We watch how the market reacts. The result is not as good as last year. Lower PAT and lower eps compared to last year.
This is a "rights issue" influenced interim dividend.

I will still take GTCO and Zenith over UBA.

Have you crunched the numbers side by side. UBA is relatively undervalued compared to Zenith and GTCO (& many other Tier 1 & 2 banks) if you crunch the numbers based on last week closing prices.

I hope this will not be one time off things.
I also hope tony will not collect the change on year end dividend.

Just thinking out loud.

That jump is massive. Can they sustain a total dividend not less than N5 year in the years ahead after a capital raise. Management (Tony) needs to out clearly with a message like this.

It is still on NASD and will be moved to the main bourse two weeks time. But at the new split price, the shares are being rushed 500k Volume has gone through already. I will advise to buy here rather than waiting for the NGX listing. I have mentioned the caveat emptor with that as a PE firm wants to exit

Though UBA is currently more underpriced than Zenith or GTCO, its CBN mandated capital raise need to be priced closer to Zenith for several reasons.

In 2007 the public offer prices for the banks were
UBA N35.00 (rights was N34)
Zenith N38.90 (rights was N36.90)
FB N33.00 (rights was N31)
ACCESS N14.90
Fidelity N8:00
FCMB N14:00

2023 FY and 2024Q1 Book Values per share
UBA N57.37 & N73.81
Zenith N73.95 & N90.61
FB N47.88 & N52.53
ACCESS N42.34 & N **(looks lower than many quote)
Fidelity N13.67 & N14.6
FCMB N19.4 & N 22.62

Looking at earnings per share UBA, Access, Zenith and GTCO are competing strongly with Zenith in the lead and UBA attempting to drag position with GTCO. But I guess investors will place premiums on consistent dividend payout and growth. Zenith and GTCO are leading here.

Quoting my last week Monday discuss and commenting further:

With the N2 dividend payout UBA is now working nicely to get the valuation it deserves, a CBN mandated capital raise price that will be closer to Zenith and GTCO offer prices.

Just in time... grin

UBA RI/PO should be announced soon...
KarlTom:
UBA seem to be delaying their DIV announcement until Zenith concludes their RI/PO.

I wonder what they'll do now that Zenith has extended their offer for 2weeks... grin

This deapcap. What's really driving this stock? Na one of my school fees stocks that year. I still have many of it that I bought at very high price. Can't remember the price now but it should be around $8
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Sunrisepebble: 11:04am
The market is really not responding to the FMN news the way I thought it would. Perhaps people think the #70 is a fair price

Well done UBA.
U ve justified my offloading all my 7 digits holding in FBNH @N31.90 to add more units of UBA @ N23.95/24 to tk my UBA holding to over 3M. It was a total swap. One kobo I didn't take out.
Will even still chop that meagre 40k 2023 FY FBNH dividend (which I qualified for) whenever they are ready to pay it. Thank God for His grace. God is good.

you mean you are yet to receive your dividends for FBNH?

Dangote Sugar moving but NASCON keep falling. What is happening to NASCON?

I may have to selloff a major part of my NASCON shares and buy UBA or Access Bank shares for now till next year when any positive will come for NASCON.

It was actually because of the calculations that VAT may be deducted from the exit price...
So people don't want to pick above 62.50....

Should there be any review up of the price from N70, then you'll know people are actually Interested. smiley

Ordinarily, some experts says it shouldn't be less than N100, considering the all time high of FMN in 2022.
