I remember Amokachi's goal in USA 94. A Striker needs to be swift, attacking the ball in this situation. 4 Likes 1 Share

popizaino: Too slow there. When you see how swift and hard the likes of Haaland, Gyokeres, Osimhen shoot, you will strongly request for an upgrade. On the street they would say 'he dey count leg' before kicking the ball. 1 Like |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by swiz123(m): 8:19am On Sep 29 |
popizaino: I have watched Saka over the years and realized that the mumu's confidence peaks when he sees below average defenders. When Arsenal meets an equally strong opponent, Utaka becomes an upgrade on Saka. Fraudster will start forming imaginary pain and limping so he could be excused for the day. I wasn't satisfied with Palmer's game as a winger and I am sure I wasn't the only one. I suggested he should be moved centrally where his quality can be made most effective. Almost immediately, I knew he is miles ahead of Saka whom you shockingly labeled a world class player. At the Euros, Saka who started 7 games scored the same number goal contribution as Palmer who started non and played less than half of Saka's minutes. Havertz in 5 games has more contribution than Saka at the euros. And if he cowered like Saka does in vital moments, we wouldn't have that UCL. Saka tumbled over Neuer's perfectly placed leg looking for a fraudulent penalty while Havertz dribbled Ederson brilliantly and slotted home to win us the Champions League. To me, these two scenarios sums up whatever comparison you wish to bring. |

So far Jackson shots are going on target (whether stopped by keeper or defender), that's an improvement on last season when all his shots were going wide 2 Likes 1 Share |

Sportsweb: Jackson should secure a place in Senegal starting line up first. I can't insult myself comparing him to a German indispensable first team player. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Ibime(m): 8:30am On Sep 29 |
Ibime: Sancho cooking is no surprise to me. Modern wingers dribbling styles are adapted to dribble while cutting inside to their stronger foot (inverted wingers). Sancho was never afforded that at Manure. Looking at his style you know he would cook on the left wing and anything you get from him on the right wing is a bonus but suboptimal This is why you have to respect Rodrygo at Madrid who keeps performing on right wing although below the levels he can reach on left wing. Rodrygo on left wing will actually be elite world class Players who perform in non-inverted wing positions should be respected like William did for us for years to accommodate Hazard on the LW. Seeing 35 year old William cooking on left wing for Fulham last season gives you a glimpse of his true ceiling in the correct position 11 Likes 1 Share |

airmark: You can proudly say this now, but when you were told that supporting cast is more important than signing another SF, you strongly disagreed. The attack you badmouth has been responsible for our 15 goals, the highest in the league so far. No single goal scored by a defender yet. The same set of attackers; Jackson, Madueke and Palmer doing the job. Rest and stop being dogmatic. 3 Likes |

nateevs: And there they will remain permanently. A permanent state of shut up. The manner in which we responded to the first goal, bombarded and flooded them with countless chances is a hallmark of fine coaching. I remember how we struggled against a high-pressing team last season, yesterday's game would have resulted in a loss. Kudos Enzo Maresca! |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by airmark(m): 8:51am On Sep 29 |
amodu: Maybe you didn't have data when I was asking for 1 LWF that could dribble in tight spaces and Timbros was strongly against it. Had we got a clinical finisher, we would have beaten Crystal Palace and be leading the table now and become a strong contender for the trophy after spending over 1bn on players. My opinion on football is too complex for casuals and my high expectation of a striker is alien to Gen Z Chelsea fans. But that's not my problem. Jackson burying this chance would have seen us topping the table today, but most of you wouldn't see it.
