I just want to find out the following :Is there any other way one can make money in the Nigerian stock market apart from dividend payout
Is there daily trading like the US stocks where one can make money daily by trading daily .Please ,help me if you know .Thanks

Commissions are high which makes daily trading unprofitable

I am just wondering why people queue for stocks. If your analysis is convincing at the current price why wait to strike?

Major elements that encourage day trading in US stocks, which are not available in Nigerian stock market include:
-US stocks enjoy high liquidity
-High volatility in US stocks
-Another important part is short selling availability
-Low brokage commissions and fees

Let me add @BrokerHaruna who was shouting here that "Guinness will suprise a Lot of People" By then, the books of Guinness was in a mess and some people here were shutting him down, telling him that Guinness is a bad stock with bad fundamentals, but he sticks to his decision on Guinness. Guinness was N21 then and still fell to N16 under 2 months. But alas, Guinness came with good fundamentals within a space of 6 months and moved from N15 to around N85. The rest is history.... The man has moved from this place to other forums where he is appreciated. Not to talk of @RabbiDoracle, meships, et al

That is his believe. Market dynamics have changed by far as such he just wants to create panic in the market. If Buffet is sure of his conviction of a crash coming (which I strongly doubt) let him short the index.

My take.

I half wish it doesn't rally. The love for dividends is an achilles heel for Nigerian investors. Retaining earnings when the regulator is requiring more capital is just good business sense. The dividends will come.

If these earnings werent audited I would have question them but the result is audited and investors are looking at dividends despite what the results show.

Anyway Make we dey look

I would like to add some perspective on this very good point you raised with respect to dividends and asset valuation

You see, whether you like it or now, part of the reason WHY that is the case is because we live in a LOW TRUST SOCIETY.

So investors will rather take the dividends that they can see and touch with their two eyes, than take a chance at retained earnings for 10 years straight for reinvestment that could then lead to massive capital appreciation in the next decade.

Long story short
whether we like it or not, most of us don't trust the management or regulatory oversight in totality

when management is telling you that we wanna retain all earnings for capital reinvestment, a Conventional Nigerian will be suspicious

2006-2008 period is still fresh in our mind
the results were "good"
but wetin happen las las?
till date most companies have not attained those highs of that period

and this is almost 16 years going

My thoughts sha
thank you

Private University school fees were paid IN FULL

No part payment
No deferred payment

Some even paid with interest

After going through that
even though things are now better

At present they have notified SEC of their intent to do RI and instead of making a mistake like Accessco i.e a price that is at premium to Secondary market (although it was successful and fully subscribed) they have tested the waters with a blank RI price to SEC. More info soon

Do you know if gtb own was equally successful

It will be best if uba come for RI after full year results. The street is not smiling with this new price on fuel oh
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Sunrisepebble: 7:30pm On Sep 12
GT was successful. You have to remember it’s largely institutional investors buying up, retail is a very tiny fraction and the foreign investors love GT. But I applaud them as their advertising touched everywhere.

Thank you for remembering these people, my brother. Those guys you mentioned as well as the Ogas that Madam CMCY mentioned held it down here during the Covid-19 months when all looked bleak. They steadily encouraged many.

Broker Haruna made people cash out heavily with Guinness until they used their attacks to chase him away. That's why I keep saying that the shepherds must be protected on this platform.

May the Lord continue to oil and favour our hustles o! 🙏🏽
