I been think you park your car o....

Said I won’t queue to buy fuel at 885. I’ll rather park the car.

During this last madness, I left home around 5 30am and got back around 6pm. That’s my worst search for fuel ever.

Bolt agent. Is that you If you think drivers still make money as before and they are happy with the ridiculous fare prices along with riders bonus deducted after successful ride, God will judge you!!. If bolt ain't heartless why can't they charge riders bonus from their commissions?? And why do you think drivers like doing offline trips and charging extra fees??. Come do you know what? Go and sit down if you don't have reasonable thing to contribute here..

Some of them are living from hand to mouth and if they don't come out in a day, they will go hungry....
yeah that's the problem.....plus most of them on rental just see it as they have to work more instead of them to bargain for a better price. But you know in there situation na car go suffer am and no be dem get the motor

What do you have to say about this??.. even with that Uber fares price. Drivers are still complaining.. maybe some of you still buy fuel at the rate of 500 naira per Litre.

Na like this Bolt take spoil market for this Lagos. Although Uber was too high handed.
The drivers they blocked all ran to Bolt.

I think the app companies should come together and have a unified price. New comers shouldn't be allowed to operate with crashed prices in a bid to get market share.
If the app companies will not agree then we need regulation.

If they have uniform price, what will be the reason to use more than 1 app?

I don't think that would be possible coz that's the only thing that gives room for competition..

I honestly don’t want to dabble into this price of a thing too deep. It’s not today, market will regulate itself. My most concern is the state of the nation, maybe the importers are the ones enjoying and on the flip, they’ll tell you they don’t have money to import goods. Workers are already complaining of hikes in transportation, food stuffs will follow soon. Cost of maintaining car is sick. If things continue in this progression, one may not be able to buy same car after 2 years. E.g if one buy Corolla like 2 years ago for this hustle, can we say we’ve saved to enable us buy same car at present value? I guess the challenges of life is another hurdle ( taking care of family and paying bills).

About price… if fuel goes back to 100 naira today, the app won’t automatically reset back to the value of such. It will take some time. The only problem I have here is drivers not ignoring some trips. Drivers inability not to off their app. If some go offline, it will be surge for another. All in all, let all man do what works for them..

You rookies are getting it wrong!

Bonus given to riders doesn't affect you. You get your full money from Bolt because bolt will balance you whatever was given to the rider.

Go to the details to confirm this.

And I see no reasons for being abusive when someone doesn't support your opinion undecided .

As someone said, many drivers feed from hand to mouth, (no work no chop). I have done just 3 trips this week and they were all destination trips. My advice to anyone that cares to listen now will be to start looking for something else to do. Driving with the current price of fuel and cost of car maintenance with the current fares is not it at all.
Also, I just spent 150k on AC

I don't want to believe some drivers are living from hand to mouth, hence their accepting just any trips as two people have opined so far. Driving hustle is one that the cost of inputs (particularly fuel) will hit you within a short while, so if you are not operating profitably, the reality will hit you within 48hours max when you need to refill your tank, as you will wonder where all your money went.

While factors like road familiarity, proximity to residence or other desired locations can make some drivers accept certain trips with seeming ridiculous amount, I do believe that most of such drivers have gained some efficiency as regards "source of power" for their cars

I personally see this whole fuel chaos and crisis as a blessing in disguise, because it will ultimately lead to people seeking independence from fuel as fuel is not only so expensive, it is also extremely difficult to buy. We are already seeing a significant a massive adoption of solar energy in households, offices and industries.

While we wait for solar or electric-powered vehicles to become mainstream in Nigeria, a quick way to reduce your reliance on fuel and gain some efficiency as a driver is through the adoption of CNG in the mid-term.

I know this is a touchy subject as some of us have valid reasons against CNG, but I cannot see any other alternative that brings cost-savings even in the short term for drivers that are always on the road, and I think e-hailing drivers and companies should be on the forefront of this CNG adoption because there is a limit to how high prices can be increased to.

On one of my visits to NIPCO CNG Station at MFM to make enquiries early this year, I met 2 e-hailing drivers and I was shocked at the savings they reported when they compared operational cost of fuel and CNG even as at then. I can only imagine what those cost-savings will be now that fuel price is on steroid. Infact, one of them stays at Ajah, but he has structured his schedule to get a trip that will bring him to MFM axis so that he can refuel before going home for the day.

Let us work towards de-coupling ourselves from fuel as much as possible. It is a curse and a tool with which a few elite have held us hostage for decades. I hope we see several NGOs and Non-profits springing up to drive this, because it is a just cause.

Not about you boss. I’m just saying if the hustle doesn’t make a sense, we should know be the quality of trips we pick. Price can’t remain the same and drivers keep jostling for trip, only to complain later. It won’t k*ll if everyone aim for the last price, since riders won’t stop fine turning price.
Funny enough, majority of those riders know what's up.
Since the change in fuel price, I don't pick rides, I bid higher and they mostly accept.
Today alone, the extra tips I got from them covered my meal for the day, 3k.
These people been tipping extra like say dem plan am this week.
But I dey compare Bolt and indrive for same ride - indrive dey high pass bolt in SOME areas and vice versa.
Well, fuel don increase, rides must increase, too. No time. cool

Much respect, boss.

Baba, I be hooman being nahhh.
If I see something, I go talk am, abi?
I find it difficult to pick rides with the price now, I dey bid higher and I no be that type who bids.
I used to pick rides that would serve me good profit.
But now, I never picked rides without bidding higher, na my point gangan be that.
If prices have been shot up, someone like me no go bid higher.
I'm not seeing the changes at all.
Well, make e no tey before they effect the change in price sha. Some prices are really-really annoying and I know those who dey pick dem (Suzuki miscreants). grin

Talking about CNG I thought people at a point started using it for their generator set?
What happened to the noise and hype that a lot of people were seriously and massively importing the noozles, it was flooded everywhere like every corner of the country.
Why did the campaign stopped especially now that fuel price is skyrocketing?
Abi na me no dey observant?
Are people still using them?
If it worked and paid those who converted their generator set I believe a lot of people won't need all these preaching to know they should switch.
