That’s why you should have a business bank account.
Many Nigerians use savings accounts for business transactions. Shouldn't everyone with an income have a tax ID?

Tinubu has always been an anti masses person. Even when he was governor of Lagos

And that is why he was the richest politician in Africa, even before he became the president.

And now, perhaps, he is trying to become the richest politician in the world at the expense all the people.

This should be the norm except that our people don’t like accountability.

Norm for where? In most sane climes it's your social security number that is required, at most, for financial transactions. Not tax ID. You guys should stop supporting madness and wickedness sad

The BVN is not a government asset; rather, the NIN and TIN are. If you are a poor person this is not something to worry about but if your transactions flows exceeds 25M then you have been ripping the government off the needed taxes but not anymore smiley

SMH.. It's not a government asset but it was introduced and currently managed by CBN. Is the CBN a private enterprise my bro? The BVN was the CBN's directive on behalf of the government to introduce new KYC features to safe guard customers and track transactions.

Like i said bro, please stop. It's becoming embarrasing.

You don't want to pay tax?

Nigerians hate paying tax or any other dues but want to enjoy things free. That's not saying our leaders have been good though

There is no country in the world, where majority of the people love to pay tax. There's none, and that includes places like America where developments are visible even to the blind.

The main question is what exactly do you want to tax? And what have you done with those you have collected?

The total internally generated revenue of Kebbi, Taraba and Yobe States put together amounts to N30 billion. A single individual in Kogi stole N110 billion according to the EFCC. Do with this information whatever you want.

Accountability to people who can't Account for the funds they generated from both solid mineral to loan received to import duties to a whole lot.
Guy if you think taxing Nigerians, now is the problem here, you need to think again.

You are saying nonsense despite your educational level this is obtainable in civilize society.
Zombieoppressor:
Baba is replicating what he did in Lagos . He is the miracle worker and magician who will make Nigeria great again by impoverishing the masses.

You see, even those who bet online pay tax...sportybet,bet9ja deduct certain amount which you guys aren't aware from your winnings. Also, mobile operators deduct tax from all your recharges and remit to the govt. If you borrow credit also from them, they remove tax. Now,all goods being purchased are tax already, infact, the water you drink is taxed.

Enacting another law for taxation is not only wicked, but also inhuman because these people who are being doubled taxed are not even paid the minimum standard wage applicable to other countries where taxation is held in high standard.

How can you only think of taking from a people without thinking of it's consequences? You have refused to improve their lives ,refused to provide them with the needed facilities to stimulate growth. When was the last time employment were conducted into agencies and parastatals? Na backdoor employment plenty pass, shame!

To even eat a square meal now is war in Nigeria and you are thinking of taxing them so they won't even have a meal to eat again. What wickedness!

We will close all our accts. Only foreign accts or virtual accts will be operated.

The article said NEW ACCOUNT.

I believe Tax ID would easily be generated for already existing account.

BVN and NIN are ok for personal accounts. Tax ID for business accounts. Moreover we already pay stamp duties, VAT etc. etc. The petty petty income coming to personal account should not be a source of concern to the government.

As you may have noticed, I don't engage in insults. Just to clarify, the BVN and NIBSS—(essential for enabling instant transfers)—are not government assets.

I believe that the National Identification Number (NIN) should align with the Tax Identification Number (TIN). I've stated multiple times that the government is not targeting the impoverished, unless your definition includes anyone earning over N25 million in a country where individuals with an annual income of N1.2 million are still subject to taxation.

I believe personal income should not be taxed, as we already pay taxes as VAT on everything. It amounts to double taxation.

And? How does affect what I wrote? SSN is not just for citizens, Immigrants (new residents ) can also apply for it. So been issued at birth is not relevant to our discussion.
