Fellow colleagues on this journey, please I would to know if anyone has been able to get a date in Lagos recently on the new booking website. I don't want a story that touches. After choosing Lagos, getting a date before December becomes difficult
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Cutiemercie(f): 7:12pm On Sep 14
Thanks for the advice.

I knew I was denied a B1/B2 visa because I just finished my Law degree and I had no strong home tie, even though I was preparing for law school resumption, and no travel experience, I didn’t sound convincing.

I just wanted to know if having a record that you have a relative in the USA would affect subsequent applications. I have seen many instances where answering "yes" to the question "Do you have someone in the USA?" resulted in the visa being denied by the consular.

I asked for advice to know what people think from the options I have seen online and if it’s advisable to follow the same since this is the first time I’m applying for an F1 visa. There is no intention of cutting corners. Thanks.

OyoTunjiUSA:

Hey 🤠

1. Your B1/B2 was denied back in the year 2019 because you did not qualify, and you failed to prove the attached requirements to the consular officer. It did not happen because you have a relative in the USA. The thinking that, mentioning your family member/relatives living in America will jeopardize your VISA success " IS A FALLACY. Except if, those family or relative (s) mentioned are criminals in America. Even if you have been filed (PR, K1, etc) for, that does not mean that you cannot get a USA VISA prior to the conclusion of your pending application.

2. Go ahead with your F1-VISA application. Failure in B1-B2 does not mean failure in F1- VISA. US government or American leaders are just great thinkers or reasoners. If you are qualify in your present VISA application, you will be granted, regardless of past failure (s) or how many times or different kinds of VISAS you have applied for.

Should I say :

PS: This was the reason i ignored your post initially (until you reposted). Nairaland does not allow teaching of lies , or cutting corners on VISA applications. So how do you expect someone to be violating official (USA embassy and Nairaland policy) rules publicly? A lawyer 😔

Best Wishes 🙏

I do not think it’s a FALLACY, In my opinion, it might be part of the reason(s). The question should be “How did that person get into the States, and how long have they stayed”.

When you get into the US on maybe B1/B2, F1 and refuse to come back to your home country, then it simply means you have decided to Immigrate, whereas a NON - Immigrant Visa was issued when the Applicant was applying.

So, in some cases - it affects the applicant who wants to Follow the predecessor; Best Way - Including your Ties in USA does NOT and Will NOT guarantee Visa Approval, Rather it may Alter your Future Application, especially when you’re switching Categories..

🤠

Why did you call me out with others when you knew you are the boss ?

How did you know that you were denied B1/B2 because you just finished law degree ? Was it written in the 214b denial slip given to you ?

So, except the general public gives you voted opinions, all your reasons for denial is a fallacy.

Where did you see instances, where answering yes to the question " Do you have someone in the USA " resulted in VISA denial ? Did you see the annotation (reason for denial) of the consular officer in his or her computer ? Or was it written inside the 214b denial slip given to the applicant? Everything you are typing here is hearsay, and your personal reasonings.

Your 1st questions below has the intention of cutting corners (telling lies inside DS-160 and doing what it takes to defend it).

]Should I say:

A) I have no family members in the US and that all my immediate family members are in Nigeria?

Or

B) I have no family members in the US, but add that the person I had in the US some years back has since passed away in 2020 due to COVID-19 ?

I’m a Lawyer btw and I’m applying for Master of Laws. I didn’t apply to schools in the state he lived in some years back. I purposely applied to schools that are far from his city. Also, we don’t bear same surname.

So , why did you come out to ask this question? Why not follow your real situation in applying for your F1- VISA ?. If i ask you to pick option A or B, then, you would have cut corner and on the way to committing VISA fraud , in which i would be an accessory.

I first thought it was an actual interview, in my mind, I was like "wow, this VO really likes you o, allowing you to explain yourself like this without interrupting you like ABC debate anchors grin"

In my opinion, I think it is weak on home ties. Question Like "Why nursing?" is an avenue to prove your home ties.

Honestly, I just have an issue when people say their education will help them better Nigeria. Wetin concern you and Nigeria cheesy, can't you use the education to better your own life?

The other issue is your aunt sponsoring you. I know she earns 150k but I have heard that money is not a lot of money in the US. It also becomes tricky if she has children of her own.

Why Lonestar? I spoke with Singh from India, he said he got a good education. I emailed Professor Balablu...he said he would be willing to mentor me. I asked a couple of their ex-stidents on LinkedIn. In my opinion, except you are going to Stanford or Harvard...saying your school is top 30 hold no water.

On a lighter note, saying that you want to go into a predominantly female profession might trigger a feminist VO...hmmm, so you mean you want to go steal female jobs cheesy

It's the first draft, perhaps cut the words down by 50%

How do i add home ties when asked why nursing
My aunt has two store where she sells jewelries can i add that
The issue is i only applied to lonestar can i say i apllied to three and back it up

Everything just tire me, dont even know where to start making correction. Pls help me

I could guess why I was denied from the questions she asked and the answers I gave. She denied me after she flipped through my passport.

Everybody came here for advice, and I’m very much open to suggestions, if not I wouldn’t have asked. You could have suggested other options for me, which I’m open to.

Btw, Option A is not a lie. The person in question is not my Uncle, he is a family friend. The person who filled my Ds-160 form wrote “Uncle”, that is why I’m stuck with that.

The truth is I do not have any family member in the US, my immediate family members are my siblings and parents, and they are all in Nigeria.

I’m having the same issue I made payment at first bank two weeks ago 29th of august for visa fee and when ever I impute my ammentun reference number it says bank details updated successfully but it doesn’t take me to the next step to book an appointment. I’v been stuck here for over two weeks . I sent a mail to support but no response after I created a ticket . I even tried calling but they hardly pick up calls. I’ve been to first bank 5 times on this whole issue . They said the issue is from us embassy not them .

Looks like they finally resolved my issue and the payment is accepted. Now, I have been able to book a date

1. You don't guess why you are denied , you reason logically why you were denied, because all genuine contributors here does not guess answers , they reason based on what they have learnt (from reliable sources and personal experiences, as well as from the materials (documents , ds-160s, transcripts etc) of your application.

LET ME TEACH YOU THIS "

2. Every consular officer will not deny or approve your VISA because of the last question (s) asked, every last question especially for denial is a deceptive question, because the consular officer has decided your faith in-between 1 - 2 minutes of your discussion. So the last question is used to distract you based on the fallacy you are spreading in the street 😀

Eg Last Question, How many schools did you apply to ?
Your Aswer: Only one school ma'am. DECISION: Oh sorry you are not qualify for this VISA.

* Were you denied because of application to only one school in the above scenario ? The answer is NO . There is no where in the VISA rules that says you must apply to more than 1 school.
Same way, no USA visa rule says " you must not mention or have a family in America, otherwise, fingerprints and blood samples is enough to deny all families back home.

Things I did which I don't know if helped was creating a ticket with my complain and attaching my payment receipt and also sending them an email with my complaints and receipts.

@OyoTunjiUSA please kindly advice Sir

I have a deficit of 7,000 and I plan to cover this with my personal fund, the salary stated in my Ds is around the range of 800,000 naira monthly, my years of experience is 5 years…

Do you think this amount and its calculation with my years of experience speaks well to show strength to cover the deficit.

Or should I change the sponsor to my parent(would have done this but thinking the VO might feel why have I not been able to raise that amount of deficit since I claim I have been working for 5 years)

Hey 🤠

1. If i tell you what i think, it would be a fallacy or generalisation without studying your application. Just like my misunderstanding with @Cutiemercie. I have to see and study your application materials in order to deduce a reasonable solution.. Are you working in DHL or Oyotunji Blocks Industry to have warranted N800,000 monthly salary ? These are consular officers reasonings.

2. If you have worked with Oyotunji Blocks Industry for 5 years , you may not have garnered your claimed monthly salary (800,000) in juxtaposition with when you have worked with DHL for 5 years.

PS: To answer some questions without generalisation, one needs to study your application materials.

Please I need your advice and help

I intend going for a master's or PhD degree in USA.
I am so scared that I do not have enough qualifications to get a full funding.

I graduated last year.
CGPA :4.03/5.0
I also graduated as the best student in my course concentration (the course is divided into 2 fields, I was the best in one field)
I have one publication and I am working on another. I also finshed another research but I am yet to prepare the manuscript.

I have been sending cold emails to professors but I am yet to secure an advisor. I decided to go for schools that do not require seeking an advisor before applying. These schools also do not need IELET, GRE or WES EVALUATION.

All schools I am going for said the requirement is 3.0/4.0. I am scared that I don't reach this requirement with 4.03/5.0.

What are my chances of getting admission for either a master's or a phd program. I am so scared that I may not be offered admission.

If I lie that I did some volunteer works to boost my CV, will there be some consequences? Volunteer works are everywhere, will they be searching for each and every one of them.

If I say I took some additional courses after graduating which I did not take, will there be consequences?

I am so scared. No one to guild me on what to do.

Note: I have 3 strong recommendation letters from my lecturers.

What are your advice?? I am a baby here please guild me to success. Please.
