Its been 2 week since my visa was issused, i dont have any email and i when i check the OIS document deliery it says it is not yet ready. I checked https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx and it says "ISSUED". Case Last Updated: 30-Sep-2024 I initially choose Port Harcourt for delivery but I went there and they are not yet ready for pickup. i have updated my AVITS document delivery to Lagos since i am planning a trip next week. i have also created an AVITS ticket. I am thinking about sending an email to the Abuja Embassy where i had my interview. Is anyone else in the same boat? Any tips? |

Please guys, I wish to invite my mum for my commencement. She’s never been to the US before. And I heard the application process has changed a bit, especially the websites and payment mode. Please, can someone help me summarize the process I should follow to get this done. Thanks 1 Like 1 Share |

You don't have to apply on Avits anymore, so long as you have dropped off the documents at OIS, it's same instruction others have been receiving, to just book appointment with OIS and drop off. Bsihdjn: |

Mjolnir: You can dhl your documents to a close friend/family in the city and have them drop off and pick up for you. That's what I had to do at the end. The screenshot shows the steps for someone picking up for you. https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/page?country=NG&apiPageName=documentDelivery&locale=en 1 Like

chloride6: Your passport is either in OIS Lagos or Abuja, depending on where you dropped off. Port harcourt is not available on OIS site yet. Try and get someone to go check for you. Avits delivery location is not used. I selected PH on avits also, but my passport was sent to OIS Abuja. If you have OIS number, you can call them too. |

Hello. Please I need your advice on a way out. I made payment for Visa appointment at Firstbank on the 7th of this month.Been waiting for the portal to update with my payment up till now, I’ve created ticket to complain but no response. Apparently the teller who I paid to made a mistake when inputting the reference number. When she should have put 1 , she put the letter I. She claims she corrected it, but nothing has happened on my account. Please I need help on what other solution to get an appointment booked asap. Thanks |

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by GoldenTAutos: 11:13am On Oct 12 |
I secured a visa interview date of Oct 23rd (after the new site was launched). It was Aug 28, 2025 before on the old site but got the Oct 23rd after new site. Now I see that the Aug 28 is back on my profile but I have the appointment letter for Oct 23rd and never received an email of interview date change. Please any advice on what could be going on and if going to the Embassy with the appointment letter for Oct 23rd is not going to be a waste of journey. It's the Abuja location. |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by ultraken: 7:01pm On Oct 12 |
WTH?! Why did my visa appointment get reverted back to 2025 when I rescheduled to October 2024? Even the new appointment I paid for in November 2024 just got canceled and I don't see a refund on my credit card. I'm still going to the appointment on October 2024, what are these people doing?! 1 Like |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by ultraken: 7:07pm On Oct 12 |
GoldenTAutos: I just noticed the same thing, I've sent a ticket asking them what's going on. I had the October appointment and one in November, the November appointment was just canceled, no refund. I'm guessing they're working on the site and they reverted back to a previous version, let's hope they revert back to the current version again, because this is ridiculous. Like is it a secondary school student that's managing the website, how can they be incompetent enough to let their users see this. 3 Likes |

Hello Guys, Please gurus in the house.. I have an upcoming interview b1/b2, and I am trying to retrieve my ds160, but when i enter the application ID it says no records found. I updated it once. The current ID returns with no records found on ceac , so I entered the application ID for the form i filled initially, but that one is saying the security information is wrong even though I am sure it isn't. Please help!! what could be the issue. I am so confused because I never printed it out and I thought I saved it but I cant seem to find it. What do I do? I'm panicking By the way, I filled the form over a year ago, they kept rescheduling my interview date since 2022. Please I would appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Femeto: 8:29pm On Oct 12 |
GoldenTAutos:You can go if you want. But you wouldn’t be interviewed. Happened to about 100 of us scheduled for yesterday in Lagos. Most of us rescheduled to yesterday but apparently the date had changed since on Tuesday. I saw mine Thursday night but everyone I told said it was a glitch, got to the embassy and waited for 6 hours for them to check their system and find a solution but still didn’t get interviewed. It was really a mess as some people started causing trouble. Some of their officers were accusing people of printing out fake appointments given to them by agents. In the end a consular official addressed us and said we should go that they would investigate and get back to us. I think this AVITS system is really not working well or has been compromised. |

Do you all advise that we that have a problem booking an application go to the consulate office? Mine is one month already and it is yet to be resolved and from the comment I see here I see that people go there especially with this Avit system. Please if you have this issue and you have managed to resolve it, can you please share with us ? If you still have this problem pls lets come together It is getting out of hand, |

Femeto: This is sad to hear. Please kindly confirm if you were ever on the old site and then rescheduled when you joined the new site or if this was a fresh application on the new site. Thanks |

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Femeto: 9:49pm On Oct 12 |
yoyome20:I was on the old site too. I reschedule on the new site. It reverted to the date on the old site. In fact there was a man who had booked for he and his wife 2025 and 2026 date on the old system but was able to reschedule to yesterday after signing up on the new system. His appointments have suddenly gone back to the old dates too. He promised to seek redress cos they have wasted his time yesterday. |

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by yoyome20: 5:06am On Oct 13 |
dexydidi: Good morning. I do not have the link to the old website. I only asked so I can confirm if this is happening to people who migrated from the old website and were able to reschedule to a recent date on the new site. Whatever the case might be, it is sad to hear what people are going through just to get an interview date and finally get interviewed. I truly hope this is resolved as soon as possible. |

Kindly advise on how l will book appointment on the AVITS website as the pickup and calendar features are not showing on my dashboard. Thank you. You will have to select location, Lagos or Abuja, you will have to continue clicking on the next month till you find a date available, sometimes no date is available but you have to keep checking you might be lucky to see a closer date but i think dates are more available in Abuja than Lagos. |
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Milito: 12:45pm On Oct 13 |
Ambition08: You may have to wait for 24hours for your payment to be updated before you'll be able to schedule appoinment except if you paid by card. If you follow earlier discussions, you must have noticed that majority of Naija cards are not yet able to successfully pay on the platform.
