Salewa97: Why is Dangote Cement new trucks now using CNG instead of Diesel? NIPCO built a CNG station at IBAFO in Ogun State opposite Mountain Of Fire Prayer City since 2014. Since July this year till Tuesday this week about 100 DANGOTE CNG TRUCKS have been filled. People are asking me why Dangote Cement is converting to CNG when they have Refinery. I told them I am going to write the reason on nairaland when time comes. Apart from Dangote, a lot of companies with fleet of trucks are converting to CNG and the fleet of CNG trucks are loading from this CNG station opposite Prayer City beside Rain Oil at IBAFO. What Tinubu government has done it is only right thinking Nigerians that can appreciate it. The change is very painful but also gainful at the end. In 2014 up till 2015 when that CNG station was built, I had thought it was a wasted huge investment. Up till 2022, people still don't understand the importance of the Gas Station. Now, everybody knows the reason why the Gas Station was built when they saw Dangote Trucks on queue for CNG . |

DevilsEqual: If dangote tells the public how much he's selling his fuel it will be game over for NNPCL... They don't want him to spill the beans. Dangote is not a baby in business. He know what he's seeing and what he's doing. NNPCL wanted to be sole off takers but after public backlash they changed mouth. Now they want permanent office in DR for what? |

F117nighthawk:One very cold bottle of beer for you! This is the A to Z of all this argument. The NNPC should bow its head in shame. You have 4 refineries and cannot make even one work for over 3 decades. Make your refineries work and call Dangote's bluff. Stop to dey shook eye for Dangote refinery when you shamelessly cannot build or operate any of you refineries. 1 Like 1 Share |

But what exactly is stopping Dangote from opening petrol stations across the country or have subsidiaries just like NNPC does, and sell his petrol directly to Nigerians? |

I have known this from day one. Nigeria is not a country, it will never move forward. Enemies left right and centre, split the country, even the crying babies from the dot in the circle will think twice of their uncertain future under their incompetent loud empty leaders just like what happened pre independence during the constituitional drafting of the forced Nigeria entity, they are the one crying hpocrytically. |

israelmao:This is just my damn question. A whole bleeping country can not boast of a one or two local working refinery but a private biz man is able to erect a functional private one and the stuupid youths are busy fighting each other over the drama instead of holding their leaders accountable for not making our local refinery working. The stuupid youths are not really ready for the development of the country. Very tribalistic and unreasonable entities |

Kobojunkieee:If he doesn't sell 60 percent below landing cost he used nigeria and dumped nigeria...after they sold dollar to him at 400naira that'd the least he can do for the country....within a year I bought dollar 500 to 1660 but he built a large part of his refinery with dollar given to him at a discount a favour many business men didn't get...he got a land for 100million dollars when dollars was at 250 to 350naira or so he also got a free trade zone with it nigeria has tried for him he should make it worth it..the only thing we need to do is supply him enough crude and other local refineries. |

DevilsEqual: Sincerely .. Dangote is too big to do hanky panky ! He has no option ... He has to let FG and NNPC cabals play their tune... So he will know how to dance... Cabals that made sure four refineries in Naija did not work.. after spending billion of dollars.... Them fit make sure Dangote Refinery get the same problem..... Dangote is not part of Tinubu boyz and his refinery is a bad omen for the NNPC cabals Its not easy ..I wish well... |

professorPABX: Now tell me if the current price of the CNG will remain the same in the next 5years when majority of Nigerians have converted to CNG. Are you saying the forces of demand and supply won't jack up the price especially in the face of depreciating naira. Remember Nigerians were cajoled into using LNG for cooking instead of kerosene and charcoal, today the price has gone from 2k for 12kg to 16k within the space of 10years. Why are Nigerians this gullible? 1 Like |

Kobojunkieee: then why are marketers negotiating that? a sell should be allowed to sell at market price the marketers are not the market, we are. |

Blitzking:He is already using wayo to tell you all that he ain't gonna sell his fuel cheap. That claim that marketers don't want to buy his fuel for cheap so he will export is him saying he will not sell cheap. So, wetin Nigerians go do? Force him to sell cheap or subsidize Dangote fuel for Nigerians? |

Faiththatworks: Oga, would you rather sell at N895 per litre in Nigeria, or sell at N1700 to Cameroon and Benin? Dangote is not a charity organization. He has to pay back $20 billion spent on that project. |

Don't be fooled by this stupid analysis with a narrative that importation is the only competition available to checkmate Dangote's monopolylistic tendency. If truly the FG want to eliminate monopoly and creat competition in the system, the right thing to do is to either encourage other local companies to produce similar product, or make the national refineries viable. Any policy that encourages important of producible commodities in our local economy will only worsen inflation. We are already grappling with scarcity of foreign exchange, and one fool is talking about letting marketers waste the scarce dollar in our system on importation of fuel, diesel, aviation fuel, kerosine which are already produced and ready for sale in our own indigenous company. This government needs to cut down on importation of not just petroleum products, but other commodities that are deemed producible in our local economy, this will go a long way in strengthening Naira. Secondly, I believe Dangote will most likely sell below 900/L based on a lot of indices, and Nigerians are even psychologically ready to buy around this rate, haven suffered enough hardship while trying to procure this product at a slightly higher rate. Automatically this will eliminate the need for subsidy payment, unless the federal government decides to be nicer. I believe it should be a win win position for both the FG, Dangote and the masses at large. This only losers here would definitely be the marketers and the useless NNPC, who doesn't want to take their eyes off the loot from subsidy and inflation if price of fuel. I am beginning to think Tinubu is also complicit in that crime of exploiting Nigerians through importation and subsidy payment . A sensitive government should have seen the need to ban importation of fuel and other products . |

Blitzking:Is the government selling crude to Dangote at 50% below international price? Dangote that NNPC refused to sell crude to and had to resort to importing from Brazil at international price is the one you want to sell petrol to you at 50% landing cost? 1 Like |

Kobojunkieee: I don't need videos it's simple common sense. Dangote will expose them for the scam they have been perpetrating all along. Cos if they buy from dangote the drop in demand will be clear that will indicate that they have been getting subsidy without landing any fuel |

lithiumnigeria: Flesh and blood did not reveal thus secret to you but the holy spirit. Refinery business around the world is not a profitable business, unless of course you secure a source of cheap crude, either by stealing or other underhand tactics. Why dangote decided to pump in billion of dollars into the refinery business instead of other more profitable and less volatile business is a mystery to me. 1 Like 1 Share |

Marketers are running away because of Naira low value. If we go by former exchange rate, fuel price should be around N300 to N450 per litre now without subsidy. |
