This should be the norm except that our people don’t like accountability.

Yes, it should be norm in a normal society where the government takes good care of it's citizen. Does Nigeria look normal to you?

A miserable mistake

If Tinubu is reelected in 2027 the next president will take us for a ride but if we show this Zaccheus wannabe the way out in 2027, the next president will believe indeed that power rest in the hands of the people

These measures are coming from people who want to destroy Nigeria and make it look like Somalia and Eritrea. The puppet is being controlled by the West through the IMF and World Bank. They have something on him, so they've caged and manipulated him into submission otherwise, they would let the cat out of the bag. We are in real trouble, and there's still a long way to go. The bridge is too far, so everyone should brace themselves.
Let's blame the west as usual.

What's the essence of stamp duty charges?

When we make a transfer, government tax us as well

When you make a phone call, we pay tax

When we buy groceries in the supermarket we pay tax

On everything we buy, we definitely pay tax

So which tax again are we talking about here?

Multiple taxation here & there

Irresponsible people in leadership positions.
Anyways it's the responsibility of the legislative to speak against it.
The minimum wage the FG proposed has not even hit the account of civil servants but they have increased price of PMS multiple times. A government who threatened NLC that they should agree to #70k minimum or otherwise see an increase in price of fuel. Not only have the price of fuel increase but every good and commodity has increased.
Even with the completion of an indigenous refinery is still selling PMS like it's an imported product.
I wonder how long will Nigerians remain undivided and disunited before these hooliganism practiced by politicians is put away.

A mindless, souless, robotic supporter of a clueless, rice-favouring, corrupt and inept government. The yes-man of every crap dished out by his masters. If Tinubu should give his urine to his followers to drink you will be the first in line with two large cups and a grin extending the boundary of your face.

T- pain on the beat, but with manner this T-pain's administration is speedily extorting Nigerians, i wonder how many Nigerians can survive all these onslaughts ?
anyway banking is not by force, this policy can only stifle the banking industry, as many Nigerians will be discouraged of using the services of the banks.
T- pain is famous for always collecting from the masses, without giving back to the masses, except during the elections when he will share some miserable palliatives to the masses and huge palliatives to his political cronies.
Nigerians are in for a rough long ride with a very reckless driving driver.
May God help good Nigerians.

how is it supposed to be the norm ?
Even the UK that is notorious for taxing you to your jugular will not propose such a draconian policy

Nigeria has a huge shadow economy
how will you drive financial inclusion with this kind of policy ?

What’s draconian about attaching tax identification to bank transactions? It’s that same shadow economy that’s responsible for the corruption and insecurity we’ve been crying about. Remove the shadow and bank the unbanked; it’s improves security too.

Let’s embrace transparency; we know for a fact no business with revenue less than N25m will get taxed. Or what do you have to hide?

One last thing the CBN needs to ban all cash dollar transactions within the country. Everything must go through the bank!!!

There is no bank elsewhere in developed countries where you need a taxnumber to open a bank account.

No problem about taxation

My question is where will the unemployed , underemployed , get money for the taxation

People pay taxes from the dividends and magnanimity of government

Do we have unemployment benefits , old age benefit , availability of low interest loans for our enterprise, well these ones are far

Are we even safe and secured

Someone should lead of to freedom, we are under cruelty and servitude

Don't be silly. You shouldn't need a tax ID to operate a bank account as not everyone operating a bank account has a taxable income. Na companies and small businesses dey require such.

You should ask PayPal for starters—except you’re saying KYC is a Nigerian thing.

Fair point but tracking or recording a transaction is not same as taxing the customer or is it?
