CrystalTiger: This country's problem just defies logic. A small state like Bayelsa with so much water bodies can easily generate electricity through investment in hydropower plants. Instead everybody just mount on top national grid. When I was in the north, I kept asking why can't northern governors invest in solar energy on a large scale considering the kind of sun that shines in that part of the country? By 7-7.30 pm u will see the sun still in the sky. As much as FG's ministry of power has its own fault, some of these governors of states need to start doing something at their own respective state levels if the country will ever develop beyond the level it is currently 6 Likes |

BlueRayDick: Na now you just dey talk. I know bulk of the problems we are facing in this country is from the FG but the governors themselves have not cover themselves in any glory. These people are worse off than the president himself. 3 Likes |

popizaino: It's actually a shame because most governors are highly educated people ranging from PhD holders, trained professionals like doctors, engineers, business managers, ex-bankers, professors, etc. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 12:54pm On Oct 25 |
CrystalTiger: I think the people of the state are just too docile; they just accept every nonsense their governors have been doing. And funny enough, if they had not carved them out of Rivers state, they would've been crying marginalization today o. 4 Likes |

Amigoss: They should demand for more accountability from their leaders now. How can their state be in that kind of mess despite collecting 13% Derivation as an oil producing state and they are okay with that? 1 Like |

GloriousGbola: The funny thing is the staff of this moribund PH refinery will most likely get TAM allowance despite the TAM being unsuccessful (It is standard for players in the oil & gas space to pay TAM allowance to staff after completion of each TAM) Yar Adua and NLC did us strong thing by reversing sale of this refinery back then sha, 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: How much is the 13% lol. Money that ordinary counties in the US spend more than. They should allow ND states 100% control of their resources first before we talk. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 1:54pm On Oct 25 |
TemporaryHansel: You obviously don't have an idea of Nigerian constitution. By law, the federal government owns everything under the ground so all those talks about ND states controlling 100% of their resources is dead on arrival. The question is : The 13% that is being shared to the ND states, what have the governors been doing with it? Can they show us anything tangible they have been doing with it? Even some states not getting 13% derivation are doing better than states who do. It is a shame. 5 Likes |

BlueRayDick: Burna has never been against using police. Police is just a tool of oppression for the wealthy in Nigeria, and he was very clear on his stance when Mr 2Kay called police on him. In Nigeria, calling police isn't snitching, it's showing levels Oluwa Burna, mọ gbóná feli, say mọ gbóná feli You no get money, you dey call police Me I dey laugh you gan ni . |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m): 6:55pm On Oct 25 |
BlueRayDick:I've always stated for years that Niger-Delta has no business depending on the federal government. Yes, for policies and all of that. But our local economies and infrastructure should reflect the humongous amounts we get. Akpabio and Amaechi alone got $2.4 billion combined from the FAAC in 2013 alone as Governors of Akwa Ibom and Rivers. What's the excuse? ---- Demand accountability from who? Bayelsa State which celebrates strong man politics? Where the most violent persons have the highest chances of being elected? Isn't it on this thread where people celebrate strong man politics even in the state Bayelsa split from? A state where the Governor, Chief of Staff, and others in the corridors of power openly make cult signs, adorn cult paraphernalia, and threaten violence? A state where you must align with the seeming dominant cult group in the state to even have a voice? Where the state government lacks the willpower to condemn and ban cultism? Where it can't make a law outrightly scapegoating government officials known to be aligning with cult groups? A state where the top five picks or contestants for elective positions are known violent cultists? You want to lose your head? Who do you want to demand accountability from? But when we put these issues on the table to be debated so our states and regions and Nigeria by extension can progress, some sîmpletons who are themselves invested in these systems of violent non-accountability would rather try to deflect by making slinging tribal shots while the issue festers. Bayelsa, like Rivers, has a culture of violence and gangs. I've stated this a thousand times but we'd rather play the whataboutism game to deflect like a bipolar girl in a relationship trying to gaslight. You can't demand accountability from gangs. You dare not else you'd be on Labé Orun with your dismembered body filmed for the fleeting thrill of those who like gore. 11 Likes 4 Shares |

......one mumu Governor would rather spend on Oloshos at Lagos Clubs than implementing new minimum wage like others are doing. In our own magnanimity as a state government, we have decided to adopt the minimum wage of N80,000 (Eighty Thousand Naira). |
