Good morning house. Please what is the current exchange rate for IRCC- Nairaland to Cad.

Please if someone is in Canada and want to sponsor her sister, will 70k$ to 100K$ be okay?

Her yearly tuition is 10k + upkeep.

Thanks everyone
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 8:10am On Sep 20
Nobody can accurately tell you the exchange rate. The exchange rate for today isn't the going to be the same tomorrow. If someone who is in Canada wants to sponsor their relative, they should give their relative the POF in CAD or USD instead of in Naira.

Please what's the process for acquiring POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE for someone staying in Calabar
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 11:03am On Sep 20
Don't waste your money. It's not necessary for your study visa application to Canada. You can apply without using it.

So sorry about your refusal. Your ordered gcms note will give you better clarity.

Know that it is not just having N40m in your account that is the koko, you must be able to justify how you earned the money and how you are continue to earn to sponsor your program.

Without that justification, even if you put 100m in your account, it will be refused for insufficient or unavailable fund.

Rachy3063:
Good afternoon everyone .
I received a refusal letter yersterday .
I really feel so bad .
Same with a friend of mine.
I was told my fund was insufficient
I have 48million in my account as a proof of fund and a landed property document worth more than 30 million naira .
Attached is the message received from IRCC.

MarksmanD:
Google how to order for GCMS notes for free and follow the link. Or you can check previous Nairaland pages, some already posted the process of getting it.
It takes 3-4 weeks to get the notes. Apply only after you have gotten the notes.

Thanks I ordered for the notes yesterday waiting to get them

You're very right on this... All this people too like justification.... Anything you mention, just ensure their is evidence.

and again, the way all this whites thinks are very different from blacks... They want you to explain things like baby , 🤣

If not OYO.

Note: don't be distracted by all this caps... Canada is big enough to accommodate everyone of us and just like in every nation... Skills people always find their way.

Sufficient funds depend on the type of sponsorship and ability to demonstrate reliable sources of income. For example, you must show funds for the tuition fees and living expenses for the duration of your program if you have no sponsor, OR show funds for one year and a reliable source that can generate funds in your absence for the subsequent year. On the other hand, if you are using a sponsor, you can show just the cost of education for one year, regardless of the duration of your studies. It is noteworthy that showing just the minimum is not recommended as it is unconvincing for the sponsor to spend all the funds on your education. In your case, it seems the VO believed that the funds are unavailable for your studies, hence the refusal under IRPR 220(a) and (b), which are insufficient funds for tuition and living expenses, respectively. A VO can refuse an application for insufficient funds, even if the balance is enough to cover the cost of education if;
1. there are lump sums with no reasonable explanation.
2. Inability to demonstrate the relationship between the sponsor and you, and if the sponsor is a thirty party, the incentive for the sponsorship.
3. The account was opened recently
4. It is a corporate account with poor cash flow and/or failure to show the sponsor is the business's sole owner and has access to the account.
5. Unconvincing source of income

This list is not exhaustive. Most importantly, order gcms note.

Agreed, they plan to reduce Student visa from about 475k in 2024 to about 425k or so in 2025...still enough to go round but you must come prepared to justify the investment.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 7:36am On Sep 21
Since you can't open a CAD Dom account in Nigeria, open a USD, EUR or GBP dom account and tell your relative to convert the required POF of 20,600 CAD and add extra 5k CAD (transport and miscellaneous fee) to USD, EUR, or GBP and send it to your Dom account. Since your relative would be sending this lump sum, let them send you a receipt of the transaction, their account statements for 6 months, employment history, a letter of sponsorship notorized by the Canadian court.

It's still best to order your GCMS note... I believe you must have filled your employment gap for 10years as it was a compulsory requisite.... Unless if you had used agent, he must have filled no employment.

Again, it's best you give a proper breakdown of what you submitted, for the gurus in the house to properly guide you.

#mySubmission.

Yes thanks, I used an agent, it a study visa,
My employment experience reads from 2018, I graduated 2017, my salary acc was 6m
POF was my dad’s acc (They didn’t indicate that as a problem)
My agent is suggesting they need better home ties that is, letter from my company indicating some new ranks if I finish my studies and some leadership references from business leads I have worked with.

Truth is your agent didn't do a good job with your SOP...just take a look at the second refusal reason. If you have done it yourself the refusal reason, could've been at least generic.... There are lots of resources and gurus here on nairaland to guard you at no cost.

You made mention of sponsor.. did you proof evidence of tie between you and sponsor other that stating it... Such as proof of past financial support, bank statement of sponsor, photograph, where he works... And if he is your dad, let him do a gift deed.

And make sure you at least pay your tuition fees...most VOs are using this as refusal reason.

Good luck in your next reapplication.

Did you see the SOP written for the application?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by YulPapparrazi: 12:19pm On Sep 21
I wrote the sop myself, I actually picked a course related to my field so it was quite easy, now I will need more insight on it because I don’t really understand what the VO wants to see, that’s why I’d be getting more leadership references, for the POF we used his photograph, business details/properties I don’t think that was the problem since it wasn’t mentioned, tuition has been paid.

I’d be grateful for any details

Good evening everyone, I'm seeking clarification on my PAL .
I recently had my study permit application rejected, so I've decided to defer my admission until January to reapply. My current PAL is valid from September or until the end of my studies.
My question is: Will I receive a new PAL with my updated admission letter for January, or will my existing PAL remain valid?
