaways of the ball.

Exactly
We were not positionally organized
Too many gaps and our build up plays were ponderous
As a matter of fact, if not for Lookman's individual brilliance to score that first half goal, we were already playing right into Gernot Rohr's hands

But then again, it was the coach's first game with this group
I expect improvements in Kigali

They were passing the ball better than us yet we had more %
We got better with passes in the 2nd half.

Zaidu that can't cross the ball to save his life

He does cross well sometimes
But he always gets into good positions and gives us good offensive presence down that flank
I'm happy we have Bruno
It can only get better

It's an admirable victory. The gulf between smaller countries and established football nations has decreased considerably and Benin are a testament to that trend. Just look at how Georgia whipped Czechia.

We hope to restore complete confidence with a dominant win over Rwanda.

Benin has always been stubborn to Super eagles this is the first time we beating with over 3clean goals…its always been 2-0,1-0,2-1,1-0 in 6meetings

All of them except Ekong were in Primary school when Eguavoen was doing wonders in 2006. They wan mad ni? grin

Plus they no get choice. He's not the kind that will be on the disrespect consideration list. Nigerians won't support such a player no matter how big he is.

The only player he once had issue with was Yakubu then because he opted to play Makinde of Palermo Italy instead then

According to him Makinde was in blazing form and he couldn't overlook him simply because him and Yakubu are from the same state and that caused a rift between them

One good thing about AE is that his 23/24 man team selection to a large extent is fair and deviod of questionable call ups

True
Scoring first helped
So Benin had to come out and play
When they were playing compact in the first half, we were finding it difficult to pass
And because we didn't have ball playing midfielders, we were struggling to control the game

Better teams might have scored us first and that would have been a problem
We can't play with this midfield against better teams
They would punish us severely

I was happy with Bruno performance today. Did anyone notice he was not even invited in the last two games.
Haba Finidi! and he has been the assistant coach to Jose pedro. He didnt know that this guy was good.

And the player that play left back in the last two games was taminiu.

Is a shame. What did finidi learn from peserro, Nothing.

Finidi call ups was so questionable

When is the CHAN qualifiers starting

We can use the NPFL players to prosecute the match

This is what I said about Finidi then not continuing from where we stopped at Afcon, Eguavoen just borrow sense and tweaked things a bit from the Afcon pattern of play

He said it that he was going to have a word with the players

That few weeks ago they almost won the AFCON and now what changed? Why are they now struggling to win matches?

That he needs to rekindle their mentality and let them know they still have it in them

Awoniyi. I don't think he's in the Super Eagles. And this is not about his quality. Some players for some reason are just never a part of the team.

Good performance and more importantly a good result.
However, the uncertainty around the coaching situation needs to be addressed squarely for consistency.
This team is clearly brimming with talent but needs proper support and management.

I don't agree, if Boniface had converted some chances in the first half we would have been 2 or 3 goals up at the end of 45 mins, not scoring early enough in the first half was the only sin committed by the Eagles and Boniface in particular, did those chances just happened? no nah, For a team that scored 3 unreplied goals shows they did so many things right including positioning and build-up plays. Even at afcon the Eagles never played with such a level of organisation. Let's not be too critical, Rohr and his team had no answer to the Eagles even after 45 minutes, they were lucky to be down by just a goal in the first half. It would have been a complete whitewash if Osihmen had converted all his chances too.

One thing u cant associate eguavoen with is corruption…during mikel u-17 years,he was live in a radio program wc he opened up dt he rejected a 500k bribe from one of a prospective players agent and challenged anybody to call the live programme if he has collected anybody’s money b4 selecting the squad..no body called to challenge him

Those years of Makinwa and co. One thing about AE is selection is his forte. But tactically, that's the crux
