When I apply for my PGWP I should eligible for 3 years of PGWP .So my Question is , Is it Possible for me to Renew my Passport now ? Will the high commission in Ottawa attend to me considering the fact that my Passport is still valid till 2027. Please has anyone being in this situation before ? Please I'll appreciate your feedback 🙏 Thank you Leaving Ontario soon for my second program so I just want to leverage on this opportunity to do it instead of me flying and coming back to Ontario and etc |

The new requirement are two for College Student: 1. Those that applied for study permit before November 1st 2024 and got approved will be eligible for PGWP for whatever course they graduated from if they passed the required English test CLB 2. Those that applied for study permit on or after November 1st 2024 and got approved to Study and complete their courses will only be eligible for PGWP if their study falls in the range of courses listed as long-term shortage and they also write the English CLB test. I think you fall under number 1 if you have applied for your study and it leads to your approval, consequent study, and completion of the program. YulPapparrazi: 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by SOPWriter: 8:06am On Oct 09 |
Hi Coda1, Please accept my warmest congratulations on your admission. Regarding the issues you raised, since you've paid your complete first-year tuition, the only POF you'll need for your Year-1 tuition is the deposit receipt and payment confirmation from your school. However, you'll need to demonstrate: 1. How you plan to repay the loan 2. How you'll cover living expenses in Canada. 3. Your plan for paying subsequent COA (if your program exceeds a year) In your SOP or LOE, consider addressing: 1. How you will cover living expenses in Canada. 2. Your loan repayment plan. 3. Other financial sources supporting your education if you're not self-funded 4. Clarify any discrepancies in your financial documents. I'll implore you to take out time planning your application, and I hope it goes in your favor. Coda1: 1 Like |

Hello guys, please how does this WES evaluation stuff work, Who can give me detailed steps on how to send my documents to WES for evaluation? PN: WES wants the documents directly from my school . |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by SOPWriter: 3:32pm On Oct 09 |
Hi Frank2zee, The World Education Services (WES) evaluation process could be overwhelming when you don't know your way around it. The truth is, the process itself is straightforward, but the back-and-forth between WES and Nigerian schools is what makes it a cumbersome experience for some students. I have broken the steps into a three-way operation to make it easier for you: On Your Part Step 1: Create an Account A. Visit (https://www.wes.org/) and create a profile. B. Fill out the forms, providing: I. Profile details II. Education history III. Recipient information Step 2: Choose Evaluation Type & Delivery Mode A. Select "Education" and then "Graduate Admission" as your evaluation type. B. Choose delivery options: I. Standard Delivery ($12) II. International Courier ($81) Step 3: Review & Confirm Application 1. Verify the accuracy of your inputs and selections. 2. Confirm your name and date of birth. 3. Agree to WES' Terms and Conditions. Step 4: Pay Evaluation Fees A. Select your evaluation option: I. Course-by-Course with ICAP ($225) - I often recommend this option for those applying to multiple schools. II. WES Basic ($176) After payment, proceed to "My Account" and upload: A. Academic transcripts (Official or Unofficial) B. Degree certificates (Official or Unofficial) C. Translations (if applicable) D. Supporting documents (if applicable) On Your Alma Mater's Part - This is where the issue always lies - unwarranted delays, extortions, inconsistent grades, you name it. But I hope you don't go through such a hurdle. Step 5: Your school should send: 1. Your official academic transcripts directly. 2. A copy of your degree certificates and translations (if applicable). 3. Enclose everything in a single sealed and stamped brown envelope before it's dispatched to WES. (They can also send your documents electronically if they have an existing digital transmission agreement with WES.) On WES' Part Step 6: WES Review & Verification 1. Document review and verification. 2. They might request for additional documents or confirmation (if necessary). Step 7: Evaluation Reports 1. WES sends the report to your mailing address and that of your proposed institutions. Key Notes Timeline: Depends on the complexity of the overall evaluation process, but it typically takes 6-12 weeks. Your total fees would depend on your choice of evaluation and delivery. I hope this helps, and best of luck with your assessment. frank2zee: 2 Likes |

Hello Guys, please I need suggestions on how to resolve my issues regarding WES verification. WES sent an email to my school to verify my result but the registrar said there was no attachment to the email and he cannot verify anything. I have contacted WES but they haven’t responded. Please if anyone here has had a similar experience, kindly give me opinions on how to resolve this. Thanks |

Please I want more clarification: 1. Should I use MY OWN Gckey or I should open their own? The reason I'm asking is that I have applied for study extension under my own and I have not gotten answer for over 1month now. Is that not too slow? I heard that there is a new link apart from gckey and I think that oneay be faster. What do you think 2. Should the purpose of my husband vv be my graduation in November(my first program)? If I write graduation and VO did not open d application on time and graduation don pass, is dt not a reason to deny d application? bullstriker: |

Bowluwahtifeh:Your are on maintained status ,it is not even a wise decision to make application for a family member at the moment..on maintained status there is no duration of stay given, until a decision is made on application..and with what is left on study permit.. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Bowluwahtifeh: 4:44am On Oct 10 |
So, what do you advice that I do? 1. Wait for study extension to be granted? What if it takes more than expected time? 2. Apply for my family with a different Gckey or using https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en(someone shared this link that it's faster than Gckey) 3. Are U saying I can't even invite my husband for my graduation in November? I need gurus to give me their input o. That's y I came to nairaland Predator188: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by affoncad: 6:22am On Oct 10 |
Bowluwahtifeh: 1)The current processing time for a study permit extension is 4 months. While your application is under processing, you can continue to study. 2)Applying with an old or new GCKey makes no difference. 3)As explained earlier, while on maintained status, it is not advisable to make an application for a family member. You should have made this application earlier, knowing the processing time for a visitor visa is 6 months. Applying now for a graduation next month is nearly impossible because IRCC does not have an expedite rule, only provisions for emergencies, and a graduation ceremony is not considered an emergency. Please note that most student family visits are granted based on the duration of the student visa, which in your case is absent because your visa extention is still under processing! |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by SOPWriter: 8:28am On Oct 10 |
Hi YulPapparrazi, Study permit applications are generally processed based on merit, complexity, and the processing timeline at the time of submission. Therefore, prioritization of fresh or returning applications over one another is rarely evident with IRCC. Each application has its own merits. So, proceed with your submission while staying updated on the current turnaround time. In the event that a decision is not reached within the stipulated period, you can contact them via webform. Cheers to your coming approval! 🥂 YulPapparrazi: |

Hi gurus in the house, I’ve been a silent reader for a while and this platform has been a lifesaver…please I need some answers to some questions… 1. What does it mean when IRCC requested for your updated LOA(letter of acceptance) and passed your medicals on the same day? 2. Does IRCC send an acknowledgment to you when you’ve submitted the LOA as requested on the portal and how long does it take to be acknowledged? Thanks and I’m looking forward to hearing from you guys 2 Likes 1 Share |

Good morning to you all. Please, I need your advice. I have just been accepted for a diploma course at a Canadian college. They asked me to pay an acceptance fee of $3000 but I'm already thinking ahead about visa application, medicals etc. I wanted to confirm the following: 1. Does anyone know if Canada requires students to pay all fees before resuming studies or before submitting visa application? 2. Medicals, what is the current range of fees required per person? I have a little girl who is autistic and I'm worried if this might be a problem with the visa application. 3. How much is required for the proof of funds? 4. Is Canada currently issuing visas for students and spouses? I'm sorry for the multiple questions but I hope the gurus in the house can help me with good advice to make an informed decision. Many thanks |
