The accounts for one financial year must be audited and filed with statutory and regulatory bodies e.g. CAC, FIRS, NUPRC etc before interim or quarterly results of subsequent years can be released.
The FY2023 audited accounts for Oando is due for release by ending September

Even banks that requires rigorous scrutiny by CBN, SEC have all released their 2023 audited financial report, some have even released their H1 2024 audited financial report.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 5:53pm On Sep 14
Late release of audited financial report to the investing public is a red flag.

Paying dividends 9 months after the financial year is also a red flag as per the liquidity and cash position of the business.

I hope I won't be insulted as well?

Are you just following the trend of Oando's audited accounts? People would even commend them if they are able to release the 2023 accounts in September 2024

By tomorrow, Sunday15.09.2024, NNPCL will start lifting pms from Dangote Refinery and sell to to marketers at N765. For now, Dangote Refinery will supply 25m liters daily while NNPCL will import the remaining 15 million liters.

By end of October, Dangote supply will rise to 35m liters while NNPCL importation reduces to 5m liters until importation is faced out completely and pms supply is 100% locally produced from Dangote and other local refineries.

All the back and forth stories I have been reading, this is the only one I understand regarding Dangote and Nnpc and pms
Thank you.

If they like let them say life does not revolve around me again. I’ve given the full gist to the best of my ability. I have more info to come this week. This one is for a penny stock (<#5), still trying to get the full gist and doing my DD. But before I’m called a MH, I admittedly do not have a single horse in the race unlike FMN and Aradel where I have many horses.

Unfortunately I cannot reveal that and neither can I advise positively on the stock at this moment. A hint though is that they had a few positive news articles in the past week. At present i am just aware of a few potential buyers who are looking to buy significant volumes, why so? I honestly do not know at this time, but when you see that kind of volume going through, usually something is cooking.

Oando has been having issues releasing their accounts on time for several years now, so I thought you are already aware. In fact 2022 accounts was released 2024. It is not good, but that is what the market/industry has been coping with in recent times.
The red flag has always been there and obvious.

You have already provided an answer to the reason why banks prepare their accounts on time .....rigorous scrutiny, timelines and heavy penalty for default imposed by CBN, SEC, etc.
I am not sure if such timelines and heavy penalty is imposed by NUPRC but I agree it is not good for their corporate image and for investors

How exactly?

I still sent dollars home last week and the rate never change
The news on Nairametrics says dollar is now N1,543 which is an improvement . Hopefully, it would improve and get to around N1,000./$

By the way, when is Alhaji listing the refinery on NGX?

I don't know when NUPRC came in as a financial regulator of listed oil companies akin to CBN with banks. Maybe it is provided for in the PIA. I noted that Oando claims to be submitting their results to the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) for vetting before release.

As NUPRC came out of the controversial NNPC I am personally not comfortable with them being a financial regulator of listed oil companies. And does it mean that NCC, for example, will vet MTN and Airtel results, and NAFDAC for pharmaceutical companies, etc. I think we will just add another layer of corruption with no value added to investors. If we must let us have just one agency, like the FRC, do it. At least it is in their name and they may have the expertise.
