Amodu of 2010. You could not even follow his exploits in the 2008/2009 WC/NC qualifiers. Ha ha
oga Amodu maintains his patterns, whatever he did in 2008/2009 he replicated iin 2010 okay

I have never seen Ademola Lookman play in the manner he did yesterday.
Offensively and defensively he was everywhere.
He is a tough guy and he has this "never give up spirit' fight till the last whistle. You need to watch his pre-season work out and attest to what I'm saying.
Don't look down on his small body stature, He is a fighter.

That's the problem

When Jose Peseiro lost woefully to portugal they say give him more time

Why can't we give time to our home grown coaches to also do better

Imagine just one lose for Finidi George and they were planning to geta foreigner who doesn't even have African experience or a good c.v to become his boss he did a honourable thing to walk away

Okey let hire English men to take over our NFF class house
We need a little faith in our own. Football coaching is knowledge. What Eguavoen doesn't know or whatever his lapses, he should be given resources to improve on it.

His record as our coach is quite impressive but he's never been given time.

Let's see how far his immature antics on twitter will get him

See the way they were yabbing him yesterday on X saying he is a meme lord. Shame come catch me for am.

I have faith in him but he should get a grip on his Twitter antics.

Oga Meli, you don’t rate Lookman and it’s normal in football just say you got it wrong than telling us that you never seen him played like he did against Benin.

He did it against tougher opponents Cameroon,Angola or you forgot his cross to Osimhen against EG.He worked offensively and defensively in Afcon….Lookman is a player to be rated after Osimhen in eagles.

I don’t rate Ekong but I ate my words.Ekong is my number one in eagles defence, even in my top three rated eagles players list…Osimhen,Lookman and Ekong.Another player that is catching my attention is Onyedika, his foots on the ball is a class.

You go wait tire, you think everybody is as dumb as you. We give flowers to whom it's due, and even if the person has a bad day, smart people know.

Waiter, go serve food.

yeah, one time i saw him lost the ball in the opposition box and saw him sprinting back to defend as benin played the ball into our half, i mean his sprint was like running after the ball to go score! i was so impressed as same time glad for such
he is truly Nigeria's new face of football

Sir,your comment here is all about Osimhen a better player than Lookman.Till date,Osimhen has the followers and well love by many,so if few are saying Lookman is the new face, let’s us respect their opinions and good for eagles having another player that world is acknowledging and hope to see the likes of Onyedika,Bashiru emerging as world class.
I think his point is more to the effect that we should avoid the kind of comparison that can drive a wedge between the players.

I think we can agree that Osimhen gives or provides Lookman with space to operate.

Inevitably fans will compare one player to another. We can't help it. It is for the players to have a big heart and see the achievement of the task as more important than pursuing personal glory

With the blessing of Lookman and Bashiru, I just dare to imagine the kind of lineups we'd have if the country and its NFF actually worked as it should!

Chukwueze had a good game too. If that boy adds that predator instinct of Lookman, it is game over for Africa

Your last paragraph summed it all….I love the team spirit yesterday and there is need for Eguavoen to sit Osimhen and Lookman down to avoid Yekini/Siasia scenario against Ivory Coast

At times it takes watching a match again to notice things. In a match like that where more than half of the squad played very well, some people overlook others.

Then we should ask ourselves if he has that "predator instinct" in him when playing for the SE

I trust you to always bring the historical perspective to things. If it happened between Siasia and Rashidi then without social media, imagine what it would be like with SM now where players interact directly with fans.

I really just hope Eguaveon is given time. Has ever stayed up to 2 years as our coach? I doubt.

I stand with you in your last paragraph. I love ekong as a person but never rated him as a player, even my love for him made me ignore some of his mistakes since debuting for the national team but it’s a thing of joy to see how far he has grown and matured as a player

Our current defensive set up is porous without Ekong’s presence. He is now that colossal figure that is needed in every team’s defense line. Seeing him in our defense of late brings some level of confidence that I can’t even explain. The older he grows the better he gets

I think it will be ideal for the national team handlers to start grooming a young CB to take over from him and the sooner the better. His wealth of experience and exposure will be a great learning tool to any young CB he takes under his wings.

It’s high time the national team handlers look beyond Awaziem and co and try out younger defensive talents like Ogbu,Okoli,Fredricks,Vince etc as under study to legendary Ekong

We conceded in all our games after the AFCON when there was no Williams Troost-Ekong, he came back, and in his first game back, we kept a clean sheet!

Very true. They play very similarly.
But victor was better in terms of dribbling and defending. Lookman is offense and intelligence.

Everything is not luck
Siasia was simply beaten by a better side that has Messi period

But if you look at the style of play you'll see a coach that know what he is doing

How many coach can take you back back medals winning in Olympics. Siasia did

For Eguavon hmm
The only time he was given enough time,he took as to AfCON 3rd place finish in Egypt. Not different from what Rorh and other whites do

The other 2 instance he can on rescue just like the yesterday own

Imagine calling him a week to a major game to prepare a team. When the white dude turn NFF down

The hurriedly ask him to lead the team. Assuming we lost they will say Eguavon bad luck

But we forget NFF are the clueless once. Who will always resort to fire brigade approach.

But in few days we saw his input on the team. The same Benin that beat us 2-1 some week back lost woefully 0-3 to Nigeria.

Beniln Republic of course know own strength and weakness and wanted to just seat back soack the pressure and finish an the counter but Eguavon tactics 3-4-3 on the night mess them up.

So I honestly think if given to either Eguavon or Siasia or Amunike can deliver perfectly

In this life what is key is potential. Eguaveon has shown us too many times that he has it in him but once he enters pot hole, we start shouting for him to be relieved of the job but whenever we are in a jam, it is him we call to rescue us.

Why don't we give this man time, give him training, give him all the technical support and resources he needs to enter into that place where even his failure will not make us sack him but allow him to go on until this flashes of brilliance becomes steady light?

You see this is why I'm not hard on Boniface. He showed flashes. He got into position. Let us give him time.
