I woke up this morning pumped up to hit the streets but seeing the low turn out I am forced to conclude that majority of Nigerians are not ready to protest against the bad policies of this government.... I had read yesterday night that several groups in the northern part of the country pulled out of the protest sighting flimsy reasons while over 60 youth groups pulled out a week ago.... Today's protest has failed as the turn out is low compared to the August nationwide protest.... Tinubu's APC media agents have succeeded in instilling fear and killing the moral of Nigerians. It is indeed shameful and unfortunate that under the harsh economic situation facing the country, many Nigerians worked against this peaceful protest even when it is done to force the government to reverse terrible economic policies that they are facing…. As it stands the October #fearless movement has been sabotaged and won’t make any impact because of lack of participation by majority of Nigerians. Based on lesson learnt from previous August nationwide protest where police and sponsored thugs who were protesting against the protest were able to attack due to the fact that we were few protesting, I will not bother attending the protest anymore as low turn out by majority of Nigerians across the country means that nothing will be achieved... there are already many Nigerians online laughing and mocking the few people protesting in Abuja and Lagos….. It is sad but the truth is that many Nigerians are too selfish and tribalistic to support any movement that will make this country to progress. I had hoped that the turn out for the protest will be massive across the 36 states to send a strong message to the government but unfortunately Nigerians are not tired of Tinubu's bad policies, they are not ready for genuine progress…. The people will continue to suffer until we all learn to put aside our selfish tribalistic ways and unite to fight for a better future that will benefit everyone ….. 2 Likes |

Bebigiby1: Let me tell you one of the biggest problem of Nigeria, injustice. This thing you are complaining about, it didn't start today, not even with Tinubu, it started long long long time ago. The only difference now is Tinubu came to amplify it... Let me ask you a question, if you are not Igbo.... When APC were busy gaslighting, insulting and attacking Igbos for no reason especially during elections in Lagos... Did you fight for the Igbos? When Buhari was busy killing Igbos in the east and insulting the Igbos, did you fight for the Igbos? Injustices have been going on, most times it is Igbos who try to fight and speak out against injustices in the north and south by APC but guess what they start gaslighting the Igbos and sometimes punish the Igbos for speaking out... And most times other tribes just look away while the injustice continues, presently the country is too divided to unite to fight against these people ... The injustices have built over time when everyone should have been together fighting with Igbos against the injustices, a lot looked away only a few spoke out thinking it doesn't concern them but today we all know better... Brendaniel:What are you saying. Did you people protest against Jonathan government then, that Obasanjo government was far better. When others were protesting, you people didn't because you guys were benefiting, same goes to Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani. Tribes of Yoruba, Hausa/Fulani and Igbo are mostly the biggest problem of Nigeria. You people are only complaining because you aren't close to power again. Same way many notable Northerners didn't complain about Buhari and now most Yorubas didn't also condemned Tinubu now. Igbos can't be exonerated. Under Jonathan, Nigeria withnessed second oil boom after IBB time. What did he do with it. What did we in south south benefitted from Jonathan's presidency. He couldn't fix just one refinery out of the three located in our zone. East west road was so bad, delta steel company at aladja delta state was in comatose. Jonathan contributed to the economy woes of Nigeria. Why subsidy many things because Nigeria was making a lot of money, instead of tackling the root problems. Ask yourself why many governors rush to Buhari, immediately he was sworn in for bailout. Even pdp governors were not exempted. Some states could not pay salaries under Jonathan and even federal staff salary was most times delayed. You igbos benefitted personal against performance in your various states. The late Ubah was the major importer of PMS to the country under his company called Capital oil. I personally knows his tankfarm at apapa then. There are others igbos too. Brendaniel: This is the same issue I keep having with you guys, you ppl always see yourself as saint and others as the devil. Just look at the statement you wrote, that you guys are trying to clean the mess that we crate. Even before the 2015 election, you guys have been attacking Yoruba, of which most Yoruba's were not even replying you guys bk then. The APC government has really done a lot of damage to this country and there are so many ppl from all the regions of the country including the SE that voted for APC. All this blame game will help solve anything. There are bad eggs among the Yoruba and also there are bad eggs among the Igbo, so it is a game of between good and bad and not about tribes. |
