Firstly, most of the Customer service personnels have no freaking idea on how to solve most issues, I keep wondering the criteria used in employing them but at the end of the day, na Naija we dey.

A friend has a 4G router and swapped with my 5G router and SIM works flawlessly, just as you can use the Sims in routers, mifis as well as phones and it works just fine.

However, the fact that they don't sell Data SIM alone is very true for all GSM networks, swift, smile and spectranet networks however sell just the SIM for interested parties.

Those three are the truly unlimited ones

Tried swapping before but didn't work. Wud try again when home and revert

True, Recently, I've had some connectivity issues after the last rainfall, needing to restart my router often and even contacting customer care. But overall, the service is good.

Better check that the service is ok in your area before you purchase. Airtel data is like glo, very limited in good coverage.

Does anyone have any idea how to tell Airtel about issues with their services: trying to access anything on 76.76.21.21 (basically most sites hosted on vercel eg, https://posthog.com/ https://oxide.computer) or 185.199.109.133 (any subdomain on githubusercontent.com, so releases and images on github don't load) results in a 100% packet loss

emailing them doesn't get a response, and their twitter tech has zero idea whats happening and told me to reset the router (which for the benefit of the doubt i did do)

the only workaround to this is to use a vpn and it's pretty annoying

Well I don't think it's an airtel network issue. I experienced the same problem accessing or downloading/cloning files from github. It's a Nigerian IP issue most likely.

Honestly I have not thought about this. I am comfortable with the 4G network cos the Airtel 5G isn't even available in my area and I don't also have a 5G supported phone to confirm if it is.

They're very daft and inept they lack basic knowledge on most technical problems their solution is always reboot your Device

One thing i like about MTN they've good technical support

I got it. Just yet to pick it up and test it. My ODU got me covered. Hopefully I will pick it up this week. I might however not get to test it anytime soon.
