Everyday u come to nairaland xpectin to see some breath of good news after a hard and tiresome day. Yes it is absolute nonsense day in day out. Rinse and repeat.
I thought d said if transactions btw nnpc and dangote refinery is dome in naira, the price will drop. Is this incompetence of the govt or the usual things have to get hard to get better.

Subsidy is gone.

Price will go up and down according to market dictates, primarily the price of crude oil in the international market.

Whether you fail to accept it or not, there's a silent state capture that is ongoing that will make Nigerians slaves to Tinubu in Nigeria. The way the likes of Akpabio, Oshiomole and different governors have been wearing Tinubu cap lately shows there will be a time Tinubus image will be on every street to be worshipped like Baal before you go out in the morning.
If this is not the case I am wondering what is giving this government the temerity to keep pushing the people to the extreme like this, just this morning they announced increase in drivers license and now this yet the docile Nigerians as usual will keep quiet.
The Nigeria of today has been captured by political jobbers who have infiltrated everywhere and are subjecting the people to untold hardship like slaves and the people who are supposed to unite to resist their enslavers are quiet because of religious and tribal differences.
Fight your oppressors and stop this enslavement.

I don't even know the usefulness of nnpc in this country. Despite buying from dangote local market, they still went ahead to increase price of petrol. Are they still paying landing cost, shipping fees, and besides they're buying in naira from dangote. Wat a stupid entity nnpc is.

Atiku was right when he said nnpc should be sold off. Thank God I voted for him. The man would hv made sense as a president.

The opposition is just sitting idling and watching.

If there is anything I give the administration of T pain kudos for, it would be how he dismantled the opposition to the point that none can mount any effective resistance

Imagine if it was PDP was in power and APC was the opposition, imagine what would have been happening by now

This is why would would feel the music of T pain from now till 2031

We are in page 1 of 8!!!!!!

And some devils will have the guts to support Tinubu's vision publicly. How on earth will you increase the pump price to 1k and expect the poor man to survive? Worst is there is zero improvement in basic amenities .

IN 2012, we had a chance to remove fuel subsidy painlessly, and without issues, with the result that we would have attracted more investment in domestic refining, and more domestic fuel. PIA was already in discussion then

But Nigerians, said no. Tinubu and Buhari fanned the flames then...so GEJ brought back subsidy.

IN 2023, the result of saying no came in. There was no money for subsidy after June 2023 ending. Debt service was eating 90% of our revenue, if not more, and we were in deep soup. And we still needed to borrow more money to stay afloat.

So, subsidy went, and then was brought back after some money was saved, but it was too late.

We are suffering from not taking the right way in 2012, or even in 1993.

Anyway, at least APC Is now facing the fact that karma is a biatch.

This is madness 😠
What is the rationale for this increase when crude is being sold in naira and the refinery is right here with us?
NLC has failed
Helinues this is where you should have personal issue or are you not affected by fuel price?

Like Absolute madness!

Simple... To a stable and "non-subsidized" fuel sold at a minimum of 1300 per Liter!

Apc imbeciles will ask you whether "must you drive?"

They will have you know that in so and so nation, people live long and healthy cos they trek fairly long distances to school and work. lipsrsealed

This is a beautiful development. I love the fact that NNPCL is no longer the middle man . Let everyone buy directly from anywhere they want , that's the way to go. Do you all know what I see in this new development? Mark my words today , you see all those moribund refineries we have across the country would be forced to work now , so there won't be sabotage anymore. Do you know why ? Fuel prices in southwest are a bit lower than those from those in other regions due to the location of Dangote refinery, meaning prices of same items would differ with respect to their close proximity to the refinery. The disappointment from other Nigerians living far away from southwest where Dangote refinery is located , could trigger a revolution where new refineries could be set up or other moribund refineries adequately maintained without any sabotage happening again. The direct effect could birth competition which could bring down fuel prices at the long run, the way it happened with network providers some years back, then, Nigerians would smile again
