Implication Of Court Stopping Rivers Allocation by ubest1(m): 1:14pm On Oct 30 |
This my eighteen years residing in PHC, a topical Rivers man believes they are the only state feeding Nigeria through oil and gas. Immediately one or two months the gov is unable to pay salaries and pension through local generated revenue and hint public the reasons is due to FG stoppage of allocation, next actions won't favour any Nigerian. 85% of the oil wells in Rivers state located in Riverine area where SIM is from, the Ijaw militants will likely fight back in two front bombing pipelines and kidnapping For those comparing Lagos incident during OBJ/PBAT to Rivers are wrong, economically Nigeria as a nation depends on Rivers than Lagos. Direct implication if things are not sorted out amicably, Dangote refinery won't get crude from Niger-Delta which may likely shoot up fuel price to 2k per liter. Also our crude export will drop and worsen already hunger situation, many people both civilian and soldiers will die fighting. Finally, for those saying Gov SIM will learn, should understand Rivers people, taxation will likely step us which will affect everybody, the gov will still work but on a low key but can Nigeria survive it? 15 Likes |

ubest1:Lmaooo no court can stop allocation to a state... The judgement would be appealed and I'm sure there would be a stay of Exercusion There is absolutely no basis for that judgement... The case about the house members are still in court so to base the judgement on that is weird I would be surprised if the judge is not investigated 28 Likes 2 Shares |

When some of us say Nigeria will self-destruct and disintegrate under the weight of its own contradictions, we know what we mean! Just let Rivers workers be denied their salaries for one month, and when they ask why they’re told Abuja is withholding it! Whatever ‘one Nigeria’ apostles see they should take it as the results of their own intransigence and feelings of indestructibility! 3 Likes 1 Share |

mrvitalis: The judgement will be implemented immediately and no court will grant a stay of execution. The appeal court that Sim will run to already ruled on the unconstitutionality of the Rivers state budget. Instead of thinking of more illegal and unconstitutional ways around this, why not advise the governor to do the right and legal thing by taking the state’s budget to the authentic Rivers State house of Assembly as required by law and affirmed in the judgement of the court of appeal. Why should the governor be doing the wrong thing because of politics? Why can’t he obey a simple court judgement? 3 Likes 4 Shares |

ALTERNATEID:Lmaooo appeal court is bound to give stay of Exercusion... Seems you see a baby to law There are multiple cases and litigation on this matter, different conflicting judgement A stay of Exercusion is a must Supreme Court ruling Lagos vs FG has already made it impossible for agent of FG to withhold States allocations since they are independent I would like to see what NJC does to this judge 2 Likes |
Re: Implication Of Court Stopping Rivers Allocation by ALTERNATEID: 3:06pm On Oct 30 |
mrvitalis: The state governor has no power to implement an illegal budget. There is already a judgement on the illegality of the current Rivers State budget and until it is rectified by way of a proper passage into law, no judge will issue a stay of execution of the judgement. The era of disobedience to court judgement is gone. Fubara either obeys the constitution or forget the state’s allocation. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Implication Of Court Stopping Rivers Allocation by gare(f): 3:40pm On Oct 30 |
mrvitalis: This is a wrong judgement, there is a pending case in court relating to the 27 lawmakers, you can use this judgment to validate them as legit house members they should try that case, but the chief judge is stalling that case using all this cases to validate them, while the real case to test if they are truly house members is not coming up for hearing 3 Likes 1 Share |
