This job is just too demeaning! Bn waiting for this small boy for over 20 mins. He came out, asked me to open boot, then put his things and said I should give him another 5/10 mins that he's waiting for somebody. I just tried to tell him that I've been waiting for over 20 mins, Omo this boy said I should open boot, that he wants to cancel. I just weak! 3 Likes |

Barbiturate: Some jobs are like that, you just have to define yourself at some point in time. Next time don’t wait for the boy to ask for such, do em that favor by cancelling the moment he came out and start acting rude. Same way someone will call customer care service and start placing curse on them or enter bank and start shouting at the teller folks. You meet different people everyday, obviously everyone is not normal. 7 Likes |

Barbiturate: Every job at some point is like that Looking at the bright side, the only witness to that is you and the guy in question,, if you didn't talk about it after that moment, it doesn't even matter, nobody knows about it to even care. Face front and hustle away bro 6 Likes |

Kaymaxi2222: I didn't open the boot. I just ignored, then I had to wait for another 5 mins before we proceeded. I don't like drama! If I had asked for money for the wasted time and he refuses, na quarrel....more time wasted! If I cancel, I've wasted that time for nothing and indrive will remove their commission, then I'll have to wait for some days to be refunded Like pope said, every hustle get im own wahala! 9 Likes |

some times, when I order a ride on indrive and see the way some drivers "worship me" before and during the trip. I understand the entitlement mentality and big Manism of some riders towards drivers. As a driver you don't have to be rude, but be firm and know how to command respect. 8 Likes |

Barbiturate: That's how two days ago after hustle I got a trip on indrive like 10km drive for 5k and it was towards my house Rider called immediately that I should wait at so so junction Got there and called that I'm there he said he's coming Omo his coming took over like 40mins I was patient Finally he came, put some stuffs in the trunk and said I should wait small for his friends that they're coming on bike After like 10mins they arrived While on the way they made some stops, immediately I clear the guy say na indrive trip and I don't entertain stops but he said make I no worry dem go sort me so i chill and when I arrived at the final destination they said I should take them back to where I picked them. Omo I just tire. The trip lasted like 2hr 30mins When we finally got to their final destination the amount dem transfer shock me. I first enter the place first chill So most times violence isn't always the way 5 Likes |

Pearl1910: Funny but apt analogy. However, in this e-hailing business, you are better off being a Peak milk o...the reason is because there are higher administrative costs when you do many trips like the Cowbell... ...which will end up with you just breaking even or even not able to recoup your costs. These administrative costs include the cost of your fuel and time when you drive to pick up, the airtime/data you use for the calls when driving to pickup and the several unique uncertainties that each single ride brings. Be a Peak milk, my oga... 2 Likes |

Pearl1910: Interesting conversations that I am trying to catch up on. Regarding the emboldened; if Bolt's revenue drops due to them increasing prices, and his take-home drops to less than 30k, then it means he is doing lesser trips, reducing the wear and tear of his vehicle, which is still a win for him as he gets to spend less on vehicle maintenance. From my understanding, the more trips you do, the more revenue these e-hailing guys make, with the drivers feeling the brunt through increased cost of operations. That is why, these e-hailing guys will remain reluctant to increase prices in line with economic realities. Just my thoughts 9 Likes 1 Share |

odimbannamdi: Forget the app companies. For me, it's my daily take home that matters. Your cost of living should drive u. Wear and tear will still catch up with u even if u are doing fewer trips and making 20k daily. So if the 30k is okay for u, then all fine and good. Alot of people work from 7am to 4pm make 20k prpfit and they head home. But for me, I will not close at 30k when I know I can get 50k before the day is over. I am prepared to get the wear and tear and cover the cost with my extra income rather than get the wear and tear eventually 6 months later and can't cover the cost because I was contented with meagre income due to fewer trips. Now most people are just greedy, they want to work less and make more. They are angry the app companies are taking a commission. The bane of development is when u continuously keep ur eyes on another man's money instead of concentrating on your own. Anytime u want to strike a deal or negotiate an offer, concentrate on what comes to u, never think of what the other person is getting. That's why I will always choose Bolt over Indrive, because even with the lesser commission, it can't give me as much earnings. 3 Likes |

Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Pearl1910: 12:25pm On Sep 30 |
Kaymaxi2222: Nothing special to be honest... I have been singing it here for many years. 1. U have to be prepared to work hard, start early and close late. 2. Avoid traffic as much as u can. Traffic is a time waster. Medium trips in the morning and evening within VI, Lekki Phase 1, Ikeja, Yaba etc rather than enter long trip and meet traffic. In the evening rush hour, I would rather do VI to Yaba and back to VI/Lekki. Or VI to Phase 1 and back to VI, than enter 2hrs traffic on Vi to Ogba or VI to Ajah. Although traffic is not much again now, so u can always check ur gmap before u decide whether to take the trip or not. 3. Except it's a very long surge and juicy trip, Don't take trip to where u will not easily get a trip back from. I will rather do 3, N2,000 trips each within VI than do VI to Sangotedo or VI to Satellite town for 10k. Sometimes back to back short short trips pay more than long trip that's is not back to back. 4. Master residential and commercial area dynamics very well to know how to position yourself and were to accept trips to per time. 5. Target long trips when u r against traffic. 6. Avoid corner corner roads like Ejigbo, Alimosho, Agege axis. U will spend time on the trip but cover shorter distance. 7. Balance your time, and your fuel consumption to maximize profits. If u stay too long and u aren't getting a good trip, Instead of driving empty to reposition yourself, u can take a "silly" trip which can cover your fuel cost. E.g u have stayed in GRA for too long and u begin to think of repositioning, u can accept a trip from Isaac John to opebi or allen. Just so your time wasted is not completely invain. Some people will rather drive empty than pick a short trip. That mindset has to change in this era of expensive fuel. 8. Never do big boy for bonus, if u can chop it, then gladly go for it. U know how difficult it is to make 10k so if u see 10k or 5k bonus, don't joke with it. 9. Don't be distracted when u see trip to Christ embassy/Redeem camp, Ota, Ibeju or Agbara for big money. U may end up regretting taking the trip as d energy, fuel and time u will waste to get back to civilization will not b worth the fare trip. Although, sometimes u can be lucky to get a return trip back to town from outskirts. 10. Don't overspeed, don't accelerate sharply, drive carefully and gently, I don't exceed 80km/hr even on third mainland bridge on a Sunday morning. If u drive speed, u waste more fuel and arrive earlier, double loss to you. 11. Stick to the "L" shaped trunk of Lagos metropolis. From Berger to Chevron. U can cherry pick other destinations occasionally especially public holidays or weekends. 12. All these points can be very subjective to particular timing and circumstances, it can also be a function of luck and God's grace. Typically, most people learn from personal experience so someone will still read this and take a trip to Igboelerin, then come to d thread and lament "I have been here since 2hrs, I no see trip, is there something wrong with my app, what can I do to get out of here?" 14 Likes
