Most of them went through school to read and write but the school did not go through them. The only thing they received from these schools is the ability to read and write. Most lack basic common sense and rational thinking capacity.
Sadly these are the same low IQ youths that will be calling someone " illiterate ", just because he doesn't have a PHD.
The fact is that some people got phd not necessarily because they are smart but because they were determined to get one hence they percievered until they get one, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they are smart. They might just be of average intelligence.
On the other hand you have people who are not educated but are very smart when it comes to making important decisions, but in Nigeria we tend to put too much importance on educational qualifications as a judge of the ability to be a good leader.
We have had people with PhDs as President and Governors and most were complete failures.
