This kind of patient is very exhasting. I am due to travel for an event for October, it was for this sole reason I made another MRV, imagine paying over 600K in one year and I really need this money. TBF I am upset. The event is for 1st week of October 2024. I don't even know what to do. I have called the help desk several times complaining bitterly, from thier end they can see my payment has been updated, meanwhile from myn end I cant see anything. I am just livid and disappointed.

Hey 🀠

* @lantrezo, and @Kavanaexchange.

1. You guys should be clapping for the IT staffs @AVITS b/cos they are attending to millions of VISA applicants daily , with possible under staff.

2. The best things to do in all of your situations are to raise a ticket, call the helpline , restart your browser, login and log out , change your browser etc, and go home ,and be watching television instead of developing hypertension, while checking once in a day for positive outcome.

3. AVITS staffs are treating your tickets randomly, so it's a kind of game of luck. Their system is also undergoing trial and error era, which is expected to continue all through 2024.

PS: Patient is all you need.

Best Wishes πŸ™

This is the same issue I am experiencing. This is my second MRV , I have asked them for a refund if they will not allow me to book an appointment. You cant hold my money to ransom on the bases they wont refund.

🀠

1. Unfortunately, you will not be refunded if the MRV payments has been remited into the US embassy account, which i am 90% certain has.

2. At the end, you will have to make use of one MRV payment. The embassy constantly warns every one to not make a 2nd payment if the first one was having issues.
They asked you to raise a ticket and wait.

* F2 is created for F1-VISA holders , ie wife, children , house help etc, but the only student category who have being more favourable with F2 VISA applications is PhD, followed scantily by Msc.

1. If you are on PhD (especially) or Msc with full fundings , yes F2 will be favourable in this scenario. But if you have less than 100% of funds, your F2 VISA application will be based on your family ability to proof availability of funds for the F1 dependent (s) (F2).

2. Presently, B1/B2 is more favourable, and easier to secure than F2 VISA,
except if, the F2 VISA applicant is a minor, or teenager under adulthood age.

3. F2 visa holder in America is absolutely dependent on F1 visa holder, b/cos f2 visa holder (adult) is not permitted to work, and attend degree or credit award institutions, and 75% of the time, only the change of status of F1 VISA holders in the USA can also change the status of F2 visa holders.

4. B1/B2 VISA holder , who is visiting his or her F1 partner in the USA may decide to change VISA status outside the control of F1 VISA holder, he or she can look for work, process school admission etc, and process the necessary CHANGE OF VISA status request.

PS : B1/B2 wins. But it depends on your present situation.

Thank you for your response

Hello Adenike,

Your dom card for which bank please? I have tried 2 foreign and 2 local USD cards and it keeps failing.

It's so sad because I may have to forfeit the money paid to First Bank since i am not able to proceed beyond verifying the payment.

Hello,

Can anyone please assist in providing response to the enquiry below?

I had paid and booked group appointment for my wife and 3 kids on the old portal for Oct. 2025. However, after the migration to the new portal, I could no longer do group appointment for them and had to resort to individual appointments.

Despite this constraint, I was fortunate to book for my first child (<3 year old) and one of my twin (<1 year) for Nov. 08, while my wife and the other twin booked for a week later - Nov. 15.

Are they expected to attend the interviews differently considering the twins are below a year or we can all attend on the first date and see if the 4 of them will be attended to? The challenge is we reside in a city far from Lagos and would require flight bookings and accommodation for each trip. Attempt to get the contact center was not unsuccessful.

1. Reschedule and print out the new VISA appointment letter , one for each person. They should also take their previous VISA appointment letters on old website along. They will attend to them based on their previous appointment standings b/cos USA embassy still recognises pre-update appointments.

PS: This opinion is just my reasoning. Don't rely on it.

πŸ™
thank youuu , but the only appointment letter we can print out is just for one person

Thanks a lot, I appreciate what you do here.

1. Fill another DS-160 for Mama and she should attend her interview with both old and the new DS-160s.

2. She is your mother, therefore, you have the right to stand as her funder of the trip but , provided that you can prove the financial capability. Yes, staying with you is normal since you are single and not married with kids?

3. Mama does not have a choice than to now start following the DOB on her travel passport , and write same date inside her DS-160. Always follow her travel passport information when writing her bio-data. Affidavit is irrelevant.
It is understandable that few senior citizens does not or cannot really give the accuracy of their DOB.

Visa Fee was paid on the 17th September and till today it has not been acknowledged that the payment was made. I have logged out several times, change browser. I will keep my mind off it as you said because I didn't sleep well throughout last week.

I made visa fee payment on 3rd September 2024 on the new Avits website through loca bank transfer (First Bank) in Sagamu, Ogun State.
I later found out that the bank official erroneously input '1' instead of 'I' in the Ammentum number. However, that was corrected and the payment was acknowledged as the AVIT system prompted 'Bank payment updated successfully'. Surprisingly I couldn't proceed to the appoitment booking page for days, and this prompted me to cancel this pending appointment process and initiated a fresh one.
Unfortunately, I had been unable to proceed in this process as the system kept on prompting 'Duplicate applicant found for this user' message each time I try again and again. This situation is very frustrating, I made effort to generate ticket three times and all not yet attended to.
Please has anyone encountered this issue and how was it fixed?
The support tickets I created are just there on thier system not attended to. No response since then.
In case anyone has any way of resolving this issue pls kindly reach me 08029449770, 08032077657

anybody has experience on how the usa views someone, whose spouse is an asylum seeker in the usa based on the kids who are citizens.
would they just summarily reject the visa application cos of the spouse asylum without looking at the merits of the case and the persons clean sheet of visiting the usa and returning without overstaying?

It might affect your application and it might not. You can never really tell with the US embassy. Just pray and hope for the best.

Sorry I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but what is the likelihood of getting a tourist Visa after a 10 year ban has elapsed?

Context: Overstayed at the age of 15 and left after graduating from secondary school at the age of 18. Tried applying for a visa at the age of 23 and was denied and given a 10 year ban. Ban expired many years ago and I've tried applying twice since then and both times was denied.

I've now been married to a Nigerian American citizen for 6 years and have a 6 year old son who is also a a Nigerian American national.
Does this put me in a better position for a tourist visa? What can I do to increase my chances?
Husband plans on filing for me next year but he will be travelling to the US for his sisters wedding soon and I would like to join him

Does the consulate interview people on Saturday? My grandma was initially scheduled to interview back in May 2024. But the consulate rescheduled the interview to November and it falls on a Saturday. I’m not sure if i should call them to ask if it was a mistake. Any one with such experience should kindly share. Thank you!

None of these dates, The 5th was not there when I checked which means it dropped after I clicked mine and someone has already booked it. Just keep checking you will get an earlier date. From what I am seeing they keep dropping new dates and slots and people quickly book them, in my case it was pure luck that I was online when it dropped.

It will all end in praise.

* NO ! Except you are a top govt official, known billionaires, top celebrities, international criminals etc, and for security, medical or political emergency purposes, USA embassy is usually closed on weekends and holiday periods.

1. Mama will be reschedule naturally b/cos it's definitely a system error, but to clear your mind, you can raise a ticket or call the help-line with the copy of the appointment letter.

@yoyome20 is correct.

1. Once booked , you cannot change location on the new website (AVITS).

2. Lets assume that you were able to change OR you want to buy another MRV to rebook your appointment, it is still highly advisable that, your DS-160 location pick correspond with your desire USA embassy location. In summary. Do not take Lagos oriented DS-160 to Abuja embassy.

πŸ™

Oh wow I did not know this. Can you please help me out here? I submitted my parents DS160 using Lagos as their location but booked their visa appointments on the new site in Abuja. Is this going to be a problem?
I went back and forth between Abuja and Lagos a month ago because I could not get a convenient date on the old platform before the migration. I had to pay new visa fees on this new platform and was able to get separate dates.
Is this going to be a problem for them? Or should I fill out a new Ds160 for Abuja and have them take both DS160 to their interview?

1. If the USA immigration/government sees you as a threat to their society they could have banned you for life. Mind you, the sin you committed was in your teenage years, and perhaps facilitated by your parents or guardian, so that era is gone. You now have a clean record like before, it is only the injury scare that is hunting your mind and the mind of all consulars you will be meeting πŸ˜ƒ

2. Break your mind off the negatives. Stop acting in the presence of the consular like a suspect, you are free but consular is studying your body languages. The point is , you were not qualified for both VISAS you had applied for , and you were denied just like others.

3. Go ahead and apply for your B2 VISA, and indicate in the necessary space your VISA ban , do not lie in any of your VISA application (DS-160) because they have the record but not because for the embassy to use it against you, except, if you commit another crime.

PS: If you qualified for the B2 VISA they will definitely grant you. Just go straight and don't lie.

7:45am appointment

I must a big thank you to
Annabee for always answering my questions during the waiting time for payments confirmation which took more than a week and the new updated DS160 form I filled after I have submitted the initial one.

My mum went with two DS160 forms. Why?

I filled the 1st DS160 for Lagos and from the information I got on this platform concerning no interview dates in Lagos till mid next year that made we switch to Abuja.

So when making payment I picked Abuja for interview.

All I needed to do was to fill another form for Abuja. And she went with it.

Looking forward to my own interview in London come January 2025.

Cheers πŸ™

Congratulations to your mom!
Please do you know what questions she was asked? Were you her sponsor? Was she asked to show a bank statement and was the bank statement in your name or her name?
I’m sorry for all the questions but I just booked dates for my parents and trying to have them prepared and ready.
Thank you

Hey 🀠

1. Fill another Abuja-oriented DS-160 for each of them , be certain that their photo is shown, print copy for each of them and they should attend their interview with " 1 copy of old DS-160 and 1 copy of new DS-160 each.

PS: @OtunOba15 VISA situation is different to yours, therefore, you cannot totally align your parents VISA application towards his.
