Bottom line is it's not needed. Normally, if our systems were properly integrated, we don't need anything more than BVN. It has all our biological info and what not. The BVN is more than sufficient to track, record and even provide further oversight on whatever bank account or transaction. The tax ID is more often for the company or business and not even the person that owns the business because with the person's SSN, all shits (good or bad) are availabe and that includes taxes paid... The Tax ID makes the business an entity and eligible to pay tax as the business isn't a human that can be issued an ssn

Yes I have, but all they require is your Social Security number for personal accounts, and not a Tax ID.

They also delineate between receipt of money from family/friends and sales, since some people use their account for business.

The BVN is not a government asset; rather, the NIN and TIN are. If you are a poor person this is not something to worry about but if your transactions flows exceeds 25M then you have been ripping the government off the needed taxes but not anymore
