Hi guys, while setting up my starlink account, the available subscription for my location includes Business subscription which is 50k per month. Can I opt for that?

Hope you have seen the latest Increment and the implications it has after October 31....

You may be paying 167K per month on that roaming package.

The choice is yours though..

Please.. Please.. Don't come here sounding elitist... You have to also know pricing is also a crucial part of commerce..

Don't come here sounding as if we don't have any right to vent... You feel everyone can afford 75K?

I remember one of the grounds Starlink was allowed to operate in Nigeria was the insistent that they factor in economic realities in pricing..

By November, I am dumping this kit and going back to my GSM jeje.... It was great enjoying seamless Internet for a very little while..
Welcome to Airtel. I made the right choice, knowing Americans and their expensive piece of shit, Elon Musk being no different.

Better beg your government to bring Safricom of Kenya come. Nigerians will go for it in place of Starlink. At least, na our African brothers get am. grin grin grin

Nah...and that's Ugandan website.

Download my Airtel app... their plans vary but the best is the per speed plan

You can see the first one and the last one in the first screenshot. Also, there are others per speed, depending on how much you want to pay monthly. I think the highest being 50k at the present.

Based on some people's experience, their speed don't drop until they crossed 1TB for their unlimited plans. For some, nothing happens.

Even Starlink puts you off priority list. 💁🏽‍♂️

Airtel network is practically shit in most regions in Nigeria... That's the real issue we have.

There are only two or three places you can see 5g network that's sure. Portharcourt, Abuja, and Lagos in Nigeria.

Others where you may pick it up are Ibadan, Kano...

As for Airtel, those three cities first mentioned. The 4g speed is good for me. When 5g expands more, then good. They should only work more on the 4g+

Bros I sabi wetin I dey talk na. I reside in Lagos, commute frequently to Ikeja. I have checked their coverage and I pass/ dine where they supposedly have 5g. It either doesn't show up or work. Average of 70MBps in Ikeja, where I live in Ipaja it's even worse, like 15MBps. Abegi, please anyone that has Airtel and has used 5g in Lagos, please let me know the area let me carry my a modem and try it. How can I have 5g router for 7months plus and I have not tasted it.

Hello guys, I got the Airtel Router (Hertz 6) and I've been on it for over a year. It works okay but recently, the network bar has been acting up. About 2 months ago, whenever I switch off the router and turn it back on, the red light doesn't turn blue until after several hours. It's gotten worse: for about a week now, there's a static red light on the network bar and it doesn't ever turn blue anymore. I've switched it off/on, changed location several times to different areas in Jos, removed battery, removed SIM, factory reset, but same story. What do I do? (The two antennas are intact btw).

No, you can't. However, if you are a current customer, when you renew this month, you will be charged at the old rate, not the reviewed rate.

I think those with 5G router and with 5G network are mostly those enjoying this Airtel unlimited plan.

I advised two of my guys to get the Airtel 5G router, based on the feedback I saw here, thinking it would perform better on the 5G router, not knowing these guys have no Airtel 5G at their location. Since then, it's been same complain everyday. Some days they're unable to browse at all, no matter the placement of the router or physical location of the router within their house, even multiple restarts of the router doesn't help.

I'm on roaming and will switch to residential next week. My only worries is if on 20th, my payment day, they'll charge me 38k or 75k. Since I did a conversion from roam to residential, they may see me as a new sign up and not as an old user. cry
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by ask4bk(m): 7:18am On Oct 05, 2024
People like us that work where there's no single mobile network, starlink is our only option. I've no option than to pay the 75k.

Tinubu and APC should help us stop keeeling the naira so that we don't one day pay 200k per month 😭

You will be charged 75k, that's how it works. It's best you stick to roaming until November, since you will be charged 48k this month on roaming.

I don't have 5g network, yet I am enjoying it for work, movies, games...

It depends on the network in their area....mine is 4g+... what I did was to find a sweet spot in my house; sometimes it is the window....other times, the verandah.

I think before anyone buys the Airtel 5G router , they should first use an Airtel SIM on phone to know the state of Airtel network their area. That's what I did and I saw the speed was manageable for Nigeria 4G, I was getting up to 30mbps. I bought the 5G router and it even connected to 5G network. Still testing it, so far it has been good. The speed hovers around around 20mbps sometimes but it gets as high as 60mbps.

You are speaking to the wrong person, bro. That is what I have been using for 3 months now, despite that network in my compound can be somehow. Check the attached pics of my speed this afternoon. Slightly above 20mbps in the morning (22 to 25). Location is Ile-Ife. I got mine 50k. I only recommend the Airtel's ZLT X25 and not the Nokia-branded own.

The guy is hurting, but making hasty generalisations and reposting his poor experience with the airtel. He has a right to vent sha.

Many people, including my humble self dey enjoy the airtel unlimited. I use the Nokia branded hardware ODU device. It's been a very seamless experience and I don't regret ever buying it. So far, so good.

Will they consider selling the router to me and then consider buying the ODU which is designed to boost network speeds in areas with poor network reception?
