No you won't need to submit an admission letter to apply for a date, you'll only need it on the day of the appointment proper.

Also have anyone gotten approval mail recently

1stly you can notarize your document at the German embassy or registered notary (any federal high court will do that). The notarized copy is equivalent to original needed by LMU. As far as I know, the embassy doesn’t require your means of accommodation for visa.
I also live in Munich and I would advise you to check or register in the student WG. Munich is expensive and I have been searching for another Accomodation for more than 1 yr now without +ve outcome. Try the student WG. I wish you all the best

Has any CAT B individual gotten AD? If so when did you apply? I noticed a lot of people have been asking about blocked accounts.

Did you signup for health insurance coverage in your blocked account? If YES, that would serve But if you used sponsorship letter, you will need to contact health insurance providers within Deutschland. I will suggest Mawista because it is cheaper. When you arrive Deutschland, you can switch to AOK or TK.

I gave that recommendation based on the question asked. The Consulate requested for a travel health insurance with upto 6months validity, I assumed it is better to use Mawista, since it is one of the cheapest.

Insurance depends on majorly age. If you use a private insurance and intend to switch to public insurance, it means you need to wait on your employer to do that for you. You cant do that personally on international student visa. So alot of things matters in the choice of health insurance. I only have basic information about it. The requested should pls confirm very well before making choices. Private insurance like mawista is very cheap

I don't believe that's the case people are waiting to get visa approved. There is no way nobody has gotten AD by now.

I am supposed to go to Germany for a six-month research program starting November 1 and ending April 30. I will receive funding of €3,000 and am required to supplement the remainder through a blocked account. As such, I am supposed to open a blocked account for three months. Unfortunately, I have only been able to secure funds for two months at this time. Could I apply for a five-month visa starting December 1 and ending April 30 or Starting November 1 and ending March 31?
