fastseo:Na so. Was gisting with my abroadian paddy yesterday, he sends stuff to naija and was telling how business de go. My own thought was business of how one can take stuff to UK and sell over there since he already has logistics background. The way forward in my view is to buy as the naira is cheap, take abroad and sell in hard currency. Goods coming from UK now is just too expensive for Nigerians even used goods. My guy said all the cars he has in his warehouse for sale, cheap cars, they are too expensive so he has to put them on hire purchase or use them for his car hire business. 2 Likes |

fastseo: Am sure you are less than a year abroad. That’s how it freaks you when you just arrive, but after like 5 years, you will understand the Oyinbos did not make their country for you to have enough to send home, but they only made it for you as a foreigner to work, pay bills and have little or nothing to safe. And if you try to beat the system by doing two 8hrs jobs daily, it will tell on your body sooner. If you’re scouting or sharing apartment with someone and you don’t pay much rent, no utility bills or car insurance, then lucky you. Safe as much as you can because once you start doing those stuff fully on your own, you’ll know whatz up. Abroad is abroad and Nigeria is Nigeria. Though, obviously abroad especially Western world are far better than Nigeria, but sometimes the way you guys garnish it make it looks like heaven in this world and main while they are not. Many are mislead before leaving Nigeria with sweet stories from people abroad but when they get there and see the reality on ground, they are shocked and it takes many of them years to adapt based on their expectations. 6 Likes |

diamond68:Yeah. Rent over there seems to be much, very much. True true I doubt security guard can afford in London, may be outside. Unless na shared apartment. Even to ride range, etc, possibly. But old models weh no go enter ulez. Abi can he afford 12.50 daily? Go gumtree, you will see range rover, benz of £1k, old bangers by UK standard but big boy by naija. 4 Likes |

More like 3k in naija which u can get same price in u.k if converted and tomorrow u guys will say u.k is expensive and that yen yen |
Re: Fishes I Bought In Today's Market :check Out The Prices by tunapawizzy: 9:17pm On Oct 09 |
Myrrhis:the boldened is not really accurate. Lets assume you spend 35k pounds (which u and I know is an exaggeration), the 2 years post grad period plus 1 year study period. At the end of that period, you have a higher degree that is competitive globally, u have a footing in a society that works where ur tax actually works for you, and if ur goal is just savings u have that too.........the whole idea about 1k rent is a choice. If someone that lived in Ikorodu and worked in Ikoyi was driving 1 to 2 hrs in heavy traffic to get to work in Lagos, suddenly gets to the UK and says he must live inside London, then that is a choice. Its even better if husband and wife dey run the race together 9 Likes |

fastseo:I know it's not easy but don't blame the system instead look for what the system needs and look for ways to meet the demand. There is still very high demand in health care. Secondly, we look down on some handiwork yet they pay more than cert eg mechanic work, driver especially taxi. The Nigerian pride will not allow us do taxi job or mechanic. What will I tell home people. I have interviewed these people and honestly, if I had a choice now, I will forget my cert and become a driver. What of rail driver. Do you know that they take home more than band 8 nurse in some units and how many years will it take one to reach band 8? You may never reach 7 not to talk of 8. Nursing is one of the least paid jobs in uk but readily available. Don't forget that blacks lose their pins for flimsy reasons more than any race every year. Most time when I come across new immigrants, I usually lecture and advice them cos when uou miss it, it will take time for you to navigate back again and start afresh. 5 Likes |

descarado: Even in Nigeria there are two types being sold in the market. One is smaller and cheaper. People keep calling it "fake". How can fish be fake bikonu? The person that called mackerel sufferhead doesn't deserve a response. It is nutritious and we should be worried at how expensive fish is becoming in Nigeria. 4 Likes 1 Share |
