Good day all, I have a dummy reservation with Ethiopian airline that expires in 24hrs. Can I still use it for physical submission as I have an appointment with them on Thursday morning. Also, who do I address the Bank reference letter to? Which address? Thank you, |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 1:55pm On Sep 30 |
Bolaji16:Yes, dummy is fine as long as it carries departure and return date. Reference letter to be addressed to The Consulate General, South Africa Embassy Heritage Place, 21 Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria. Best wishes |

Hopefully they will give feedback soon. But then send mails to as many accounts you can from hacc@dha.gov.za and others mentioned on this page previously. ayokanmi3: |

Zoey1: Hi. Please do you have any info that passport is collected/submitted during submission of Critical Skill Visa(CSV) application at VFS? Secondly, assuming the response to the first question is a no (ie, passport isnt collected/submitted until there is a decision like Canada visa), how long is an applicant given as max time to provide his passport at VFS for stamping of the decision by SA embassy? Moreso, is hotel booking and flight required for CSV application submission? <Any other person who reads this and got any response should kindly respond. Many thanks for your assistance > A trip has been scheduled whre passport is required and of course the application for CSV is to be made before the planned trip. |

standfit007: You don't need to submit your passport for CSV anymore. According to VFS, when the decision is out, you have 6months or so to collect your decision else it will be returned to DHA or embassy. And yes, you need hotel and flight bookings for CSV applications, POF isn't huge though (5-10k rands equivalent will do) as you must have a job offer to be eligible in the first place. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by standfit007: 12:40pm On Oct 01 |
080bjaked: Very heplful feedback, thanks. Wondering how many days the hotel booking need to be as i'd have to pay direct to them right? will AirBnB be okay here? and/or any named hotel recommendation in midrand area? to and from flight should be what dates? do i need personal insurance? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by 080bjaked(m): 1:14pm On Oct 01 |
standfit007: Hotel booking for 2weeks should suffice (shouldn't your new employer take care of that though?). Anyways, the good news is you don't have to pay. I used Airport Inn Isando for time and I just sent them an email and used their reply for my book (however that was long ago). Flight (also unpaid) can be one-way or if you want return, atleast 6months apart. Insurance is required for student Visa (or so) but you don't need it for CSV. Please refer to the DHA website for updated requirements though. Maybe I'm out of touch on some of these items. |

Please I need help with my DHA Tourist visa application Do we need to upload all the documents requested? Both required and optional documents. I am traveling with my Son who is just 18months. We went to get the Yellow fever vaccine today and was told he can’t have it till he’s 2years, so we didn’t get his yellow fever card. I have uploaded all other required documents in that section. I still don’t know why it’s asking me to upload more documents. I need help on what to do. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by standfit007: 1:54pm On Oct 01 |
080bjaked: You are a lovely soul! Thanks for the guidance...super super useful responses, man and/or lady , thank you. Not sure you are out of sync with latest requirements, only MIE(past employment verification) and job offer letter are the additional/new requirements besides the de-listing of some occupations from the CS list. Hotel booking should be for the first month of work, imo. Employer should sort this but we just have to be prepared to demonstrate good faith as long as it is not specifically stated as not-a-requirement. |

hotice1954: For the child, add vaccination card in lieu of yellow card. Did you add birth certificate and/or notarized copy of the child?possibly add consent(to travel with child) from father if you have indicated you're legally married anywhere. My quick thoughts |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hotice1954: 3:05pm On Oct 01 |
standfit007: Thank you for your response but he doesn’t have a vaccination card as he was born in the UK. I have uploaded his birth certificate and consent to travel. I don’t know what else to upload |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by standfit007: 3:23pm On Oct 01 |
hotice1954: Over here(9ja), you know new borns are given varied regimen of vaccines, and if you have been here for say up to or more than 3months, the tropics is diff and so immunization is necessary and advice. consider getting immunization card from a primary health centre so that it'd serve in lieu of yellow card as this SA can be unbelievable. 1 Like |

standfit007: Try booking.com. You can get more affordable options there. Five days to two weeks should be okay. Well, what part of Midrand is your destination, look for a place within it or close to it. I don't think insurance is part of your visa requirement. |

1. Yes, if you are applying on DHA website. 2. No, if you are using VFS. akinola12345: |
