This is very wrong information that is leading many Nigerian students to become stranded in Canada, as many students are struggling to find jobs. Many have been without a job for 9 to 12 months. Or how can you do 5 jobs with the 20 hours max allowed for students? It’s just impossible to work and pay those crazy tuition fees along with your rent. I see many students now declaring asylum because they are stranded due to financial difficulties, based on misleading and trashy information about working and studying in Canada ,please plan how you will pay your fees or you will be stranded in canada even resident and citizen are struggling for jobs now and study in canada no longer gurantee PR!

I had some money when I went to Canada but my 42,000 sch fees was paid with working here with so many extra savings. Internship alone was $10,000 for 2 months. My program was 2yrs. I did monthly payment plan. I didn’t spend a penny from my Nigeria account. I just want to encourage someone that your will and determination is enough. You don’t have to seek asylum, you can get that degree with your will. Just don’t be Lazy, that’s all. Ask questions and surround yourself with positive people. Just to add, my program was 20months and the fees was paid monthly for 20months

This kind of misleading motivation is pushing many into stress in Canada because they arrive with false hopes after reading exaggerated stories like this in 2024. How can you save 10k in two months? Even as a Canadian resident, I can't save that, and a student can only work 20 hours—so how can you save 10k? Please wake up; it's 2024, and Canada is struggling economically! Every student is welcome, but come prepared financially and stop believing in fairy tales. With over 13,000 students out of school and now seeking asylum in the last 8 months in 2024 mostly due to financially difficult , do you think they’re lazy!

Having 5 job offers doesn't mean that you will earn more money...all could be part time jobs, 3hour here,2hours there in a day..moving from one job to another,adding stress to your life..

After liquidating the funds kindly back it up with document to proof its source, you can use any of the account however I strongly recommend you include your salary account in your application.

Very well said. Let those who have ears listen. It is impossible to do 20 hours work per week which is what the law allows during school term and pay school fees and upkeep. You will need support from back home.

I am in Canada, and with the 20-hour work limit for students, it's not possible. I guess you arrived in Canada before COVID, and during COVID, students were allowed to work full time. However, the economy is not the same now, with high unemployment nd law,changing . As a student coming to Canada today, you need to plan how to pay your fees or consider options for loans. You cannot work to pay your school fees—it's 100% impossible. That's why many students are dropping out of school to claim asylum. Comparing the time when students could work full time with more job availability to now, when it's 20 hours and there are fewer jobs, are two different situations. Mr. Motivational Speaker!

I don’t know why your offer letter is taking so long; my recent offer letter took less time. You can email them if you do not receive the offer by the end of the month.
You can check Niagara University, Laurentian University, and Trinity Western University.
University Canada West (UCW) is fast as well but expensive, and living expenses in Vancouver are high.

I feel you, sincerely I do. The feelings you have robustly described is what many people in Nigeria are feeling with no light at the end of the tunnel. What keeps your brother going is that with dedication he will overcome these challenges and be stable and ultimately successful. However, you hardly see that in Nigeria, we are either waiting for political appointment to give us license to steal or get patronage from the political class via contract.
