Chrisantus Uche is just bossing duels against Alaves, holding up plays well and easily dispossesing opponents. I understand why the Getafe coach uses him upfront as his big targetman profile but abeg, that beastly profile will shine even more through the middle. This Uche lad is a Big Beast. Strong in duels, solid in holdup and good on the ball. This boy can truly be our "Rodri". |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 2:47pm |
Raphael Onyedika is a solid ballplaying metronome in the middle, fit for the holding MF role but Chrisantus Uche is an overpowered physically dominant midfield dynamo who seems to have the skillset to evolve from a deep-seated physically strong ball playing CDM into a Bellingham-kind MF player who storms the box. In other words, Uche is a midfield profile who can fit in fine alongside an Onyedika MF profile. TheSuperNerd: 1 Like 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: I don't understand. I have not seen him play but I read a comment o. Twitter where it seems he is playing as a false 9. Like a firmino role. So he is still somewhat okay in in midfield. Correct me if I am wrong |

Who is applying Tiki Taka, that it is not working? We are yet to truly use Tiki taka and you want to use Kati Kati. Na 100th we go finish for Fifa rankings be that. comodo: 1 Like 2 Shares |

Uche and Firmino are physically not even close to being the same profiles so he obviously cannot be operating as a false 9 today. He is rather operating a bit similar to how a younger Lukaku operates. Using his bullish strength and body size to win duels and the second balls upfront across the offensive third and draw his teammates into the game. Only thing is his footwork is somewhat better than Lukaku's. Uche's utilisation by Pepe Bordalas is well understood by me. A big guy who gives you aerial superiority for second balls in aerial duels and also one who is quite adept at holding up plays and shrugging off challenges with ease while also navigating his way out of tight spaces and finding solutions to bring teammates into play. He is a midfielder. A big lad with the brains of a midfielder but the body of a targetman to Bordalas. Philosopher1979: |

Uche will cook in the Super Eagles in midfield if we play him alongside an AM profile and a deepseated CDM profile in a 3 man midfield. The lad is a good fit. Alternatively, let us not forget he can play the Onyedika role as well but the evolution in his qualities I am witnessing in La Liga so far suggests his may be somewhat similar to Bellingham's (CDM-CM-AM/False CF). charlesemeka85: 1 Like 1 Share |

Why asking me? Don't trust my judgment since I am also the one who recommended Nwakali. Recommended Amuneke and also Recommended Alhassan Yusuf who has gone to MLS football. So like your fellow DaveP said, don't take me serious. π€π» humility33: |

Honestly, I wanted to wait a few more games before I say it. I wanted to truly understand why Pepe perists with Uche up-top and to see if Uche himself show potential for evolution into a player that can become an offensive third dominator like Bellingham (who also played CDM/CM at Dortmund) was in his first season for Madrid.... and I think I have my first answers. Will keep watching but it is clear we have a pearl in Uche. He can give us options tactically and ensure we are more flexible. charlesemeka85: |

Ndidi takes out the Italian Beckanbaeur but bags a yellow for it. Ndidi tracks back but positionally, he is playing in a pretty advanced role as he joins Vardy to press from the front. |

TheSuperNerd: This kid. And it came under Enzo Maresca. TheGoodJoe was right again about what Maresca could cook with the talents on show in this Chelsea side. Just needed a manager who can strike the right synergy and choose a near balanced 11 from the pack of stars in Chelsea's stacked dressing room. NB: TheGoodJoe also ID'ed Palmer when the kid was still starting out City and we both came to an agreement that indeed Palmer is a top talent bound for the top. Well here we are. 1 Like 1 Share
