Good day people. Please, I need your urgent advice on what to do. I applied to SAQA for my credentials verification this year January. I have made the payment. After some weeks, I received a mail from SAQA, informing me to make a payment ( credential verification payment) to the credential awarding institution, as requested by the institution. I did immediately and forwarded the payment receipt to SAQA as requested by them.

After some days, I contacted my credentials awarding institution to confirm if they have received a mail from SAQA, I was told they are yet to get a mail from SAQA, as regard my credentials verification . I sent a mail to SAQA about the development, no reply up til now.

I sent another email copying both SAQA and my credentials awarding institution, yet nothing.

According to SAQA, I only have 3 weeks for my credentials awarding institution to respond to them , in order to avoid cancellation. This timeline will elapsed this week Wednesday. I don't know what to do.

Hello everyone. I want to appreciate everyone for the insightful contributions shared in this platform. I came here some years back seeking help in some areas as regards as my PhD programme in Computer Science. I am happy to announce that I have completed the programme. Thanks everyone for your contribution and advise that assisted me during the programme. God bless you all.

I need help on reputable Computer journals where I can publish some articles on cybersecurity and Machine Learning.

I also need links to Post-doctoral position in Computer Science and how to get admitted in them.

Good day great scholars.
I am currently working on effects of energy efficiency strategies on industrial building designs.
Please I wish to know if there are tools which I can use to measure energy performance, day lighting, heating, ventilation and air performance of buildings.
How can I get them?

Dear all,
Please I need your advise regarding my doctoral studies.
My PhD proposal happens to be my own concept which was further developed with the help of my supervisor when she agrees to supervise me. I am a self funded student alsi been supported by the research group I belong to. The issue now is that she has left the university because her contract has expires but she had an agreement with leadership of the unit I belong to see my through my studies. This is based on the fact that she will be paid some percentage but she refused. She want the unit to make a contract with her consulting company located in another country.

.The unit leadership said they can't because is too costly for them.
. She insist on getting a formal contract from them.
. The unit now is suggesting, I change supervisor and join a project of theirs which is similar to mine. This mean I will be paid for the next three years based on that project

Please house, what can you advise me to do?

To insist on my supervisor and join him to mount pressure to get contract and see me through

Or

To agree to change supervisor and join a project.

NB: I have a manuscript almost ready to submit with my supervisor before supervision was suspended.

Thanks. I will be in the comment section to read all comments

Am in presently at the beginning of my second year and my supervisor has suspended supervision.

Bro, separate politics from academia. Supervision is academia, negotiating who gets what contract is politics. Moreover, it's the group that supports your funding and not your supervisor.

The group agrees to pay her for her support but she refuses for her own selfish gains,... Cos she wants more money if the contract goes through her consulting firm.

You goal is to finish your PhD. I understand Maintaining good relationships with your supervisor is good in case you need her reference tomorrow. So best case scenario is to try as much as possible to be neutral, and leave the politics part.

What made you think that if you insist on your supervisor, that that would force them to give him/her the contract with her company?

Yes. The issue was resolved after sending many emails to SAQA. In most of my emails, I copied both my certificate awarding institution here in Nigeria, and SAQA. I also followed SAQA on Facebook, and wrote about the issues I was having on their page. After some times, SAQA acknowledged my numerous emails, and apologized for any inconvenience. The verification certificate was eventually sent to me few days later.

We have all been schooled here by our seniors not to pay for publication and how to identify predatory journals. Read this thread from the very beginning and learn. I have read this thread 5 times now and I learn and relearn every time. So do the same.

Go to web of science and type the name of the journal there, if you can't find the journal there then I don't think it is a reputable journal. Don't waste your resources and publish in a predatory journal.

To find reputable journals in your field. Go to web of science and source for journals published by Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis and Wiley online. Most of them are free

To learn more about finding reputable journals, kindly read this thread from the beginning as Geosystem suggested. The quality of your research won't be the same again
