Xenob: Changing to recommended oil now is medicine π after Death....... And it is not cost effective to start with. you will have to drain out and flush out the sludge. And also replace the oil seal of the engine. Depending on how badly sludge up the engine is . It will take time and money. You are better off getting a grade A tokunbo engine. Which again is not cost effective..... Manage the car like that until you can get a tokunbo car. We learn from our mistakes and move on. This is a learning experience. I learn the hard way and that is how get into the importation of engine oil business.. |

Greetings great minds I drove My Honda Civic manual 02 in a flooded raining water and I was able to park it in my compound but, on the next day I noticed that the car doo enter into gear any longer and the gear handle will be so strong that you canβt select any of the gears. Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Bola4boy(m): 3:30pm On Oct 03 |
If thermostat is installed and fan is working directly. Will it still affect fuel consumption negatively? Cos I understand that if ac is put on, fan works permanently |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by ksmart027(m): 3:34pm On Oct 03 |
Qoopman:Install your thermostat and reverse your fan back to factory. Flew from any Mechanic that will advise you not to and also monitor your temperature when you do these to ensure your car doesn't overheat. |

ksmart027: Thanks so much sir, the mechanic said I should not put it. Exactly what you said and also if I put it and it overheats, what should I do? Cause Iβm considering putting it back |

Hi Dru. Well done. I'm not sure you do other brand of oil except Mobil right? Also if you don't drive every day, let's say mostly weekend, city driving. Can you service every 4-6months if you use Synthetic oil? dru23: |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by ksmart027(m): 8:07pm On Oct 03 |
Qoopman:Ignore the mechanic and look for another one to install it for you. If your car is still overheating, find the root of the overheating and fix it. And always watch your instrument cluster when driving because your car will run at its optimum temperature. 1 Like |

ThePundit14: Funny u mention it . Castrol and Pennzoil oil will be arriving before the end of this month. So be on the look out ........ It seems you pamper your car π or weekend car . My advice is change the oil every 3months plz don't wait till 6months. Once you using quality brand of oil and full synthetic. You should be ok π |

dru23: I need some Pennzoil. Create a thread on arrival to keep us updated. |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by donshady(m): 2:59pm On Oct 04 |
ThePundit14: To keep it simple - unless you drive a lot of highway miles for every drive with minimal idling, oil change should be done every 5,000 miles or 6 months for modern cars, whichever comes first.. I change my car oil every 6-7months and I mostly drive it on weekends only. I drive less than 1000miles every 6months. Changing your oil every 2-3months is a total waste of money. Some synthetic oil can go as much as 10,000miles for 1year. I have been using Pennzoil for 3years and it's been wonderful. Quiet engine all the time. |

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Conner44: 5:35pm On Oct 04 |
Tiliphoto123: What was the last job performed on your vehicle before you started experiencing the overnight battery drainage? New radio? Refurbished central locking unit? Etc an electrical job not performed well is your issue because battery drains don't just start without a catalyst. And the catalyst is usually any job done with wrong wiring specifications |

Conner44:Good day sir My Honda accord 06 just started idling at 1500 which is too high, in fact, itβs as high as 2000 when I start it in the morning which was never the case before. What could be the culprit sir |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by jceesquare(m): 7:30pm On Oct 04 |
Toylove:Check for vacuum leak. Confirm your IACV and throttle body is still fine. Check to see if the throttle or cruise control cable is not properly adjusted or hanging somewhere. Confirm if interior carpet is not partially depressing your throttle pedal |

Macmilla: Oga rest and read well, if I wanted to manipulate I wouldn't come here to ask for help. I noticed it was not right and I did that as a temporary solution and if you had read the response before typing you would have hesitated. |
