Please leave this guy, he has been attacking everyone who cautioned him. The pain of loss of potential profit in Oando caused it which I understand, but he should blame himself. I sold my 5m units of Oando @ N14 which I bought @ N7, was I pained when Oando did magic? YES, did I regret selling or blame anyone? NO.
An experienced investor will placed caution in Oando because of the court case and Wale style. If Wale can do abracadabra to acquire Agip, he can do same if he is bent on delisting. Few days after I sold my caverton at loss @ 1.4 the stock started the rally and I decided not to join the moving train. 2 days after I completed my purchase on ELLAHLAKES the rally began. I have made over 60% ROI. In stocks you gain and loss some. You can never always beat the market. Stick to your strategy and modify it when you get information, but never blame anyone for the decision you take.

ice234:
My point is very simple. You are an adult and not a baby. Why are you hell bent on blaming someone for a decision you took. He didn't force you to sell.

In all your blame game, have you taken out time to look in the mirror and blame yourself for the decision you took?

The problem I see here is you not taking responsibility for your decision.

The steps to healing are
1. Admitting that the decision to sell isn't a good one
2. Blame yourself solemnly for that decision.
3. Understand that this is a public domain, anyone can have a say on anything, when things they know nothing about.
4. Employment the services of a good financial advisor going forward.
5. Never blame anyone for decisions taken in this your journey on earth.
6. Analyze every advice given to your without any sentiments and without choosing a side.
7. Be kind with your words especially in a public domain.

Still showing your lack of comprehension skills. So your retarded brain can't process the part where i said i blame myself for falling for his trick? You trying so hard to exonerate him when it's clear he deliberately wanted to cause panic selling shows you are no different. It's not a case of honestly being wrong but deliberately trying to crash the price by triggering panic selling so he could load up. If your speck of a brain can't process that then that's too bad. On the other hand if you do understand this and still insist on supporting him then you are simply disgusting. I have no further words to exchange with your type. Since that episode I've bought far more shares in both Japaul and Ellah and will still buy when i see opportunities. For stocks with growth potentials, I've learned not to sell all my holdings when there's price retracement, if at all i choose to sell. Street needed to be called out and I've done so. Those who have a brain and conscience will understand

Learning is a continuous exercise, I joined this forum thinking that one can share ideas about stocks and equally get good opinions from here while also still doing my own due diligence. Be that as it may, there are always insiders information. Most of us doing so great can't beat their chest and tell me they never relied on some of this information. No one knows it all. Our investment objectives and goals are different. Everyone has their own reason for investing. The sky is so big for all birds to fly freely. I have been in stock business for a while now, my major analysis are from past records and that have been working for me. I have also noticed that some people here are sincere with information, while some people give information to mislead others. But, my main point is before you buy your shares, you must have done a little research before committing your money. The share price may rise or fall later, but is your reason for committing your money still there, if the reasons are still there, just relax because it will still move up again.

Finally, it will not be right using foul languages. I believe everyone here is an adult. The kind of name calling I see here is embarrassing to me reading it. Let us sheath our sword as everyone is the CEO of their portfolio.
Happy weekend to you all.

The insults on me shows your maturity.
Come!!! hope you are above 18, cause I don't understand this level of immaturity you are displaying here.
You are just so good in blaming people without blaming yourself.
Okay he gave an advice (for good or for bad) won't you process the advice first? Do you take all advice as it is given?
There is a reason NSE but an age restriction to trading. There is a reason there is an 18 years restriction to most activities. The reason is simply they assume you should be matured enough to understand what you are doing.
This your blame game shows you aren't the decision maker but a follow follow.
I'm sure if someone here says sell your ELLAH lakes, you will sell one time and start the blame game again.
In summary, I'm just asking you to grow up, stop insulting before in public space, stop blaming people for your life decisions.
You don't know me, you have never seen me, you don't know where we will meet tomorrow, all you have done on this your post is insult me, call my brain a redarded one, called me a disgusting person, including naming my spec of brain. If we see tomorrow, how do you think I will rate you as a person?

Again, my sincere advise to you is mind your speech and show us that you are an adult.

You mean someone made you panic and sell your Oando despite all that Madam Mercy has been shouting here that her Oando is till Jesus comes grin

Omo please stop the name calling...we don't need all this here. You sold because you felt okay with the profit so far and could no longer take the risk. In market you win some you lose some. In this case you still made some profit.

What if Oando reversed after you sold...would you still attack the person. Stop please!

Otedola’s Strategic Acquisition: Implications for FBN Holdings and its Shareholders

In a notable move that underscores both confidence and strategic foresight, the business mugal and billionaire Mr Femi Otedola, the Chairman of FBN Holdings, has significantly bolstered his position in the venerable institution with the acquisition of an additional 534 million shares at an impressive price of N30 per share. This substantial transaction elevates his direct shareholding to an unprecedented total of 4.23 billion shares, valued at approximately N124.9 billion. With this acquisition, Otedola now holds a commanding 11.79% stake in the bank, cementing his status as the single largest direct unit holder in the longest-standing bank in Nigeria.

Otedola is a prominent figure in Nigeria’s business landscape, known for his acumen in financial management and strategic investments. His actions as chairman are pivotal not just for FBN Holdings but also for the broader banking sector in Nigeria. Otedola’s significant investment not only demonstrates his strong belief in the bank’s potential for growth but also positions him as a key player in the bank’s strategic direction. Otedola's direct involvement at the helm of one of Nigeria's oldest banks is indicative of his commitment to rejuvenating and steering the institution towards a prosperous future.

In light of this, he's strategy investment in the bank potent a well positioned implications for FBN Holdings. Let considered a few of them:

Otedola’s increased shareholding imbues FBN Holdings with a strong element of stability and governance. Shareholders typically look favourably upon substantial insider ownership as it correlates with a vested interest in the bank’s success. As a pivotal player in the organisation, Otedola has strategic insights and robust governance that align with the aspirations of shareholders seeking sustainable growth.

The acquisition is likely to instil greater confidence among investors and stakeholders regarding the future of FBN Holdings. It signals a clear message: the chairman believes in the bank’s growth trajectory, which encourage other investors to consider entering or increasing their stakes in light of this endorsement. This confidence is crucial, especially in a volatile economic environment where investor sentiment greatly impacts market performance.

As the largest direct shareholder, Otedola’s influence on the strategic decisions of FBN Holdings pave the way for more innovative approaches to tackle emerging market challenges. His leadership may lead to initiatives aimed at diversifying the bank's offerings, potentially enhancing its competitive edge in the financial sector. Moreover, with Otedola’s extensive network and experience across various industries, FBN Holdings could explore new avenues of partnership and investment, broadening its market reach.

Again, with Otedola at the helm, shareholders can anticipate a renewed focus on maximising shareholder value. His approach to acquisitions, strategic investments, and capital allocation are likely to prioritise generating returns for both current and prospective shareholders. This focus on shareholder welfare not only reassures existing investors but also attracts new ones, leading to enhanced liquidity and market capitalisation.

Moreso, the Nigerian banking sector is replete with challenges, including regulatory changes, economic fluctuations, and increased competition from fintech. Otedola’s strategic direction may see FBN Holdings prioritise innovative solutions to these challenges, leveraging technology and enhancing customer experience. Ultimately, this approach could result in improved financial performance, benefiting shareholders in the long run.

While in an environment where volatility is commonplace, the strategic decisions made by Otedola—as the largest single shareholder—help stabilise FBN Holdings. By adopting prudent risk management practices and sustainable business models, where the bank is able to navigate economic uncertainties, ensuring resilience and steady growth, which are essential for shareholder confidence.

As Otedola consolidates his control and embarks on a journey to redefine the bank’s place in Nigeria’s financial landscape, shareholders can look forward to a trajectory marked by confidence, innovation, and enhanced value. Under his leadership, FBN Holdings could emerge as not only a leader in banking but as a beacon of economic stability in Nigeria’s evolving market.

OBA OTUDEKO should focus on how to get back HONEYWELL and drive it back to the days of sub #100

Not a financial advice at all as I am known for heavy risks since 2020 and still counting

Pls its ok. Just let it go. I remember pointing out earlier how he made people sell by his "oando don cast" anthem and immediately changed to a new anthem the moment he got some units of the share, claiming he spoke to someone who gave him some info on Oando's future.
The day I pointed this out, he attacked me with all sorts of insult. I just ignored him and he slept off.
I advise you also ignore him and move on.

It didn't pain me cos i had no oando (na seplat team I follow) but all the same, I advise you ignore him. Not everyone you see here are normal. Everyone has his purpose of being here. Just focus in yours. Pls.

It's not honestly just that some persons don't know how to engage constructively which is reason I stick with those matured enough to relate with different opinions and still maintain decorum.

Mike and a few others will always be the matured guys here. Maturity has nothing to do with how old you are but on how you handle differing opinions from yours.

Late last year I engaged a really young Nigerian in his mid forties and I was like so such matured minds are still in the cyberspace? He wanted my firm to have him employed remotely despite how unprofessional I acted at the time he maintained his calm. He got the offer anyways

MATURITY is the only reason I ignore a lot of persons here

@ SonofElElyonRet, you claimed to be a lawyer, I expect you to know better.

Lawyers are trained to doubt everything, even when you show evidence until they double check, verify and confirm that the evidence or fact are valid.

You also need it in your stock market investment.

But you have every right to call out Street, if he has a fee paying stock market investment group which you used your hard earned money to subscribe to not for a free and unsolicited stock advice on NSEMPA

NOBODY CAN SUCCESSFULLY PREDICT THE MARKET
It did not start today. See all the predictions of experts during the covid 19 pandemic. People who believed them missed out. Be bold and hold for as long as the stock is still in uptrends and the volume is there.

In 2006-2008 I got so wealthy in this market that I was a major player in it but lost all (PAPER VALUE) during the CRASH.

But Jesus came through for me in 2020. During the COVID I sorted for cash from several quarters and INVESTED in many stocks/other markets both in Nigeria and foreign markets. I took very big risks against experts' advice because their advise made me lose fortune in 2008 although we call it school fees. MCY is aware of some of my challenges in 2020 because that was when we CONNECTED. Such a beautiful soul 💕

But today I sit as CEO of established FIRMS which is known by many especially in the nation where I reside. I just wish Nigerian Government can show some love for Nigeria towards those of us abroad so we can honestly INVEST in this land. They are frustrating real efforts. Corruption is not helping this nation especially amongst the civil service...

I hope to write MORE about my part to MEGAWEALTH someday... Many won't understand why I changed moniker to THE MEGAWEALTH01

Let this encourage someone today...

The mischievious shout of casting aside, I really did not know why people were selling at that time. Did they suddenly realize that the agip deal was fake or that the deal would not add anything to Oando? Fear can be a terible weapon fashioned against success.

No matter the loudness of the mischievious shout of negativity, one thing is sure, oando will be here, at least, for the next four years.
I haven't sold a single unit too, only stopped adding more recently. People should learn to sieve noise from substance.

Obviously, he his well-informed, managed to secured two great opportunities, but somehow sabotaged them.

Maybe a significant portion of his wealth should be in real estate, while still maintaining an active presence in stocks.

Investing is not just about analyzing numbers; numbers only account for 40% of the success. The remaining 60% depends on character.

While improving on our ability to read the numbers, we should also strongly focus on improving the other. If not; the numbers will eventually be useless.

Thanks for understanding the issues i raised. Many people here just muddle issues up. I've moved on. Only brought it up when mega asked me a question. I've learned to have a strategy of my own. Particularly not to sell all (if at all i sell) when a growth stock retraces and also to overcome fear of losing profit.. other opportunities have and will continue to come. Shalom!
