Struggles Of A Private School Teacher by Factcheck0001: 2:30pm On Oct 08
Good day everyone

I just want to pour out my mind about series of events that got me worried lately, I have a friend who happens to be a bachelor (I am married though) so on Sundays he will always invite me to his house to come and play game and have some drinks with our other friends too.

But lately I noticed something about his neighbour who happens to be a private school teacher, though I have been noticing it on a steady and I didn't know others were observing it too till something happened on Sunday and everyone voiced out.

On getting to my friends house last week Sunday, I observed that his neighbours wife and 2 children were outside, I greeted them and entered. After like 2 hours we wanted to go and watch match I realized the 4 of them are now outside with the husband, normally as per say we discuss football together so I asked if he misplaced the keys and he told me the landlord staying in d same compound locked the door cos they were oweing 5 months house rent.

I felt bad for them so me and my guys with him went to beg the landlord and the man made it clear that he has tried enough that because we came to beg he will give them the grace of 3 months to sort the bills or else he will lock it again and the only time he will open it is when they agree they are packing that very minute.

The landlord reluctantly gave us the key as witness, so we called the man in and discussed how he will make the payment, the man made it clear he's stranded, he said he collects 40k as salary and 15k for extra lesson every month and his wife collects 20k as salary but they use his wife's salary to sort the children school fees.

Many atimes I observe anytime we want to buy something from the landlady shop in front of the house, this guy comes to buy something but will always tell the woman I will sort u but since it doesn't concern me I lock up but the one of last week Sunday touched me.

I am not here to seek for funds for anyone but to implore us reading this to stretch an helping hands to private school teachers around us, those people are going through hell and they can't beg.

The man told me he stopped job hunting with the little 55k because it affect the family a lot anytime he travels for interviews

To tech savvy guys here, please which online course do u think that guy can learn that doesn't involve money because I intend to be giving him 5gig per week and we intend to get him laptop too but what online course can he be doing with ordinary android phone for now pending the time he will get a laptop?

Thanks for your little effort and God bless you for that...

Tinubulation is real... Satan will soon visit Tinubu and his minions for the untold hardship they've caused the masses! The visit is not for drinks but for payment in the same coins they've been paying the masses!

This is heart wrenching!
The only way he can survive as a teacher is to have more rich kids for extra coaching and earn more than his salary extra!

We ask Allah to increase us in wealth and health!

Everything is Tinubu why not blame God for the calamity too?

in Isaiah 45:7, I form the light and create the darkness; I bring prosperity and create calamity. I, the LORD, do all these things.

Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker—one clay pot among many. Does the clay ask the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘He has no hands’? 10Woe to him who says to his father, ‘What have you begotten?’ or to his mother, ‘What have you brought forth?’” 11Thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: “How dare you question Me about My sons, or instruct Me in the work of My hands? That 5gig per week will go a long way for him. He can learn a lot on YouTube.

Note that if he's not a man that is computer inclined, then there is no point in learning anything online. Learning a trade will be best.

I learned web design (front end) and a little back end on youtube alone.

Why would a family man be working as a private school teacher??

Private school teaching is for married women whom their husbands don't want them to work far away from home and also have time for their family; or young people who just finished NYSC without a job for the main time.

If as a married man you are doing private school teaching, na hunger go kpai you, except na you get the school.

We know parents don't pay good enough school fees for these schools to pay you like government.

It's not too late to learn a skill or trade

Between God and Man, I'm a private school teacher and this is my exact story. I am even homeless right now. The difference between my story and this one is that I'm still single and my salary isn't up to 50k. My landlord evicted me last month. I'm squatting with my friend whose girlfriend is around and my friend has given me till tommorow to pack outta his house. It's so painful for all young private sch teachers. We can't even feed. We are the most affected of this Economic turmoil.

Pls if anyone can Help me with something to buy foodstuffs, I will be glad. The mockery is now unbearable. I'm always running into debts all the time. It is now a curse to be a private school teacher

Today is even my birthday but I'm sad. I'm so sad. I now discovered that Shelter is more important than food honestly.
Someone should help with anything they can so I can buy little foodstuffs pls 🙏🙏🙏

Teaching jobs in private schools used to be cool until APC came into power.
Speaking from experience.
Today, the amount paid is not enough.
Most teachers are owing, borrowing from others and loan apps to survive. No savings.
People who live in their own house or house where they don't pay rent are enjoying right now.

One thing I've noticed about most graduates is that they usually don't know when to set aside their certificate and hustle like a person without one.

Teaching or not, how can a reasonable person (a family man for that matter) remain on a salary of 55K monthly? To make matters worse, he also enrolled his children in a private school where he has to pay school fee. Like seriously? Where's the rationalism? angry angry

The solution to your guy's problem is quite simple; HE SHOULD GO ALL IN (by becoming a complete teacher) or HE SHOULD GO HOME (change his line of hustle).

The man should decide on what he want and not what you want him to do.
If I were him, I will resign and focus more on looking for private lessons I will teach. Private lessons pays more and less stressful than teaching in a school.

I spoke with one teacher in the place I served about need for him to learn a digital skills. He was reluctant to learn even though he has a laptop too and has data.

He studied engineering and love applying his engineering skills in order to impress his Madam and teacher. I told him to use his engineering knowledge to learn solar panel installations, plumbing, repair of computer, repair of generators; yet he is still relunctant. And this man is 35 years now yet he doesn't want to see life outside teaching.

Some male teachers in private school doesn't want to learn. Organize free skills training, they will not go. They are just there looking for imaginary jobs that they will not get. Only few are eager to improve their income by adding extra hustle to teaching job
