It's not about being a private school teacher. Some people are paid such figure or less as salary. The economy is affecting most people. Cut your coat according to your size.

Op prayers is unnecessary as you and generations will surely reap this seed of good you are sowing into this family.

As someone said, you and your guys should do something to help his immediate situation so he can have a clear mind to learn a skill.
Stock his house with foodstuff and pay like 6 months rent.

Also, don't assume he will do well in digital skills. Talk to him to know what he likes or has aptitude to grasp.

we press small change give am but all of us too na hustler

There are some things I won't be able to divulge especially on NAIRALAND
Please sir, I'm also a private teacher in Lokoja. But I'll not blink a second before moving to Lagos, since I have people there.
Please, if you can help me with a better job, I'll be eternally grateful.
I finished NYSC in April of this year..

My new boss said, the only thing you can do to survive this economy is either you reduce your expenses or increase your income

As a family man, his solution is to increase his income. Tell your wife to be selling things, maybe like fruits around.shecan start with her month salary, it's gradual thing but pray for supernatural blessings. That's only thing that can help this time around because by strength no man can.

I pray may the Lord visit you and your household with supernatural blessings as He done for me

U are talking about millions here now, someone who no Sabi how e go pay 120k house rent, how do u expect him to get millions to travel?
I said I would have advised he travel out because no business can survive Tpain economic policies but the money is fucking much now. I wish he can see a miracle take him out of Nigeria to UK or USA.

And if you give him the laptop to learn this supposed "digital skills", he would learn in 3 months and balance well to pay his rent and feed his family right? Also every business operates from a 200k shop in Nigeria.

As a teacher in a public school in Kwara state, my salary and palliative is #55k (45+10k palliative).

I came here begging when my wife put to bed and no one offered any financial assistance, a moderator even banned me till 2026

How did you get a teaching appointment with Kwara state government?

I went there some times back and the teaching board said their hands are tied.

Why should one work as a teacher?

Kai you are very ignorant. Even the guy in question is just like every other skill-less, unproductive and unenlightened graduates Nigerian universities produce every year. The problem is not even teaching. I earn more than half a million naira as basic salary and twice my salary on my monthly lessons. Do the math, e go shock you. If you don't have the right skills and technical know-how you can't thrive in any industry. Same applies to teaching. Let him go and acquire how to teach Cambridge subjects and build his experience in a Cambridge school. Then the sky is just the beginning. No be everybody must learn tech, Teaching pays if you know the way.

That 5gig per week will go a long way for him. He can learn a lot on YouTube.

Note that if he's not a man that is computer inclined, then there is no point in learning anything online. Learning a trade will be best.

I learned web design (front end) and a little back end on youtube alone.

Please drop the link or the title,

Why would a family man be working as a private school teacher??

Private school teaching is for married women whom their husbands don't want them to work far away from home and also have time for their family; or young people who just finished NYSC without a job for the main time.

If as a married man you are doing private school teaching, na hunger go kpai you, except na you get the school.

We know parents don't pay good enough school fees for these schools to pay you like government.

It's not too late to learn a skill or trade
bro you really nailed it

Between God and Man, I'm a private school teacher and this is my exact story. I am even homeless right now. The difference between my story and this one is that I'm still single and my salary isn't up to 50k. My landlord evicted me last month. I'm squatting with my friend whose girlfriend is around and my friend has given me till tommorow to pack outta his house. It's so painful for all young private sch teachers. We can't even feed. We are the most affected of this Economic turmoil.

Pls if anyone can Help me with something to buy foodstuffs, I will be glad. The mockery is now unbearable. I'm always running into debts all the time. It is now a curse to be a private school teacher

Today is even my birthday but I'm sad. I'm so sad. I now discovered that Shelter is more important than food honestly.
Someone should help with anything they can so I can buy little foodstuffs pls πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
