The reforms Ruto to set to undertake are all now completed - I mean the legal framework is pretty much done - and so are bearing fruits already.

Ruto sat down with 3000 expert before elections and developed a PLAN - manifesto - that identified realistic winnable things - we dropped usual manufacturing, bla bla - settle down on fix macro-economic (debt crisis), agriculture, housing, healthcare, helping SMES and finally labour export.

1) Macro-economics - Brink of bankruptcy, inflation at double digit (10%), interest rate (base) at 17%, KES rose to 160 to a dollar - now almost all these been sorted - debt repaid (eurobond), interest rate down to 12%, inflation is 3.6%!!!, KES dropped to 127 - forex is growing.
2)Agriculture - we were importing lots of food from the region and food was becoming expensive - Ruto set up fertilizer subsidiy baked by electronic voucher - we saw maize prod (important staple) move from 30M bags to 47M bags - last year - Ruto had 5m farmers - now its 7.5M farmers - maize and food inflation is already bottom. Maize a bag was 7000kshs - now even 1500KES - and maize is important staple in East and Southern Africa.
Things like sugar - we are for 1st having surplus - and import.
Oil crops - we are seeing light at end of tunnel - we import almost 3B.
3) Helping SMES - we have Hustler Fund on commutters.
4) Improving revenues - we seen huge jump from 2 trillion to almost 3 trillion (all revenues) - with e-citizen gov online services from 350 such services to now almost 15,000 gov services - almost every gov service is now availanble online. E-citizen revenue jumped from 20B kes to 120B.
5) Housing Levy - Building 1M houses and eliminating slums. On course. Legal framework and court battled finished. Kenyans now contribute 2.75% of their income for housing levy.
6) Healthcare - this final - we had NHIF we have tried to reform to be Social Health Insurance. NHIF had 7M kenyans - with 3M in formal employment - and 4m in non formal employment. This in country with 20-25M adults. There was financing gap of 150B kes - that people pay out pocket. There is a lot of fundraising for healthcare by families, selling of assets and poverty around sickness.

Now finally got Social Health Insurance with UNIVERSAL health coverage - that mean EVERYONE In KENYA will have health insurance - 1st week we have 12.5M kenyas. By 2nd of the year that number with 25M.

7) Infrastracture - to avoid debt financing - Ruto plan is to use PPP - this where Adanis and others come in - we will soon get Mombasa to Malaba - 1,000 kms of expressway - we will also complete SGR from Naivasha to Malaba - 500Kms - those two are BIG Infrastracture ticket - that dwarf anything done by previous regime.

cool LABOUR export - we are seeing 20% remittance growth - I think we have now overtaken Ghana to become 2nd to Nigeria in remittance in SSA. We are exporting 1,000 kenyans every week and number should peak to 3,000 - we are signing labour agreement - and have made it policy to export as many kenyans as possible.

We are not going to theories like manufacturing, reduce corruptions, bla bla. This PLAN is well thought out exercise that went through all those kind of usual stuff and settled on those areas.

Finally there is minimal corruption in kenya because the country has been broke and almost bankrupt - with little development project - you cannot steal recurrent budget - salaries - and debt repyament.

Why are middle class in kenya ANGRY - simple PAINFUL reforms that mean raiding their pockets in revenues growth, taxes, 2.75% in housing levy, 2.75% in health insurance and eventually they said ENOUGH.

I think going forward we wont have much tax raises - on the little middle class (salaried formally employed are 3m) - but will now focus on 16M informal sector who dont pay taxes.

So expect more revenue growth from informal sector - and the potential here is HUGE - we have almost 2 million kenya business accepting mobile payment - only 200K are paying taxes.

People are losing their lives daily with the SHA tenderpreneur nonsense that is only meant to steal poor people's money. I wonder which rock you live under RIP. This is a horrible time to be an elderly person coz you will surely die with dialysis and such costly treatments that people were affording before with NHIF

rvp2018:
Ruto has no role in fighting corruption. Ruto let the institutions fighting corruption fight corruption. There is little corruption in kenya now because Kenya gov has been so broke - it barely paying it debt (1.8 trillion), salaries(1 trillion) and little recurrent expenditure. Total revenues collected are 2.8 trillion and the debt we have procured is for debt financing (repaying the principal). There is NOTHING to be stolen when you dont see infrastracture or capital projects. Ruto cannot steal salaries or debt repayment - maybe steal toilet papers and reccurent expenditure supplies.

Adani is richest man in Asia and 11st richest man in world. He is a prized investor. The process of PPP in both JKIA and with Ketraco are at infancy - and you idle morons - should let KAA and KETRACO negotiate with Adani - and eventually public participation and approval will be done - if we have good deal.

If you thought the 104B SHIF tender was shocking wait till you hear that Jayesh and Adil Khawaja through their companies Minet, MAKL and Pioneer have illegally allocated themselves 150B from Teachers Service Commission alone. Yet teachers continue to suffer and paying out of pocket medical bills. Adani is a thief not an investor. Ruto can give him the contract illegally and wait to be hanged later when we hang him and his entire family. We know he already received the kickbacks with akina Murkomeno. Your fake PR stunts wont matter.

SHA has teething issues. Everything that start has teething problem. Even Obama care had huge website problems - I remember Obama spend 1 billion USD to build the site and it didnt work for first few weeks.

SHIF was first attempted in 2003 by Kibaki - with Ngilu - and then Prof Nyongo - it didnt fly - Uhuru tried - it didnt fly,

Ruto has suceeded.

Teething problem due to Software Issues are expected.

And will be sorted out - and we will have everyone in kenya having NHIF like services. THINK BIG PICTURE.

You write nonsense without fact checking.
1) We have 5B tender that was given for SHIF rollout. This current software being rollout in all hospital. The current software was trialed in Isiolo hospital - failed - SHIF rolled out was pushed to 3 months - now it been rolled out nationally - and still has issues. As software engineer myself - that I think kinda normal for such huge system.

2) 104B - 10yr contract deal - is PHASE 2. NOT YET STARTED.

3) 105B TSC health care - stop smoking too much weed! Total annual salaries for teachers is something like 300B. How will TSC get 150B for health insurance.

You slowpoke consume the worst kind of propaganda and bring it to international forum.

SHA is just plain old tenderpreneurship. Why didnt he simply fix NHIF that has been in existence for decades? Ruto saw the looting ceiling has come down after people refused to pay taxes thats why he is looking for such useless ventures like SHA to the tune of billions and Adani as stealing avenues. Stop thinking small. Thats why all investors in SHA are Indians, just like Moi so that he can steal with them. A defining character of your people is the use of Indians to loot public money. That is imprinted in your collective DNA. When all this is done and dusted, Ruto will be the first president to be jailed. Mark my words.

SHIF and SHA are scams. End of arguments. Im tired of arguing with Ruto minions who can barely explain the simplest of things. 104 B was stolen in the last ten yrs by the people Ruto is now putting at the center of SHA and healthcare, the Jayesh Indians.

You have very LOW IQ.
Kenya should have been on SHIF long time ago - way back in 2003.
The NHIF model is totally messed up.
SHIF is universal health insurance - it not NHIF that at best had 7M contributors.
Totally different concept.

SHIF will heavily relie on TECHNOLOGY - and we are going to invest that 105B KES - because we want TECHNOLOGY - to save us from corruption.

NHIF failed because of lack of such technology.

Ruto is investing heavily in technology - because that SUREST way to fight corruption, ineffieciency and wastage.

Fertilizer subsidy is via e-voucher.
Hustler fund is online algorithm run.
SHIF is tech run
Ecitizen is now 20,000 services on steroids.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Ruto is investing with KNOWN Indian thieves, just like you have admitted, and you are telling us he is using technology to stop corruption. When the same thieves are the ones in charge of the technology.

You're heckling. Adani might be a thief but he is richest man in Asia and 11st richest in the world. Ruto would be happy to bring him to kenya. If you have more thieves like Adani - please send it our way.

A thief who has 15 airports in India, 20 ports, half the entire electricity network, etc.

Bring us that Adani thief. We have so many aiports, port, electricity network to be STOLEN. They are mostly decrepit if not run down.

What is there to STEAL? In that JKIA held together by straps? Or in non-existent high voltage network lines.

African and stupidity - ohoo Indian Adani. He will still be richest man in Asia and top in the world. What is Africa and or kenya to Adani

I was referring to Jayesh Saini whom you just accepted has been the main thief in the healthcare sector. He is now the main mover in the SHA scam and Ruto, with his puny Mobutu syndrome, is glad to work with. Adani is not a thief but a scammer. There is a difference, RIP.

You're a big fool.
SHIF will have 20,000 hospitals.
They will bill SHIF - this where technology comes in.
And if Jayesh has shares in 20,000 hospitals - then he truly own kenya.
Last I checked he only owned Nairobi West hospital.

Then nonsense about JKIA
JKIA burnt down
Chinese came and put facade on top of a burnt down airport
Now it leaking and it a mess.
Ethiopia and Rwanda are putting up 3B dollars airport each.

We want to cry about airport terminal that burnt down long time ago?

KQ is finally emerging from mess and will need an airport.

Kenya is too broke to get 3B to build an airport - PPP is only way out

Rwanda gave it to Qatar. We give to Adani - excellent.

Both are neccessary.
The pain is because the wound was left to fester for long.

Tinubu hopefully see through the reforms.

You cant respond on any of the issues I put - except with generalities.

There is no fuel subsidy under Ruto.

There is fuel stabilization once in a while - and Fuel Stabilization Fudy is deducted from same Fuel when price are down - and saved.

Treasury or Taxes are not used to subsdizie fuel.

You and Ruto would rather lie there is no fuel subsidy to save face than accept he reinstated it but everyone knows its there.

If you are lying so openly about fuel subsidies why would anyone waste time with a liar? Clean your lying character first

@Obaaderemi you can see why arguing with such people is pointless. Its like arguing with a log of wood. Every response is countered with a lie.

Back in the 90s it was usual for the only people to be moneyed in Kenya to be Indians. That was because Moi, in a span of a decade and a half, had taken the entire economy from black Kenyans to disempower them and make them controllable at the height of the clamour for multiparty democracy. He had given everything to Indians and all govt corruption was managed and masterminded by Indians. They were immensely rich up until 2003 when we kicked Moi and his entire cabal out of power. Black people began to rise again after that. Ruto is now smack in the middle of impoverishing Black Kenyans and giving Indians a free run at the economy through bloated tenders and open theft. Kenyans are closing down businesses at an alarming rate. This is a business in Nairobi CBD. Look at what the owner wrote after closing down. This is the case everywhere in the country. Businesses closing down and Ruto promising to export young Kenyans to the middle east as slaves to be left with his Indians. Btw, the word Umbwa is Swahili for Dog.

So you think the fuel prices came down magically? People protested and Ruto reinstated them. Thats why I waste no time arguing with know-nothing liars who live a lie with an open face like you. You are morally bankrupt, as always with the likes of Sudi and Farouk.

Wow. Clearly Kenya is still paying fuel subsidies through the backdoor.

This is crazy shit! Even with subsidy you are paying $1.35 for a litre of petrol. That's approximately #2000 naira in Nigeria. We pay 1050 naira for a litre here and its effects are debilitating

There is no fuel subsidy in Kenya under Ruto.

There is fuel stabilization fund....to smoothen price changes

https://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/tea/business-tech/imf-backs-president-ruto-fuel-price-stabilization-plan-4339556

We pay about 5.4 KES to Fuel Stabilization Fund when we buy fuel

If Fuel prizes rose sharply - in a month - GOV utilize that money - to smooth out the changes

Understand difference btw Fuel Stabilization and Fuel Subsidy.

Before people hit the streets the prices were crazy hitting as high as 2600 Naira/L. Economic activity was quickly grinding to a halt. You have to keep in mind that we import all our oil so high prices are expected but Ruto had broken all records.

Indians didnt rise in 90s.
They were rose in 1970s when expelled/restricted from DUkawallas - retail and wholesale - 1967 Africanisation - they went into manufacturing
They made huge fortunes in 70s/80s/90s - from manufacturing
And of course some joined public procurement and contracting.
Now they have been replaced by Chinese
And of course Somalis.

There is no difference. People like you who cannot think independently believe everything the government says. The basic fact is the govt is cushioning the oil prices which is the definition of subsidy. The govt was just trying to save face because accepting fuel subsidies would paint Ruto in bad light after all the bravado. You really think we are all low IQ Sudis and Farouks. That article explains everything clearly. You shot yourself in the foot.

Tell that to the dogs. The Indians who are into manufacturing are well known and are very few. The Indians that Moi used to loot public resources are the ones I am talking about. The Kamlesh Patttnis and the Kettan Somaia's. These are people who were looting as much as half the economy and helping Moi stash the money overseas in the Cayman Islands like Ruto is doing now with Adani and Jayesh. The problem, and I think I told you this before, is that Kalenjin presidents suffer from an inferiority complex. They resort to sabotaging their fellow black Kenyans and giving all money and power to Indians lately they are also being used by Somalis. Very strange character but we will fix it once and for all. And this time we will jail them.

Fyi, this Jayesh Saini Indian whom Ruto has given the entire healthcare in the country to run with the SHA and SHIF nonsense is responsible for unimaginable theft and outright killingg of innocent Kenyan. Over the last ten years more than 10,000. Teachers have lost their lives due to prolonged procedures aimed at frustrating them, prolonged authorizations for critical treatment and frustrations of cover access. Jayesh makes a return profit of over 50% of premiums. Teachers life cover worth Sh 1.4Bn is handled by Pioneer Insurance owned by Jayesh and Adil claims are not paid to beneficiaries.
The consortium of insurance companies to whom the TSC tender was awarded have never received premiums which are instead illegally passed on to Jayesh’s MAKL outfit. Ruto only works with thieves so long as he is promised a cut of the theft. And he likes to steal with Indians like Moi.
